Sorey covered his face with an arm as he descended into the maelstrom of Malevolence. Wind was blowing the Malevolence everywhere and scratching and cutting all of Sorey's body. Then, it felt like he walked off a cliff and he was plummeting downwards. "AHHHH!" Sorey screamed. Then, his sight returned, and the purple Malevolence vanished. What he saw in front of him made his eyes widened. He was above what looked to be the continent of Glenwood, but it was different. It looked like many different islands. "Woah... beautiful..." he muttered to himself. He then started plummeting at a faster speed. "Oh no... THIS IS GONNA HUUUUURRRRRT!" He screamed as he fell towards the eastern island. As he grew closer to the ground, he saw a port town and a secluded town in the middle of the woods. As he finally came close to the ground, he closed his eyes and winced, waiting for the impact. When he didn't feel an impact he slowly opened his eyes and found himself floating an inch above the ground. Sorey repeatedly blinked. Then he fell with a loud grunt.

"Ow... my nose." Sorey muttered, rubbing his nose. He got up and looked around. He had landed in the town in the middle of the forest and right in the middle of the hustle and bustle. People were talking, smiling and doing their jobs. He saw a guy around his age trying to calm some cattle. The cattle seemed to be spooked and weren't listening to the guy. Sorey walked over to him and asked, "Need some help?" The guy didn't respond, except continued trying to calm the cattle and seemed to not hear him. "Hey-" Sorey called out, putting a hand on the guy. Though, as soon as his hand touched the guys shoulder, it past through him and out the other side. Sorey gasped and jumped backwards, retracting his hand from the guy. "You damn animals! Just listen for once!" the guy yelled out. Then, a familiar girl ran towards him and started helping. "Shhhh! Shhhh..." Velvet shushed calmingly, rubbing one of the cows' head. The cow calmed considerably, and so did the rest of the cattle as soon as she approached.

The other guy just watched, same as Sorey, but while the guy watched with admiration, Sorey watched in shock. Velvet had her long, black hair tied into a braid that went down her back and her hair looked tidier then the current Velvet he knew. She wore a short sleeve brown shirt and pants that stopped mid shin. "Wow Velvet. How do you do it?" the guy asked with a grin. Sorey regarded him and took in his appearance. He had black, tousled hair and black as night eyes. He was wearing a blue t-shirt and brown shorts. Velvet just giggled and said, "Celica always said took keep a calm composure when dealing with animals and Arthur continuously drills in my head that, when hunting, to keep a level head and never lose your cool." The guy chuckled. "You all done for the day Chris? I was going to the shop and meeting Rebecca and Niko there. Wanna join?" She asked the guy. Chris just smirked and said "Lucky for all three of you, I'm all done. Meaning you all can be graced with my prescience." Velvet just deadpanned.

"And this is the reason I wonder why I became friends with you..." Velvet said, turning around and walking towards a man with tables set up and an assortment of stuff on them. Chris and Sorey followed. "Because I am Rebecca's boyfriend!" Chris said with a grin. "Yeah. Whatever." Velvet snorted. When they reached the shop, they met up with a red-haired and a blonde-haired pair of girls. The red head wore a yellow dress with a white undercoat. She had on white leggings and a pair of brown boats. Around her neck was an orange and white ascot tied into a bow. Her orange eyes sparkled with joy as she laughed. Her hair was a short bob cut style but had two locks of longer haired tied up in two yellow bows and were thrown over her shoulders. The blonde-haired girl wore a red sundress and had on a pair of black, knee high boots. Her red and orange eyes shined with mirth as well, making them seem like dancing flames. Sorey looked at the pair of girls with wonder. Both were strikingly beautiful.

"Hello ladies! The one and only Chris has arrived!" Chris exclaimed, stealing a kiss from the blonde and sitting beside her. Must be his girlfriend... "And me." Velvet said with a smile, glaring playfully at Chris. He just smiled. Two dogs ran around from behind the red head that Sorey immediately recognized. "Orthie! Russ!" Velvet squealed, kneeling down and scratching behind both dogs' ears. They barked happily at her. The red head just huffed and rolled her eyes. "Those scared-y-cats were hiding in the house the whole day, whimpering!" she stated. "Now, now Niko. Calm down." The blonde, Rebecca said with a calm smile. And so, the four began to talk about random stuff. Mostly about Velvet needing to find a boyfriend. Though she would repeatedly shoot them down, saying "I have no time for romance." Sorey just watched. "Why would the Malevolence send me here?" he wondered out loud. A feeling inside him told him to continue sticking around Velvet and he would know.

Then the scenery shifted into a murky haze. "What the-!" Sorey yelled, looking around. The haze looked dark blue, almost purple, but no one paid it any mind. Then the haze dropped him off on a cape. As the haze faded, his eyes widened. Velvet and what looked to be Laphicet were on the ground, a Hellion named Werewolf advancing on them. Then, Artorious came with his sword drawn, Ceres right beside him, killing the Hellion. But Velvet seemed to be unconscious. Laphicet slowly got up. "Arthur... it's happening now, isn't it?" he asked the older man. "Yes. It seems that the time has come upon us." Artorious said with a frown. Ceres went to pick Velvet up as the two talked. Though she clenched her fist and was frowning. The purple haze returned, and Sorey was still at the cape, but a blood red moon appeared in the sky. As the haze left, you could hear the screaming of villagers. Sorey just stood there as he watched the scene in front of him. Velvet was fighting back against the horde of Hellions and Arthur just watched, a frown on his face. Though Velvet had gained her Daemon arm.

"Arthur! Why! Why did you kill him!? Laphi! My Laphi!" Velvet cried, tears rolling down her face as she destroyed all the Hellions. When she was done, Sorey gasped. In replace of the Hellions, were the dead forms of the towns people. Though something was up... Chris and Rebecca weren't there. The purple maelstrom reappeared, ripping Arthur's form apart and him dissolving. Velvet was in the middle of it. Niko's dead form slowly rose up and moved towards Velvet. "How could you Velvet? I thought we were friends?" she asked. The rest of the dead towns people also rose up and started blaming her as well. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" Velvet repeatedly cried, falling to her knees and covering her face with her hands. "Sorry won't bring us back! Why did you do it Velvet!? WHY!?" the shop man yelled at her in anger, his soulless eyes glaring at her. The depressed voices of the towns people turned to anger and started yelling as well. "Velvet!" Sorey called out desperately. Velvet froze for a minute and opened her fingers, so she could see the ground.

"Sorey?" Velvet called. The towns people's voices grew louder, trying to drown out The Shepherd calling her. "It's all your fault!" an elderly lady yelled. "Velvet! Don't listen to them! They aren't real! They're just your delusions!" Sorey called. Velvet turned and saw the boy running towards her through the Malevolence. "Sorey! What are you doing here? You could become tainted with Malevolence as well!" Velvet called, her emotions turning to worry and fear. The dead towns people vanished the the wind slowed down. Sorey reached her and hugged her. "It wasn't your fault. It never was. You never knew. Artorious tricked you." He told her. Velvet was still crying. "But it was. If only I was stronger..." she mumbled. "But you are strong! You defeated Artorious! You got your brother back! You have all your old friends back, as well as new ones you made from meeting me!" he told her. The Malevolence started to slow down and leave behind Velvet's white mind space. Velvet just smiled. "You're right. I just miss my friends so much. That's all." She commented with a sniffle.

Meanwhile, Zenrus, Dis, Arthur, Celica and the Therions gasped as the Malevolence slowed down and left two purple bubbles of Malevolence. One held Velvet, the other... "Sorey!" Zenrus called in fear. The boy looked to be peacefully sleeping in the Malevolence. His brown hair though had changed to black and copied Velvet's. Both bubbles popped and dropped Sorey and Velvet on the ground. Both groaned and slowly woke up. Sorey's eyes had turned golden as well as his new black hair. "My head hurts..." Sorey said, sitting up. Velvet chuckled and said, "Thanks for helping Sorey." Sorey grinned at her. "Yes. Whatever happened while in those bubbles must have been great and all, BUT WHY DID SOREY'S APPEARANCE CHANGE!?" Medissa yelled at the two. "It must have been Velvet. She must have unconsciously changed his appearance to better suit the 'Mother-Son' bond they obtained." Zenrus stated. "Wait, what?" Arthur questioned. "My, my! Ms. Calamity has a son." Medissa teased with a smirk. Velvet glared.

The cliff scenery began to turn black. "Seems like our time is up." Dis stated. "See you Velvet." Celica said, looping her arm with Arthur's. "Bye Velvet! Tell Eleanor we say hi!" Kamoana called out with a hand wave. Orthie and Russ barked at her. "Bye." Velvet said. "Take care Sorey." Zenrus said with a smile, the first one on his face since he got here. "See ya' latter Gramps!" Sorey said with a grin. "Both of you must find my new Therion. Good luck." Dis said, dissolving into sand. Both then fell into a dark abyss.

"OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO!? SOREY IS GONNA BE HELLIONIZED!" Yelled a super worried girl. Edna grew annoyed at the woman's behavior and stomped her foot. A slab of rock appeared in the girl's way, causing her to fall. "Owww..." Lailah mumbled, getting up and rubbing her forehead. "Calm down. Look." Edna stated, motioning towards Sorey's body. "The Malevolence..." Phi gasped. "It's receding!" Laphicet cheered. "But wait..." Rose questioned. As the bubbling transferred from Sorey and to Velvet's Daemon hand, they all saw his new appearance. His black hair shined in the moon light coming into the room through the stained glass. It was only moments before that while most of the group was freaking out, the roof fixed itself as if it went back in time and the Scarlet Night left and left a pale moon in its wake. "Guys. Look! They're waking up." Alisha commented. Everyone watched as the two slowly woke up, yawning. When they sat up and looked at the other, Velvet laughed. "What?" Sorey asked, his golden eyes looking at her confused. "Your appearance changed out here too!" Velvet commented. "WHAT!?" Sorey screamed. Mikleo stifled a chuckle at his honorary brother's reaction. "Here." He said, creating a clear sheet of ice that made a reflection. Sorey took it and regarded his new look. "Actually, this doesn't look half bad." He commented, liking it.

"What the heck happened to you guys!?" Rose asked. "You all might want to sit down for this." Velvet said. Though Sorey realized something. Out of all the towns people, Chris and Rebecca weren't part of the Hellions. If they weren't there... then where were they?
