Lacey got up that morning and went with Ever to the club to get her paycheck. She had a shift for the new week later that night. She dressed in her normal college clothes and went into the club. "Come on". Lacey replied to Ever. "I need my check to pay my dues. You know the administrative lady wanted me to pay soon or they'll cancel my classes cold turkey". She sighed. "Alright. I'm up. Give me a few". She said and got ready and drove them to the club. Lacey did have her own car but it was easier to carpool. Save gas and all. ... "Yo, Annie". Ever said, when she walked in with Lacey. "Is Dylan in, we need our checks?". She asked. "Yeah, he's in his office just getting those done, aren't you off tonight?". Annie replied. "Yeah, but I drove Lacey here with me and then I've got a class or two to go to and then I'm having a relaxing night in". Ever laughed a little. "Must be nice, relaxing". Annie laughed. "I can't remember when I had a day off". "Anyways, Dylan's in the back". She said and went on back to fixing the lights for the stage with the light guy. Ever nodded. "Alright I'm going in". She said. .....  After a few minutes Ever came out with her check. "Thank god!". She sighed and sounded relieved. "What?". Lacey asked. "Nothing Lace, I'm gonna go talk to Annie while you get your check, Dylan said he needed to talk to you". She added and walked off. "Wonder what's that about?". Lacey said to herself. She walked in Dylan's office. "Hey". She smiled. "Close the door". Dylan said. Lacey nodded and closed the door. .. Normally she knew what that meant. She'd seen all the moves, he wanted to sleep with her. That's what the guy means when he says to "close the door". "Am I in trouble?". She asked using the old clichè line. "No you're fine!". Dylan smiled. "In fact. Really fine". He said and cleared his throat.

(Outfit that Lacey is wearing)... "Thanks?". She said. "Look, anyways.". Dylan continued. "I added a little extra just because". He smiled. "Thank you!". Lacey smiled.  "It'll really help pay for my books and my classes!". She added. "You're welcome". Dylan said. "Anyways, you're working tonight right?". He asked. "Yeah why?". Lacey asked. "Nothing. Just see you later". He said. Lacey nodded and opened the door on the way out. "That was weird". Lacey said and went to find Ever. "Hey chicka". Lacey yelled. "Time to go, got my check". She said. "Alright, by Anns". Ever said and hugged her by. "Bye Ever". Annie smiled and went back to work. ... "You won't believe the the weirdest thing that just happened!". Lacey told Ever. "What?". She asked and got in the car and closed the door. "I think Dylan just hit on me?". She kinda smiled. "Oh shit!. That spells trouble!". Ever said. "What? Why?." Lacey asked. "He's been with Annie on the side for a while. Everyone knows it, even Annie herself. It's nothing casual. Just sex mostly". Ever replied. She gave Lacey that don't ask look. "Look Dylan's really sweet. But trust me. If Annie finds out that he likes you. She'll make your life a living hell, just ask the girl that quit a few years ago. Annie literally tortured her till she wanted to leave". "Just be safe and know what you're doing please, Lace". She gave her a soft smile. "I'll be safe, Ever". Lacey said back. ... But the truth was, she couldn't believe it. She knew she felt something with Dylan. She just couldn't figure out what it was. Would would happen with them?. Would Annie find out?...
