Chapter 1. Flash Backs
Celestial' POV
A beam of moonlight hit my eye lids through a small gap in the scarlet curtains. I groaned and rolled over, not wishing to be awaken.
'Tia' muttered a voice, pacifically my friend and roommate, Persephone.
I growled and turned again, resulting my face in my soft plush pillow,
'Tia, if you don't get up soon, I swear I'm going to die!' She whined, throwing her pillow harshly at me.
I sat up and gave her a death glare.
'Alright I'm up' I comfermed, I couldn't have my best friend dying on me could I?
Persephone indicated her finger towards the bathroom door, as she already had her uniform on, a plain white button up shirt and a black skirt, her ebony robe was lined with scarlet and gold, the house colours of Gryffindor. On her left side of her chest, she wore the Gryffindor crest, a fierce lion that stood on its hind legs, as if fighting with another animal of some sort. Her feet were covered with purple high tops that reached to her ankles. I mentally scoffed, of course she would wear her high tops.
Persephone seemed her relies my change of humour and raised a thin, brown eye brow. I shrugged as her lime green eyes looked blankly out the window.
'Morning to you too' I growled, sarcasm dripping from my voice
'Morning' Persephone replied, we weren't really morning people, all the more reason to get up at three in the morning am I right or am I right?!
I scooped up my uniform and marched into the white tiled bathroom.
A quarts sink lay in the middle of a polished marble bench. A lonely white toilet sat in the corner of clean bathroom, a glass shower opposite it. I lay my uniform on the marble bench and quickly stripped down, walking into the shower I turned the taps, hot slightly more than cold.
I let my mind drift off to the start of where my life at Hogwarts began, the most exiting times were probably the sorting when I was in my first year and a few others I can name.
Flash Back brought to you by Severus Snape wearing Neville's Grandmother's clothes
I walked through the large entrance to where we would get sorted, others around me where talking excitedly. Some wearing masks of fear and dread, others, determination and bravery.
Persephone stood next to me and admired the ceiling, of which was bewitched to look like the night sky.
A thousand lighted candles floated high above, not being held up by anything visable, it was admirable.
Four long wooden tables sat along the floor of the wide hall. Many young witches and wizards looked at us, some with loath, some with encouragement.
We scooted down the isle and lined up in two lines in front of one long table, of who sat on a raised platform. Older witches and wizards sitting comfortably along the border.
The woman from before, dressed in emerald green robes and a tight, brown bun, came forward and placed a small, three legged stool, of which on top sat a worn, old, pointed hat who surprisingly started singing:
🎵Oh, you may not think I'm pretty,
But do not judge what you see,
I'll eat myself if you can find,
A smarter hat than me,
You can keep your bowlers black,
Your top hats sleek and tall,
For I'm the sorting hat,
I can master them all,
You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring nerve and chivalry,
Set Gryffindor's apart,
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
If you've a ready mind,
Where those if wit and learning
Will always find there kind,
You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where their just loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true,
And unafraid of toil,
Or perhaps in Slytherin,
You'll make real friends,
Those cunning folk will use any means,
To achieve their ends,
So put me on,
Don't get a flap,
Your in safe hands (though I have none)
For I'm a thinking cap!🎵
All hands in the wide hall started clapping, though I have my doubts about the, oh, so famous sorting hat.
'That was so cool!' Excitedly whispered my friend Persephone, I gave a curt nod and grazed my glare over the room.
I was barely aware of the names being called out, though I heard a few.
'Bones, Susan!' Hufflepuff
'Malfoy, Draco!' Slytherin
'Potter, Harry!' The room went silent I bet you could have heard a needle drop from the other side of the castle, a boy with messy black hair, green eyes, and round glasses rimmed with black mettle sat down on the stool, muttering under his breathe, I faintly heard 'not Slytherin' though I could have been mistaken for 'new slither in' meh. He was sorted into Gryffindor, and the house went wild, I heard a few people chanting, 'we got Potter!'
'Hecate, Persephone' Persy gave me a nervous smile,
'No matter what house we're in, we'll always be friends' she concluded,
'Go kick some Sorting Hat butt Persy' I encouraged
'!Hecate, Persephone!' The elder witch roared,
'Uh oh' Persy said, as she climbed the few stairs that led up to the stool, she gave an apologetic smile to the witch and sat down, the hat placed firmly atop her head. After what seemed like hours the sorting finally made a decision.
'GRYFFINDOR!!' It screamed, Persephone looked so happy she would pee her pants, and that's saying something.
'Pegasi, Celestial' I gulped shallowly and climbed my way up the stairs, my mid back, black ponytail swaying slightly behind me, I heard a few snickers that where silenced quickly after a simple look of my hard glare, I was in no mood to play games.
I sat on the stool as the hat was placed atop my head, covering most of my vision.
'Hmm what do we have here?' A creepy voice echoed through my head
'Gods damnit do you have to do that?' I growled, I heard a high pitched laugh as the sorting hat looked through my memories.
'Yes yes, hmm, what is this? Plenty of determination, what came to taint such youth and leave it do die? Hmm? Slytherin would be good for you, but your not that selfish are you? No no, hmm, quite witty, Ravenclaw could suit you, but you don't have much of that do you?' It asked
'I take great offence to that' I replied, as much as I commented the sorting hat didn't seem to take notice.
'Oh yes very loyal, Hufflepuff would do you good, is that what it will be then?' It concluded
'NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!' I screamed, well in my head of course. My eyes widened in fear
'Hmm? No?'
'no!' I cried, I hated this, crying in my mind for all to see, ugh, I'm going rotten.
'Well that leaves us with.. GRYFFINDOR!!!!!!' The hat screamed, relief crossed my face, like a tsunami crosses the land.
I handed the hat back to the witch and skipped happily down to the Gryffindor table.
End of Flash Back
I sighed and turned off the taps, I hopped out of the shower and brought out my Yggdrasil wand, 11' thestrel hair, soaked in unicorn blood. I swiftly flicked my wand and my raven black hair did itself in a lose braid, as the rest of my body dried, I looked in the mirror and stared back at myself, I personally think my eyes where my best appearance, they were literarily silver, bright as stars, yet as dim as a dreary cave. I sighed and put my uniform on - plain white button up shirt, black leggings, grey skirt and an ebony robe, of which, like Persephone's was rimmed with scarlet and gold, with the Gryffindor crest, my eyes grazed a golden necklace; a beautiful lion hanging from the shiny chain. I shrugged my shoulders and brought it up to my neck, putting it on gingerly.
I slipped on my black converses and marched outside, the sun was half way up and the time was 5:00. Breakfast.
I nudged Persephone who was still staring blankly out the window.
'C'mon sleepy head, I'm hungry.' I pointed out, as if on cue my stomach rumbled, though I never ate much at meals that doesn't mean I don't get hungry.
Persephone shook her head and laughed at my childlike antics.
We both grabbed our bags and skipped our way to the Great Hall.
