Luna's Pov

I walked into school and smiled when I saw Adam and Chase sitting on a bench.

I walked over to them and smiled.

"Hey guys" I said.

"Hey Luna" Adam said.

"Hey babe" I said as I kissed Chase on the cheek.

"Hey baby" Chase said with a smile.

I turned around and saw a kid I've never seen before.

"Baby, I want you to meet Marcus. Marcus meet Luna, my girlfriend" Chase said.

I smiled and extended my hand, "nice to meet you" I said.

"Nice to meet you too Luna" Marcus said as he shook my hand and winked at me.

Chase didn't notice, which was good, but I was uncomfortable so I just nervously smiled at him and moved a bit closer to Chase.

Leo walked over to us and waved.

"Hey, peeps. What's the deal-io?" Leo asked.

"Hi. I'm Marcus" Marcus said with a smile.

"I know. We have gym together" Leo said but Marcus looked confused.

"And study hall. And also chemistry. We're lab partners" Leo said but Marcus continued looking confused.

'This is comedy gold' I thought.

"Oh. I... did not know that" Marcus said and I giggled.

"Chase, you ever play guitar?" Marcus asked.

"No, but I've always wanted to" Chase said.

"Well, I'm a jammer as well. My rocking is only eclipsed by my rolling" Leo said with a smile.

"Leo, Tasha said you played the clarinet for three weeks until you swallowed the reed" I deadpanned.

"I passed it" Leo defended.

"Here, Chase. You want to give it a go?" Marcus suggested as he gave his guitar to Chase.

"W-- yeah-- yeah. Sure. Why not?" Chase agreed.

"You got this bubba" I said with a smile.

He smiled and nodded.

I'm assuming he used his bionics because he started playing really well and soon he was on the ground, continuing to play.

Once he stopped everyone was staring at him with wide eyes and jaw dropped.

He smiled nervously before getting up.

"Uh... What do you know? Beginner's luck" Chase said as he quickly handed the guitar back to Marcus.

"Well I got to go, but see you guys at lunch" I said.

I placed a soft kiss on Chase's lips and he smiled.

"Love you bubba" I said.

"Love you too sweetheart" Chase said.

I smiled and walked away to get to my next class.

Lunch Time

It was lunch time. We were all sitting together with Marcus.

"So me and my dad moved around a lot. I was homeschooled for most of my life" Marcus said.

"No way! So were we! We are so similar! Do you have a third nipple too?" Adam asked.

Marcus looked at him weirdly while I glared at him.

"Anyway... That's a pretty sweet guitar, Marcus" Chase complimented.

"Yeah, and you're a natural, bro! Guys! We should start a band!" Marcus suggested.

I smiled but raised my eyebrows at him.

Who the hell wants to start a band this early? We barely know him.

"Oh, that's a great idea!" Adam said.

"But what would I play?" Adam asked, he started playing on the table with his chopsticks and he was really good.

"Oh, I got it! No, I don't got it" Adam said.

"I think you're gonna be our drummer, Adam" Marcus said with a chuckle.

"Hmm. Interesting choice. I had been pondering the french horn" Adam said and I giggled.

"Oh, and sweetheart can be our singer" Chase suggested.

"Oh, you sing Luna?" Marcus asked.

I smiled and nodded.

"Yeah, I've been singing since I was 6" I said.

"That's really cool, you can be our singer, it'll be awesome" Marcus said.

"Uh...yeah sure" I said and he smiled.

'This is weird, I don't want to be rude since he is new, but this is really weird' I thought.

Leo soon walked in and smiled at us.

"Hey, Leo, guess what? Luna, Marcus and Adam and I are forming a band" Chase said.

"Well, you guys just met. Don't you think it's a little soon?" Leo asked.

'Exactly my point' I thought.

"A little soon for what? Taking the deeply committed step of jamming together?" Chase asked.

"Now if we could just find someplace to practice. I live in a pretty small place, so..." Marcus said.

"Oh, no, I know a place. The lab" Adam suggested.

All of our eyes widened and we coughed and glared at Adam.

He realized what he said and quickly came up with an excuse.

"Oh. L-Labrador Retriever Park. Yeah, the dog park. Nice acoustics. Plus, they have dogs" Adam said.

"Saved it" Adam whispered sang to me and I glared at him.

"Well, you know, Marcus, we have a pretty big place. We can all just jam there" Chase suggested.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold your horses, cowboy. Come on. Chase, what are you doing? Do you really think it's a good idea to let a total stranger into our very private home?" Leo asked.

"That's okay, guys. We don't have to jam. Not everyone needs a bright spot in their otherwise horrible life" Marcus said as he looked down in sadness.

"Oh, look, Leo, you're making him feel bad" I scolded him.

"Don't worry, Marcus. We'll practice at our place later. Come on over" Chase said.

"Great. See you guys after school" Marcus said as he got up and walked away.

"You guys are making a big mistake. I mean, you've only been in the real world for a little while. There's still a lot of stuff you don't know" Leo said.

"Look, Leo, I'm not gonna run my playdates past you. Hel-lo! Genius!" Chase said and I giggled.

"What you have is book smarts. I have street smarts. And I've gotta watch what's happening on the street" Leo said.

"Oh, Leo! Relax! We are not going to be playing in the street. We're going to be playing in the house. This guy" Adam said.

Seriously, how many times did dad drop him as a baby?

Back At Home

Once we got home we started setting up so we could practice.

Once that was done we began practicing.

Marcus and Chase were playing guitar.

Adam was on drums.

And I was singing.

After a few minutes of practicing we finished and cheered.

"Well, it's only our first day, but you guys sound great! I think you both have real raw talent" Marcus complimented Adam and Chase.

"Oh, well, if our talent is raw, then we better get cooking" Adam said and I giggled.

"And Luna, your voice is beautiful" Marcus complimented.

"Aww thanks Marcus" I said.

"A beautiful girl like you with a beautiful voice goes really well together" Marcus said with a small smirk.

I smiled nervously at him and looked away.

This boy is really getting on my last nerves.

He's trying to flirt with me when he knows I'm dating Chase.

Suddenly Leo appeared behind him.

"Leo, what are you doing?" Chase asked.

"Just asking Marcus a few questions. Where were you born? What is your birthday? Who is the president of Venezuela?" Leo asked.

"I don't know" Marcus said.

"Aha! So he's not from Venezuela" Leo said and I rolled my eyes at him.

"Okay, that's it. This practice just became band members only" I said.

"Well, then, I guess I'm in the band" Leo said.

"Leo, you don't even know how to play an instrument" Chase deadpanned.

"That's where you're wrong" Leo said.

He tried playing a few instruments but failed miserably.

"Like I said, you don't even know how to play an instrument" Chase said and I giggled.

"You know what, guys? Let him in. He can play this" Marcus said as he handed Leo a cowbell.

I quietly laughed and looked away.

"Thank you. I've never played the cow bell before, but let's see what I got" Leo said as he hit the cowbell and smiled.

"Wow! I'm a natural" Leo said and I rolled my eyes.

We then started playing a bit more, but dad came in and ruined our fun.

"Hey! Hey-Hey! You know, it's not enough to just play notes, you want to get them in the right order" Dad said.

"Really dad?" I asked in annoyance.

"OMG, you're... Donald Davenport!" Marcus yelled in excitement.

"Guilty as charged" Dad said with a smile.

"The genius billionaire scientific entrepreneur!" Marcus said with a smile.

"Don't forget multi-lingual mega-star" Dad said as he walked into the kitchen.

"Oh, gracias" Marcus said.

"De nada" Dad said.

"Wow, Mr. Davenport, I'd love to hear your theory of plasma gasification" Marcus said.

"Who wouldn't?" Dad asked.

"Nobody does, dad" I said and he glared at me.

"Wait, he's your dad?" Marcus asked.

"Adopted father" I said and dad nodded.

"But nonetheless, still her father and she's still my daughter" Dad said with a smile and I smiled back.

"Hey, you know, Bree and I were gonna demo the holo-pet for Career Day. But since you guys have a band, maybe we can demo my concert-in-a-can instead! That'll be such a great surprise for her!" Dad suggested.

"That is good! That is good! What is it?" Marcus asked as I giggled.

"It's a can that creates a virtual holographic concert experience. It's something I designed for those of us who would be rock stars if we weren't busy being brilliant inventors" Dad explained.

"You're a rock star to me" Marcus said.

"I know" Dad said as he patted him on the shoulder.

"Bree is gonna love this" Dad said as he walked out of the room and Adam stepped up.

"Well, I'm gonna go get Mr. Davenport's gigantic mega-amp, because everybody knows louder is better" Adam said.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. That amp is pretty heavy. Don't you think I should help you carry it? 'Cause, you know, you don't have the strength of ten men" Chase suggested.

"Yes, I do...not. I'm frail" Adam said as they both left the room.

"Well you boys have fun, I'm going to take a quick nap before the concert" I said.

"Have a nice nap" Marcus said.

"Don't leave me" Leo said and I rolled my eyes at him and headed upstairs.

I walked into my room and got onto my bed.

I closed my eyes and let myself drift off to sleep.

A Few Hours Later

It was time for the concert.

Apparently Leo broke Marcus's guitar, which is honestly so Leo.

So dad allowed Marcus to borrow a guitar for tonight.

I quickly took a shower and once I got out I changed into some new clothes.

I quickly left the house and made it to school on time.

I entered the gym where the boys were setting up.

Chase noticed me and smiled.

"Hey sweetheart" Chase said.

"Hey bubba" I said.

"Looking beautiful as always" Chase whispered and I giggled.

Dad walked in and smiled at us.

"Wait'll they get a load of this. My virtual concert in a can is gonna knock their socks off" Dad said as he placed his concert in a can down.

"Now, it will activate itself, so don't forget to stand back. Couple of guys in research and development found that out the hard way" Dad explained.

Adam looked a little scared but I just smiled before turning to Marcus.

"Oh hey Marcus, sorry about your guitar, I promise to talk to Leo about it after today" I said.

"Thank you Luna" Marcus said with a smile before he turned to dad.

"Thanks for loaning me this awesome guitar, Mr. Davenport. It's almost as good as the one Leo so viciously destroyed" Marcus said and I smiled.

"Well, hey, if I had a nickel for everything of mine that Leo destroyed, I'd still be down about two million and change" Dad said.

"Yeah, and that's just the stuff you know about" Chase said.

"We don't know anything" Adam said.

"No" Chase agreed.

We all backed away as Bree walked over.

"This is going to be amazing" I said.

"I know, I can't wait" Adam said.

"And now, for your Career Day entertainment, concert in a can... can... can... Featuring Luna, Adam, Marcus and Chase... Chase... Chase..." the pre recorded dad said over the intercom.

All four of us stepped on stage.

The guys were in the back while I was in front.

Adam started playing first, then Marcus and Chase started.

Soon I started singing.

Once I finished singing everyone cheered even louder then before.

We all smiled and bowed before getting off the stage.

Soon dad and Bree took over and they were really terrible, but hey, at least they were having fun.

Everything was done and soon we were all packing everything up to head back home when Leo walked into the gym.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't my old friend Marcus" Leo said.

"Sorry, Leo, you're too late. We've safely packed away all the guitars. Maybe now you can find something else to break. Ha ha ha! 'Cause you broke the guitar" Marcus said and I nodded.

"Excuse me, I would like everyone's attention right here. I have proof from our home security system" Leo announced as he held up his phone.

"Hi" Eddy said.

" Now watch, as I--" Leo started but Marcus cut him off.

"I have a confession to make" Marcus said.

"Oh, no, you don't" Leo said.

"I did it. I broke the guitar" Marcus admitted and my eyes widened in shock.

"You did what?" I asked.

"That's not fair! I was gonna crack this case wide open!" Leo complained.

"What's going on here?" Dad asked.

"I broke my guitar and blamed it on Leo. I owe everyone an apology" Marcus said and dad looked at him in shock.

"You broke the guitar?" Chase asked in anger.

"Why didn't you just say so?" I asked.

"Yeah, why didn't you just say so?" Leo asked.

"Because I had already cracked the guitar, but if my dad knew that I broke it I'd be in so much trouble because my family is so poor and I just want everyone to like me because I'm always the new kid, so I made everyone think that Leo did it because I'm so scared and it's so hard to make friends and I'm just a dumb kid compared to all of you and my grandma just died" Marcus explained.

He soon started crying and we all stared at him, not really knowing what to do.

"Are you crying? Is he crying?" Dad asked.

"It's okay, Marcus" Bree said.

"Yeah, it's no big deal" Dad said.

"We don't think you're dumb" I said.

"Yeah, and your grandma didn't die" Adam said and we looked at him with wide eyes.

He just mouthed, 'what, I don't know.'

"Marcus, why don't you come out and have dinner with us?" Dad suggested and Marcus nodded.

"Mm-kay. You guys go ahead. I want to apologize to Leo" Marcus said and we all smiled.

We quickly left but then I realized I left my purse behind.

"I'll be right back, I need to get my purse" I said and they all nodded.

I ran back to the gym but stopped when I heard Marcus talking.

"You didn't actually think I was gonna apologize, did you? They totally believed me. My grandma's not dead-- she's in Miami playing shuffleboard" Marcus said with a laughed.

'What the hell' I thought as I hid behind the doors.

"What is wrong with you? Why are you doing this?" Leo asked.

"It's a long story. But let's just say... you're in my way. Oh-- And if you ever try and rat me out again... you're toast... for real" Marcus threatened.

My eyes widened in shock and fear.

Leo was right, Marcus is evil and up to no good.

"Hey, guys, wait up! I don't want to miss any of the fun" Marcus yelled out to the others.

"Oh, and once I'm done with your family, Luna is going to be all mine" Marcus said.

I scoffed and rolled my eyes.

I'll never be his, I'll always be Chase's.

"Don't you dare do anything. Luna and Chase are happy together, she'll never be yours" Leo warned.

Yeah, what he said.

"Luna and Chase might be together for now, but once I'm done with you and your family, she's going to be mine. Nobody is going to come between us" Marcus said.

I mentally gagged, no way in hell would I ever go near that weirdo.

I heard footsteps and made sure I was completely hidden behind the doors.

Thank gosh Marcus didn't see me and walked past me and left the school.

I got out of my hiding spot to make sure he was actually gone.

Once the coast was clear I ran into the gym

"Leo, are you ok? Did he hurt you?" I asked as I scanned him.

"Wait, you-" Leo started but I cut him off.

"I came back to get my purse and heard everything Marcus said. Don't worry, I believe you now" I said and he sighed in relief.

"Thank goodness, but what do we do now?" Leo asked.

"Right now we make sure he's nowhere near Adam, Bree and Chase" I said and Leo nodded.

"And we need him to think that I still don't believe you, that way he's not suspicious" I said.

"So you're going to pretend to be his friend?" Leo asked and I nodded.

"Don't worry Leo, Marcus is going down" I said with a smirk and he smirked back.

We fist bumped before I grabbed my purse and walked out the gym to head home.
