(Heads up, this is a really long chapter, even if it's a two parter. So brace yourself.)

Garroth's POV

I really hope I can trust this LI person, since I don't want to hurt Aphmau. I wonder what that necklace did? Maybe it gave her a strange power like me, or just talked to her like the letter said. Both maybe? Both is good. Or bad, I don't even know.

I walk into the gates and hope today is going to be as close to a normal day as it can be. I practiced the song all last night. The flyer said that we should use a track, so accompanying with piano is out of the picture. Suddenly, I hear voices behind me.

"Watch your step!" "If I could see, maybe that would be easier to do!"

I turn around and see Cadenza escorting, wait, is that Laurance?! 

I run up to him. "Dude, are you ok?" I ask. He lifts his head, revealing a pair of pearl white eyes.

"Define 'ok,'" he says.

"What happened to you?!"

"Honestly, I don't know. I was just taking a jog or something when I saw a shadowy figure come up to me. They knocked me out. The next thing I know I'm at the front porch of my house two days later without being able to see," Laurance concludes. 

Cadenza looks at him. "You worried me sick!" she says, then hugging him. "I didn't want to lose my brother.

"Woah Caddy, you've already hugged me 10 times this morning!" he says smiling. I wish I could have a sibling like that. Instead I have psychopath and one that's not even alive.

~~~TIME SKIP~~~

After helping Laurance get around and have him trip multiple times, it's finally time for the audition. I walk in through the backdoor and see a couple of people already waiting. I see Aphmau goofing off with a few of her friends. She's just so..., well, adorable. She spots me and motions me to come over.

"Hey, you excited?!" Aphmau says excitingly, looking as if she's going to explode from the suspense. "I'm really nervous."

"You'll do great, you're a natural!" I compliment, looking her straight in the eyes.

"Garroth, don't leave me alone!" Dante yells from a few seats away smirking. "Or do you want to sit near your girlfriend?" 

My face goes bright red. "She's not my girlfriend!" I say quieter.

"Near her it is," 

"Alight we're going to have Aphmau go first!" Katelyn announces. I look over at Aphmau, she's shaking.

"Don't worry, you'll be fantastic Aph," I say calmly. She nods, seeming a relax a bit. She gives her phone to Katelyn, who plugs it in. Aphmau walks on stage, rubbing her temples. She takes a deep breath.

(Start the music at the top)

I'm so tired of being here

Everyone was taken in by her voice. I felt my heart beating out of my chest. She sounds amazing...

I looked at the judges, Jeffory and Katelyn. Jeffory immediately started applauding like the rest of us. Katelyn was staring her, tearing up. It takes a lot to make Katelyn cry, so this was an obvious win for her. Aphmau walked off the stage and picked up her phone. I stand up and grab both of her hands.

"That was incredible," I say, seeing her face go pink.

"T-thanks Garroth," She answers.

"Ok, next person," Jeffory projects. "Garroth, your turn!"

Aphmau's POV

I'm internally screaming. He grabbed my hands! Come on Aphmau, get a grip, it's his turn now. I sit myself down and am surrounded my good jobs and wows. The only one not was Kawaii Chan, who was doing a little happy dance as usual.

"Eeeeee! He held your hands!" She says. "You two are so adorable!"

"You can say that again," Nicole responds.

Not a person in this room, well, except for Dante because he's apparently too cool for that, wasn't having their eyes pop out of their head. I felt my heart flutter. 

"Dibs" Kawaii Chan whispers.

"Dibs doesn't work with every situation," I whisper back.

"Fine," Kawaii Chan replies playfully.

I stand up and claps as loud as I can. The crowd goes absolutely insane along with me. He walks down blushing from all the attention. Suddenly, someone walks behind me.

"So, that's the guy."
