I Can Be Earth

You gaze down upon me with large porcelain blue eyes,
And I'm reminded of how fragile you are;
Like my mother's kitchen China.
I'm trying not break you,
Or ruin you.
But it's just so hard when I'm like a drunk ballerina,
Constantly spinning crooked on her clumsy axis.

And I can't help but feel like a snake,
Something later you'd metaphorically compare to the devil;
About how I used nothing more than an apple to tempt you,
Causing you to set foot into my den.
But
I'm not here to sabotage you,
And
I'm not here to save you either.

So,
I'm just going to keep twirling in my circles;
Orbiting like a planet,
Admiring people like the sun does-
From a distance so perfect to sustain life-
While trying to protect everyone and me,
Simultaneously.
I will never try to purposely scar you,
There's burns up my arms from keeping the fires of my own destruction from reaching you.

I'm not your hell.
But I'm not the protective angel you've titled me you be,
I'm not your heaven,
But I can be your in-between.
I can be your Earth.
