Chapter 25
Lara's POV"After that, they'd be weakened and that's when Lara and I would come and deliver the final blow." Hawkfrost explained carefully with having everybody from the group watch him. As I said, I still admired his leadership. That's why I only sat next to him, keeping my mouth shut. And it's not like any bright ideas formed in those brains of mine anyways. He still remembered Jerome's battle-planning and learned something from it as well. More than me definitely. But then again, I guess he spent more time with him than me."You said that you and Lara would rejoin the fight after Ross and Olivia fight them, right?" Sorrows said and Hawkfrost confirmed with a nod so Sorrows contunied "I think it would make more sense if Ross and Olivia would attack first, that way WitherMU and Skybrine can get easy-going and it'll be easier for Supah to fight them afterwards.""Mhhmmm, I see." Hawkfrost said, not noticing his hand was on his lips, muffling his voice slightly. He then looked at the rest of the team, asking them if they were okay with the change of the plan. They all agreed without any hesitation and so we went into details. At first, I still paid atenttion to how Supah would fight both villains at once and how Ross and Olivia would equally share one role as a fighter but slowly got more and more bored as we arrived to what herbs Sorrows would use. And not to mention that they repeated the same plan over and over again. I was basically half asleep, I don't understand how others stayed awake through that crap. "Lara!"My eyes flew open. I looked at Hawkfrost, forgetting to wipe out my Hey I just woke up face. I stared into his eyes, completely dozed. He looked angry. Oops."Can you tell me what our killing move is going to be."The one thing I loved about Labyrinth is that it had no teachers, homework or studying. Oh well."I forgot." I said blankly. I'm glad my tiredness hid my fear because damn I was close to actually pissing my pants. Okay maybe not but angry Hawkfrost was terrifying Hawkfrost. "Once they're surprised well sprint past them and stab them from behind." Hawkfrost explained, still angry but I guess he couldn't really shout at me.So the next few days and night were long, exhaustion progressing constantly. Everybody worked hard but it was Hawkfrost who was under the most stress from leading this whole plan and at the same time keeping up his stamina and strength. Whenever he got just half an hour of free time he spent it sleeping. And he fell asleep so fast it was literally amazing but at the same time kinda sad, how much he had to go through. While he spent most of his free time napping, he was sometimes too stressed to even do that. At times like these, he acted casual, still leading and guiding everybody but as soon as we were alone he vented to me about it. At stress, there's not much I could advice so the best I could do was try my best to cheer him up by talking to him. As flattering as it was, I actually was his best cure to stress.Hawkfrost might've worked the hardest, but the rest of us worked really hard as well. Like hell, we worked so hard Ross almost beat Supah in a fight once. See that's what you call hard work. So at the end of the day we were so tired we were carefree enough not to have a night guard. Then in the morning came the stress of a chance we woke up too late. So time passed and eventually, the tenth night begun, coloring the skies dark and revealing the full moon colored in shades of yellow, hiding behind the branches. Me and Hawkfrost were just about to head back to others. As we walked, my feet slowed down, making me fall behind and overall walk slower. Hawkfrost noticed that and stopped as well, looking at me almost surprised but worried. In the end, it was his look that broke the rhythm, causing my legs to stop completely. I just stood there and stared at him, having no way to hide the obvious anxiety and fear on my face. He walked back to me and stopped right in front of me. My eyes were facing the ground now, not having the courage to look up at him. He put his hands on the sides of my shoulders, as a sign of comfort I guess."Afraid?" He whispered."What does it look like?" I whispered back, almost sarcastically, but still unhappy."Close your eyes." "Are you serious...." I was getting more and more anxious, so bad it was basically making me kinda angry."Just close your eyes." He ordered again, as gently and kindly as possible. With a deep sigh, letting him know I didn't like where this was going, I closed my eyes."Now describe me the members of our team, the good and bad of them."The first person to pop up in my mind was Sorrows. I had doubts for where Hawkfrost was going with this but I decided to give it a shot anyways. "There's Sorrows, she's the healer of our group. She's kind, friendly, really helpful and needed in this group. I know something has been bothering her for a long time now and I wish she'd open up to me, but other than that, she truly is great." I was speaking slowly, my voice unsure."Good, contunie." Hawkfrost said quietly."There's Supah, serious most of the time but only because it's needed, he still knows how to joke however. I think he gets attached to people so much it makes it hard for him to let go but once he does, it's a proof that he's one if the bravest people I know." I contunied without having Hawkfrost to tell me to do so "Olivia might find it a bit hard to communicate with you older guys but I know her and she's funny, brave for her age and just an important memeber to this group." I don't know what Hawkfrost's intent was when he told me to do this but it was actually getting me in a better mood. "Ross might seem pretty useless in some situations but he has proven over and over again that he is brave, good and a true fighter, all though a small one." There was silence. Until Hawkfrost spoke."Aren't you forgetting somebody, somebody who isn't me nor you?"I thought and it didn't take me long to remember."Jerome. The brains if the group, he used his smartness to make battle plans and in his free time theorised about the secrets of this place. He was pretty cowardly at first but in the end, he turned out to be a real fighter." "Now tell me, do you believe that these people will do their best tonight?" He said quietly, but softer than I've ever remembered him speaking. I nodded."Yes." I said feeling a smile spread across my face "Yes, I do."I felt him give me a light, warm kiss on my forehead."Now all you need to do is believe in the two of us."
