Garroth's POV

I look from Zane to Aphmau. My blood started to boil. I can't allow him to harm these people any longer. If I know Zane, he's going to keep the hostages if we agree anyway.

"Poor big brother," Zane taunted, "Can't save your princess now can you?"

That was the last straw. I don't know how it happened, but I started to grow a foot taller. My body dimmed, and a blue set of armor formed around me, only my head could be seen. A black cross appeared on my chest. A sword formed in my hand to what seemed to be made of pure diamond. I looked at Nicole, how she could not believe what she was seeing. What am I?

I look over at Zane with a sudden burst of confinence, "You think I'll go with you that easily?" Zane's eyes widen in fear, and the like coward he is, runs. I rush over to Aphmau, still the this strange form, and rip of the oxygen mask. All the lilac purple essence absorbing back into her in a matter of seconds. She shifts, her amber eyes concealed under her eyelids. Instead of being afraid, she smiles and looks content. Suddenly, I change back to my human form.

"W-what happened?" her eyes dart around the room. Nicole is hugging Dante, who has now gained consciousness. I lift Aphmau up, slinging her arm around my shoulders. We walk over and Nicole looks at me.

"What in Irene's name was that?" Nicole asks, he eyes clearly saying, 'Please don't kill me'

"Honestly, I don't know," I answer, "We need to tell someone about this."

"Yeah sure," Nicole says sarcasticly, "They'll totally believe that you turned into a magical guardian thing," She crosses her arms. I put my hands in my pockets, and to my surprise, there's a note.

Dear Garroth Ro'meave,
I see your power has been unlocked. This girl, Aphmau, is very special.
Protect her, try not to trouble her. You've been chosen as her guardian.
Don't tell a soul about this, not even her. If you do, she will become an
even larger threat, so be careful. She needs to believe she's normal, or
the barrier will break between fiction and non-fiction. I know you love
her, so please keep her safe.

LI? What does that mean. I turn my head and see the girl I love, the girl I need to protect with my life. Love may be a strong word, and it's insane that i've only known her for a short amount of time. Just a day ago, my life was as normal as it can get, besides the fact my families crazy.

"Let's forget this ever happened and just go back to home," Nicole shoots me a stern look, "Please?" I say. She takes a big breath and leaves the room, not exactly knowing where she's going. I pick up Aphmau bridle style and make my way out. Maybe Laurance wouldn't mind me bringing her with me. What am I even saying, of course he'd love a girl in his house! Maybe she'll think she just passed out for no reason. I'll figure it out. Six words replay in my head.
