Chapter 19

A/N enjoy Larafrost you...you.....people

Lara's POV

I stood and watched as our leader was running around like a little girl. Supah was sitting near by and observing this strange behavior as well.

"I get that it's been two weeks and that you're leg is better but calm down." I said with amusement.

Hawkfrost jumped and landed on his feet with grace.

"You don't understand Lara." He said, amused as well "I'm experiencing true freedom."

"I thought true freedom was when you're alone and fart all you want." I joked but kept my voice serious to make it more funny.

"Oh my god." Supah said and covered my face with my palm. Hawkfrost didn't look amused one little bit. I guess cats don't find farting funny. How sad.

"But when you think about it though, two weeks without any villains. Weird huh?" Sorrows said.

"They probably saw what I did to Toxic and now they're scared." Olivia bragged and did a fabulous hair flip.

"Mhm." Sorrows sounded unamused "Where's Ross?"

Olivia looked around "Probably went to the forest, you know what he's been like ever since the Enderlox incident." She said.

"Why don't you go and get him? He's been gone for quite a while now." Sorrows suggested. Olivia nodded and went the same way Ross did. I could tell by her walk that she did not want to spend her night like this. Sorrows turned back at us.

"That's why we're going on a little road trip." Hawkfrost continued the conversation Sorrows had started earlier.

"There are no roads in here you buttface." Supah said.

"Oh that's right. We're going on a little thunder-path trip." Hawkfrost said and grinned. I facepalmed. I gave Hawkfrost secret lessons on human language a while ago but he still got confused now and then. Sorrows stared at him.

"Whatever that means......" She cleared her throat to break the awkward silence "Well you got all you need, some food, weapons, you'll find water on the way." Sorrows said.

"I believe that's it then." I said "I'm sure you'll take good care of Olivia and Ross while we're gone." I gave her a hug.

"Just take care of yourselves, all of you." Sorrows said "And if you find any villains, kick their asses."

"That's what I was born to do." Hawkfrost said proudly.

Actually you were born to be an asshole in a book about cats killing each .

"As long as you don't go too far you shouldn't get lost." Sorrows explained.  Even though to somebody new this would seem like a place where you'd easily get lost, it actually wasn't so. The paths and openings were all different and it was easy to memorize where you came from.

"We'll only be gone for a few days." I said. I turned to my left and saw that Supah was already picking up the tools we packed.

"Why are you in such a hurry?" Supah already opened his mouth to reply but Sorrows was first.

"I actually think it's better this way, less rambling more moving."

"I agree with Sorrows, you chat too much." I angrily glared at Hawkfrost. He innocently put both of his hands in the air. I narrowed my eyes and gave him the I've got my eye on you warning. We picked up the last of the things we had to take, even though there wasn't much. Then we all said one last quick goodbye to Sorrows.

"Does this look familiar to you?" Hawkfrost stopped in front of an opening.

"It does a lot actually." Supah said "But there's something I don't like about this."

It looked very familiar to me as well, and I was sure we camped here before.

I knew something important has happened here, but I just couldn't remember what.

"Should we camp here?" Hawkfrost asked and looked at us. Supah shrugged and looked at me.

"I don't see why not." I said.

"Good, me and Lara are going to get some firewood, you make sure nobody steals this place." Hawkfrost said.

"But who could possibly steal this place?" Supah said. But Hawkfrost simply ignored him and went to the forest. Supah then looked at me. I gave him the well you know him look and shrugged.

"Lara!"

"Coming!" I said and trotted after him.

I followed Hawkfrost, carrying lots of firewood we had collected. He suddenly stopped and looked around.

"If you got us lost I'll murder you." I said.

"When did you become such a DickCanadian?" He muttered "I was just looking around, do you honestly think I'm stupid enough to get us lost?"

"DickCanadian." I repeated with a short laugh.

"His real name."

He dropped his firewood next to a tree and nudged to em to do the same.

"But aren't we going to take this back to Supah?" I put my firewood next to him.

"Yeah but have you noticed how fast we collected it?" He said. He walked towards the nearest tree. He put his foot in a crack on the tree and started climbing up it. I followed him and copied every of his move to climb my way up. We came to a branch, pretty thick but pretty high from the ground as well. In fear of falling I started shaking and was too afraid to look down. Hawkfrost sat down, leaning against the tree trunk. He put his hands around my waist and pulled me closer, assuring me I wouldn't fall. I gasped quietly in surprise as I've never had any boy touch me like that. But I knew it wasn't sexual in any way at all.

"You alright?" He asked me. I nodded and looked around, not having a chance to do so before.

"Woah..." Thousands of hundreds of leafless naked trees stretched over the end as far as my sight could reach. The forest was endless, only decorated with small openings and hills.

"I'm guessing you've never climbed a tree here before?" He mumbled. I shook my head.

"No, but this is truly amazing." It was a bit scary, yellow moon, only two stars in the sky, clouds covering the sky and fog hidden among the trees. But the same things that made it scary, made it so much more amazing. I envied villains a bit, this was their home. But at the same time, right now this was my home as well.

"Is your home this beautiful as well?" I asked quietly. He looked up and was quiet for a bit.

"Sadly not. But sometimes I could see the endless StarClan fields. Now those are beautiful." His voice could tell me he was in another voice as he was explaining, fantasizing.

"One time Flametail sneaked me to the other side and showed me around. He is one of those who knew my role isn't my real personality." He explained.

"Sounds like a nice guy." I nuzzled my face against his shoulder.

"He is, he's nice and cool. Shame we're enemies though."

It was quiet for a while.

" And what happened then? After Flametail took you to StarClan?"

"He had to take me back or else Bluestar would find me She's not the smartest around here."

I chuckled. Then there was some silence again but it didn't really bother me. In fact it was kinda calming, just me and him

"I wish you could visit my world, meet your favorite characters." He said as he untangled one of his hands to stroke my hair.

"Mhm....." I felt so relaxed I was on the edge of sleeping. My eyes were closed and all I felt was the cool breeze and his touch.

"But enough about my world,I want to hear about yours."  He suddenly said.

Still eyes closed, I smiled "But my world is so boring."

"No it's not, I want to hear about it." He protested.

"Well what can I say, I draw, I learn, I go to a giant building where boring mentors teach me often boring things, I make awful jokes and puns with my sisters and talk to my friends from around the world."

"But how do you talk to people from around the world?" He asked surprised.

"It's called the internet Hawkfrost."

"That's not boring."

"It is Hawkfrost, you just don't know it." I chuckled. He didn't say anything.

After that, we both remained quiet, and nobody bothered to say anything. We didn't want to break the silence as it we she sweetest thing right now.

Never have I felt more safe since I've set my foot in this place. With danger always only a step behind us, I've never had a real chance to calm down and have somebody tell me we'll be okay by not saying anything.

The fire was warming the back of my body as I was cuddled up next to Hawkfrost. Supah was sleeping on the other side of the fireplace but I'm pretty sure he didn't mind it all. Hawkfrost was already asleep and breathing heavily. His face looked adorable as he was sleeping and all I did was stare at him. Then something behind him in the forest caught my eye.

It was just  a tree but it was....a pine. There weren't many pines around here,I only remember one opening that had pines scattered among the other trees. It was the place where we had killed Icee which meant this was most likely her territory. As Toxic told us, she was back and she was alive. I turned around to look at Supah who was just like Hawkfrost, also sleeping.  Ross had no mental preparation and his current state was heartbreaking for all of us. Supah was stronger than Ross, mentally and physically.  But with no preparation, would he end up like Ross?

I knew that I'd have to tel him the next day, I really wish I hadn't though.
