I am judged for being a girl

Where my character is defined and redefined by the length of dresses I wear,
Where drinking and late night shifts for girls are unfair.
Where I amn't supposed to laugh and joke with a boy,
To make fun of boys isn't our job, but it's fine to play with us like toys.
Where it's a big deal if girls drive cars,
Where I can walk freely but am always behind bars.
Where marriage is my ultimate goal and there's nothing better to do,
I am a girl and I have to work according to the ultimatums set by you.
Where I have a rule book to follow,
No one cares about our impending sorrow.
Where separating a boy from his parents is a crime,
But separating girls is a tradition, they aren't meant to shine.
Where jobs in the army, navy or airforce is stored for the real "man",
I am a "girl" and for me the world has a plan.
Where I am supposed to 'compromise' and not say a word,
I am a girl and girls are always left unheard.
Where my earrings, make up and necklaces make me look fake,
Where the kitchen is our home and it's always 'food'we have to make.
Where not mine, but it's my husband's name I take.
Where being a girl is a vulnerability sign,
Where it's I, a girl, who always has to mark the line.
Unfortunately I live in such a world,
Where each minute and each second of the day I'm judged for being a girl.
