Luna's Pov

I was in the common area with Alexis, Nick and Leo.

Dad had taken all the students out on their first field trip to Gettysburg while us mentors got to stay at the academy.

But what I don't understand is why Leo is here since he's not a mentor, he's a student.

Me and Alexis were talking while Nick and Leo were talking.

We heard footsteps and turned around to see Douglas walking into the room with his phone by his ear.

"Yes Donnie, I'll take out the garbage. No Donnie, I won't experiment on the kids' bionics while they're asleep again" Douglas sighed in annoyance.

This made our eyes widened as we turned to look at him.

Douglas turned and saw that we were staring at him.

"It was one time and none of you even notice" Douglas said.

We all gave him weird looks before he went back to his phone.

"Gotta go. Yes, I miss you too" Douglas said before hanging up.

He put his phone in his pocket and sighed before walking towards us.

"Well, Donnie and the students made it to Gettysburg for their first official field trip" Douglas said.

"Bionic kids and cannonballs. What could possibly go wrong?" Leo sarcastically said.

I scoffed and rolled my eyes before crossing my arms at him.

"You're a student. Why didn't you go?" I asked.

"Oh, Big D thinks I'm there. When he takes attendance, I paid a kid 5 bucks to yell 'Here!' and another kid 10 bucks to yell 'Shut it, Leo'" Leo said.

Me and the others nodded in understanding as Nick snorted.

Then Bree walked in while carrying some books.

Leo smiled and walked over to her.

"Oh, hey Bree. I ditched the field trip, so I could hang out with you guys. What should we do on our day off?" Leo asked.

Bree looked at him like he was joking and started laughing.

"Our day off? No, this is my day off and I already got it all planned out. I'm going to sit by the pool and read a book" Bree smiled.

"That sucks" Alexis scoffed.

Nick rolled his eyes while I snorted and nodded.

"I'd ask you to join me, but I live and work with my family, so I'm sick of all of you" Bree scoffed.

"Hey!" me, Alexis and Nick yelled.

"Except for you three of course" Bree smiled.

You would think she would be looking at all three of us when she said that but the truth is she was mostly looking at Nick.

The tension between them, I swear.

Then Chase walked in and Leo walked over to him.

"Hey Chase, wanna hang out?" Leo asked.

It honestly surprises me that Leo wants to hang out with him considering he barely hangs out with Chase.

"Sorry Leo, gotta make the most of my day off. I already organized the weapons vault, alkalized the island's water system and taught a cute little group of dolphins to wave hello" Chase grinned.

Leo gave him a weird look along with the others while I smiled and shook my head.

Chase then walked over and stood next to Bree.

"Next up, some light reading. Oooh" Chase smiled as he took a book from Bree.

Bree gave him an annoyed look but she ignored him and started speed reading.

Only a few seconds passed when he finished the book and closed it.

"She ended up marrying the vampire? I did not see that coming" Chase grinned.

Bree glared at him before snatching the book back from him.

Then Adam walks in and Leo walks over to him.

"Oh, hey, Adam" Leo smiled.

"No" Adam said.

"I didn't even ask you anything yet" Leo said in annoyance.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Go ahead" Adam said while waving his hand around.

"Thank you. Would you like to han-" Leo started but Adam once again cut him off.

"No" Adam deadpanned as he walked away from him.

Leo gave him an annoyed look as me and Alexis snorted.

"Guys, check out this rock I found on shore. I had to dig it out from under a wooden box of old yellow coins and jewelry" Adam grinned as he took out a huge rock.

Chase, Douglas and Leo gave him annoyed looks as. Alexis pinched her nose in exasperation. Me, Nick and Bree rolled our eyes.

Chase took a close look at the rock and soon his eyes widened in shock.

"Adam, this isn't a rock. It's a fossil. Let me see that" Chase said as he tried taking the fossil from him.

"No!" Adam yelled as he held onto the fossil tighter.

Soon they both started fighting for the fossil.

Me and Alexis looked at each other and sighed while shaking our heads.

Soon Chase managed to get the fossil from Adam as he walked over to the console and set it down.

"This is a prehistoric sea spider! It went extinct millions of years ago" Chase gasped in shock.

We all walked over and huddled around him to see the fossil for ourselves.

I stood next to him and laid my head on his shoulder and he didn't hesitate to wrap his arm around my waist.

"Way to go, Chase. You made my rock boring" Adam groaned in annoyance before walking away.

Alexis sighed and shook her head before following behind him.

"Cool, I love spiders! You know, back in high school, they used to call me 'Spider Legs!'. And now I'm realizing that's a bad thing" Leo said.

We all gave him weird looks before Douglas turned to Chase.

"I thinks it's from the Cretaceous period" Douglas said.

"You're right, Douglas! It's from the Valanginian subdivision. I would have loved to have seen this spider while it was alive" Chase smiled.

I smiled at how happy he is and kissed his cheek.

He turned to me and smiled and pecked me softly on the lips.

I smiled before he turned back to Douglas.

"Well, maybe you can. You know, before I got into bionics, I dabbled in biology. I was trying to use fossils to bring extinct species back to life" Douglas said.

"And that explains why there's still no Mrs. Douglas Davenport" Bree said.

This made Douglas glare at her while I snorted and high-fived her.

"This specimen is almost perfectly preserved" Chase smiled.

"You know, I was never able to crack it on my own, but maybe with your help, I can" Douglas said.

"I'm pretty sure you're not looking at me, but I am in" Leo grinned.

"Let's do this, Douglas" Chase said and Douglas nodded.

They both started examining the rock, making the others sigh and shake their heads.

I rolled my eyes at them with a small smile on my face.

Soon we heard noise and turned around to see Adam riding a tandem bike.

"Hey Leo, it was rude of me to just say no when you asked if I wanted to do something earlier" Adam said.

"Well, it's nice to see you've come to your senses" Leo smiled as he walked over to him and tried getting on the bike.

"Yeah, what I should've said was 'no thank you'" Adam said as he shoved him away.

Leo stumbled and nearly fell but luckily he managed to catch his balance.

"Come on baby" Adam smiled as he winked at Alexis.

She smiled and giggled at him before walking towards him.

He handed her a helmet as she put it on and got on the back and they rode away.

It's fair to say that Leo looked annoyed and a tad bit sad.

I smiled softly at him as I walked over to him and placed my hand on his shoulder.

"Don't worry dooley, I'll hang out with you" I said.

"Really?" Leo asked in shock.

"Yeah. I mean my boyfriend is going to be busy with a rock so why not" I shrugged.

Leo smiled at me and pulled me into a side hug.

I smiled and hugged him back.

When we pulled away we felt arms around our shoulders and turned our heads to see Nick behind us.

"Hey I'll join you guys. I've got nothing else to do either" Nick said.

"Why not" I smiled.

"Thanks bud" Leo smiled.

"Anytime bud" Nick said as they both did a small handshake before all three of us left to go do something together.

A Few Minutes Later
In The Training Area

So far the only thing the three of us did together was watching a few movies.

Leo still wanted to work on the rock with Chase and Douglas and I really don't blame him, but I do find it a tad bit annoying.

Nick had left to go find Bree while I was with Leo.

We walked into the training area to see Chase and Douglas working on the rock.

"Oh, you guys started without me. I must have missed the memo. Where we at, compadres?" Leo asked as he walked over to them.

"Don't mind me. Just going to observe" I shrugged as I walked over to them.

"First we have to extract a sample of its DNA" Douglas said.

"Oh, great, we can map out its genetic structure, and recreate it exactly" Chase said.

"Or make it better. There's a reason this spider went extinct. This time we can give it a better shot at survival" Douglas said.

Not gonna lie that's pretty cool.

"After all these years of killing things, I can finally help something live" Douglas grinned.

This made me and Leo give him weird looks.

"Uh, what'd you have in mind? Elongating its chelicera?" Chase asked.

"Elongating the who to the what now?" Leo asked in confusion.

"Maybe we can increase the strength of its carapace" Douglas suggested.

"Oh, good idea" Leo nodded.

"Nah, but to do that we'd have to alter the dimensions of its trochanter" Chase said.

"Mm, bad idea" Leo said while shaking his head.

Is this dude just saying random things without even knowing what he's saying or what they're even talking about?

"Right, to properly distribute the weight" Douglas said.

"Yes, the weight" Leo nodded.

"Of its altered exoskeleton" Chase said.

"The exoskeleton. Of course" Leo nodded.

I sighed in annoyance as Chase and Douglas turned to Leo and gave him annoyed looks.

"You're just repeating everything we say" Douglas said in annoyance as he glared at him.

Chase nodded while Leo shook his head.

"No, I'm testing you to see if you're both listening, and you are" Leo said.

All three of us gave him unimpressed looks.

"Now, can we please get back to our tree panthers and our carrot pizzas" Leo smiled.

"That's not even what they were talking about" I sighed in annoyance.

Chase nodded as he wrapped his arm around my waist.

"Leo, look. You're a great tech guy, but this is more of a biology thing" Chase said.

"Are you icing me out?" Leo asked in shock.

"Finally. Something you do understand" Chase smiled.

Leo gave them a sad look before turning around and walking away.

I frowned and sighed, knowing that his feelings really were hurt.

I kissed Chase on the cheek before walking away to catch up to Leo.

I found him in the common area, leaning against the wall with his back turned to me.

I walked over to him and stood behind him.

"You know they're not being mean or rude leaving you out of their small biology project, right?" I asked.

He slowly turned his head to look at me.

He sighed and nodded.

"Yeah I know. I just feel so left out most of the time. Nobody, besides you and Nick, want to hang out with me anymore. I guess now I know how Chase felt" Leo said.

I frowned and moved closer to his side.

"Don't worry buddy. You've still got me. No matter what I'll always be here for you whenever you need me. Despite our bad moments, we're still siblings no matter what" I softly said.

His sad look changed into a happy one as a small smile appeared on his face.

"You truly have the heart of gold Luna. You're truly the best sister ever" Leo softly said.

"And you're the best brother ever. No matter how annoying you can sometimes be" I smirked.

This made him roll his eyes at me but that didn't stop him from letting out a chuckle.

He turned his head back around as I did the same.

We stood there in comfortable silence.

Until I placed my hand on his shoulder and rested my head on his shoulder for comfort.

This made him bring his hand up to place it on top of my shoulder and used his other hand to hold onto my other free hand.

"I love you sis" Leo smiled.

"I love you too bro" I smiled.

In The Common Area

We were all in the common area because Douglas and Chase were done with their spider experiment.

I was standing in between Bree and Alexis, their heads on my shoulders as they were tired and bored.

"Behold! One of the greatest achievements in the history of science!" Douglas grinned.

He then removed the black sheet that was covering something and revealed a glass box.

And inside was a spider.

Me and the others just nodded, not entirely interested.

"Aaah! Spider! I'll get it!" Adam yelled.

"No! Stop!" Chase yelled.

He then tried lunging towards it but Chase held him back.

While we were all enjoying the show between them Chase managed to stop Adam from lunging at the spider.

"Stop. Douglas and I were able to extract the DNA from the fossil and reanimate the sea spider" Chase said.

Bree's eyes widened as she lifted her head from my shoulder and looked at Chase.

"Wait, so you brought a million-year-old creature back to life in one day?" Bree asked in shock.

"What'd you do with your day off?" Chase asked with a smirk.

Bree glared at him and laid her head back on my shoulder.

"When you take a lot of shortcuts and conduct dangerous experiments without any safety precautions, you can do anything in a day" Douglas grinned.

"Can you believe it?" Chase asked.

"That you'd spend your whole day off with your weird uncle and playing with a dead spider?" Alexis asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yeah, I believe it" Nick chuckled as him and Leo high-fived each other.

"This is just the beginning. Think of all the other extinct animals we can bring back to life. Dinosaurs. Ooh, dodo birds" Douglas grinned.

"Camels" Adam smiled.

We all turned to him and gave him weird looks.

"Adam, camels aren't extinct" I said.

"Oh yeah? Then how come I've never seen one?" Adam asked as he crossed his arms.

I gave him an annoyed look and just shook my head.

"Ugh, that thing is nasty" Alexis said while shaking her head.

"Can I touch it?" Leo asked with a huge smile.

"No" Douglas deadpanned at him.

"Oh, but you guys can touch it?" Leo asked.

Chase sighed and shook his head at him.

"Look, we can't risk anything happening to it. The spider's very existence can change everything" Chase said.

"And make me famous around the world" Douglas smirked.

"And what about me?" Chase asked while turning to him.

"Oh, I'm sure you'll end up on somebody's blog" Douglas shrugged.

"And I'm sure you'll end up old and lonely in a few months" Alexis scoffed.

We all snorted while Douglas glared at her.

He rolled his eyes before placing an electric lid on top of the box to keep the spider inside.

"There. That should keep our little friend safe" Douglas said.

"Well, I'm gonna go somewhere quiet and enjoy my day off. Come on Nick" Bree smiled.

Nick's eyes widened as she started dragging him with her, not that he was complaining, based on the smile and his blushing face.

Me and Alexis looked at each other and rolled our eyes.

"I'm gonna go somewhere quiet and make noise" Adam said as he quickly followed Bree and Nick.

"Stop following us!" Bree yelled at him in annoyance.

"Stop walking in front of me!" Adam yelled back at her as they all continued walking before they were gone.

We turned around to see Douglas and Chase walking towards the hydraloop.

"Where are you guys going?" Leo asked.

"To the mainland. We still have to pick up a few things for its terrarium" Douglas said and Chase nodded.

When they got on the hydraloop I turned my head to see that Alexis had actually fallen asleep on my shoulder.

I sighed and smiled softly at her before picking her up bridal style.

"I'm going to take her to my room so she can take a nap. She must be tired" I said as I looked at Leo.

He smiled and nodded.

"Come on sleepyhead, lets get you to bed" I said, pressing a kiss to her forehead.

I turned around and started walking away, carrying a sleeping Alexis in my arms.

A Few Hours Later
In The Mentor Headquarters

Me, Adam, Bree, Leo and Nick were all in the mentor headquarters just relaxing.

Alexis was still in my room sleeping, I gotta tell you that my sister can sleep for an entire week.

Anyways, I was on my phone while Nick and Leo were looking at something on Leo's phone.

Adam then walked over to us with an airhorn in his hands.

"Hey, Leo, Nick, Luna, I have a question" Adam said.

"What's up?" Leo asked.

"Is this annoying?" Adam asked.

He then blared the airhorn, making me and Nick wince as we covered our ears.

Bree looked up from her book and gave Adam a glare.

"Yes, it's annoying" Bree said.

"Well I'll tell you what's annoying. People who interrupt conversations. Leo, Nick, Luna" Adam said as he once again blared the airhorn.

"Let me hear it one more time" Leo said.

Adam nodded and he blared the airhorn again, making Leo nod.

"Yeah, that's annoying" Leo said.

"Then we might have a problem, 'cause this thing, it's like candy to my ears" Adam grinned as he blared the airhorn continuously.

Bree slammed her book shut and stood up from where she was sitting.

"Adam, why do you keep pestering me?" Bree asked.

" I'm not pestering you. I'm just trying to relax on my day off. This is my Zen" Adam said as he blared the airhorn continuously again.

"That's it!" Bree angrily snapped.

She superspeeded themselves to the pool and pushed Adam into it.

"Try to toot your little horn now" Bree smirked.

Adam blared the airhorn again, though it was a tad bit muffled, we all looked at each other and rolled our eyes as Bree walked back in.

Chase and Douglas walked in and they both looked angry.

"You messed with our spider" Douglas said while looking at Leo.

Leo sighed and sat up straighter from the couch.

"You can't bring an extinct spider back to life and expect me not to play with it" Leo defended.

Chase and Douglas glared at him while Nick sighed.

"So he wanted to play with the spider, what's the big deal?" Nick asked.

"The big deal is that he didn't put the cover on right, and it escaped" Chase said.

Leo's eyes widened as he hummed and nodded.

"Oh. Well, that is a big deal" Leo said.

Chase and Douglas sigh and roll their eyes at him.

We all jumped when Adam screamed.

We turned around to see him coming out of the pool, and by the looks of it he was in pain.

We all looked at him and walked over to him.

"You okay?" Chase asked.

"Oh, I don't know. Something bit me in the back when I was in the pool" Adam said as he sat down on a nearby chair.

"Hmm. that's called karma" Bree said.

"Oh, no, I bet it was the spider" Douglas said.

Chase quickly ran over to the pool before sighing and coming back over to us.

"Well, if it was, it's gone" Chase said.

"Ah, it really hurts. How's it look?" Adam asked.

We all looked at his back and screamed when we saw a huge lump on his back.

"I better scan the wound" Chase said.

He pressed his fingers against his temple and started scanning the wound.

A few seconds later Chase removed his fingers and looked at us, looking completely worried.

"Guys, his spider bite shows lethal levels of poison" Chase said.

All of our eyes widened as we looked at each other in worry.

"What? Is it bad?" Adam asked.

We all looked at each other as Bree shook her head and walked over to him.

"Uh, no. Just stay calm, and think of your happy place. Better yet" Bree said.

She grabbed the airhorn and blared it, making all of us jump and cover our eyes.

"Ahhh" Adam sighed as a small smile appeared on his face.

Bree stopped the airhorn and a satisfied smirk appeared on her face.

A Few Minutes Later

We all brought Adam inside the mentors headquarters and laid him down on the couch.

It was fair to say that he looks like shit.

His face was all weak and looked completely numb and he was shivering.

"He's burning up" Leo said as he felt his forehead.

"I cannot believe this is all because of a spider bite" Nick said.

"If we don't do something soon, he's gonna" Douglas said as he makes throat-slitting gesture and thumbs down gesture.

"Chase. Chase. Where's Chase?" Adam weakly asked.

Chase quickly bends down next to him.

"I'm here, Adam" Chase said.

"Take my hand" Adam said.

Chase nodded and he grabbed his hand.

"There's something I have to tell you. If I die--" Adam started but Chase shook his head.

"I'm not gonna let that happen" Chase said.

"No, listen to me. If I die, I want you to know...even when I'm dead..." Adam weakly said.

"Adam..." Chase softly said.

"I'm just a pile of bones..." Adam weakly said.

Chase buries his head in his hands for a few seconds as he let Adam continue.

"I'll still be taller than you" Adam said.

"Ahh!" Chase yelled as he stood up and glared at Adam.

Adam started laughing while I sighed and shook my head.

"You should've seen the look on your faces. Wait. Why do you have so many tiny faces?" Adam asked.

Chase rolled his eyes and walked away while Leo walked over and bended over Adam.

"Oh, no. The venom must be making him hallucinate" Leo said in worry.

"I love what you've done to your hair, Bree" Adam weakly said as he smiled and held his arm out, trying to touch his hair.

Leo gave him a weird look before looking at us.

Chase sighed and held onto my hand.

"I never would've brought that spider back, had I known that it was poisonous" Chase said.

I smiled softly at him and kissed his cheek for reassurance.

"Why didn't you know it was poisonous?" Douglas asked as he walked over to him.

"Why didn't you know it was poisonous? You're the fossil expert" Chase said.

"You're supposed to be the smartest man in the world" Douglas shot back.

Bree and Nick walked over to them to stop an argument from happening.

"Hey, stop. Blaming each other is not gonna help Adam" Nick said.

Bree nodded and sighed.

"Besides, I'm the one who pushed him in the pool" Bree sighed.

Chase and Douglas gasped as Douglas pointed a finger at her.

"Oh, so it's your fault. She admitted it" Douglas said.

"Well, he let the spider out!" Bree yelled as she pointed at Leo.

"Hey, I'm not even here right now. I'm in Gettysburg!" Leo yelled with his hands raised up.

I sighed and ran my hands through my hair.

"We have to find that spider. If we can make an antidote by extracting the venom from its sac, it should reverse the effects" I explained.

Chase and Douglas nodded, along with the others.

We heard Adam groaning as Leo looked at him.

"Don't worry, Adam. We're gonna find that spider and save you, I promise" Leo said.

"Okeydokey, Mr. Corn Dog" Adam weakly said.

Leo looked at us while we all looked at each other in worry and a tad bit creeped out.

"Oh, don't be afraid. I just wanna bite your head off" Adam said, licking his lips.

"Okay, come on" Chase said.

We were about to leave when all of a sudden Alexis walked in, rubbing her eyes.

"Hey guys, what's up?" Alexis asked.

We all glanced at each other nervously.

How are we going to explain to my sister that her boyfriends been poisoned and could die.

I opened my mouth to say something when her eyes wandered over to Adam and her eyes widened in fright.

"What the hell, what happened?" Alexis asked.

She quickly walked over to Adam before looking at us for answers.

We all looked at each other and sighed as I walked over to her.

"Sis, the spider that Chase and Douglas brought back to life got released because of Leo. It bit Adam when he was in the pool and because of it he's now been poisoned. And if we don't find the spider to make an antidote for him he might die" I explained.

"WHAT!" Alexis shouted.

We all jumped and covered our ears as we winced in pain.

"Look we have to go find the spider, stay with him" Nick said.

She sighed and nodded as we all ran out of the room to search for the spider.

Alexis's Pov

When the others left I sighed and made my way closer to Adam.

I softened when I saw the state he was in and gently ran my fingers through his hair.

His eyes opened just a tad bit and he looked up at me.

"Baby? Is that you?" Adam weakly asked.

I smiled softly at him and nodded.

"Yeah babe, it's me" I softly said, still running my fingers through his hair.

"I'm glad you're here. I didn't want to be alone" Adam softly said.

"I'll always be here for you, no matter what" I softly said.

He chuckled and nodded and gently moved a bit more to make room for me to sit.

I smiled softly at him and sat down next to him.

I brought my hand up and slipped it into his and gave it a gentle squeeze.

"Baby" Adam softly said.

"Yes babe?" I softly asked, rubbing the top of his hand with my thumb.

"If I die, I want you to know that no matter what I love you. I will always love you and only you" Adam softly said.

I smiled softly at him and allowed a small tear to stream down my cheek.

"Don't say that babe. I won't let you die, and I know that the others won't either. They're going to make an antidote and you're going to get better. I promise" I softly said.

I leaned into him and pressed a gentle kiss to his forehead.

"And I love you too" I whispered.

"Stay with me" Adam whispered.

"Always" I whispered back.

I gently got on top of him, rested my head on his chest and hugged him like my life depended on it.

He wrapped his arms around me and placed a gentle kiss to my head.

I closed my eyes, silently praying for the others to hurry and find a cure.

I don't know what I would do if I ever lost Adam.

In The Common Area
Luna's Pov

Me, Bree, Chase and Nick were together in the common area, trying to find the spider.

We all had an item in our hands, me and Nick had baseball bats, Chase had a rolled up newspaper and Bree had a plunger.

"Now the spider is really dangerous, so we have to be very careful that we don't get bitten" Chase said.

"Right" Nick nodded.

Me, Bree and Nick all walk forward together.

While Chase was hiding behind us, shielding himself by using us.

We all stumbled a bit and we turn to glare at Chase.

"What are you doing?!" Bree asked in annoyance.

"Protecting you guys" Chase said, coming out more like a question then an answer.

All three of us gave him 'really' looks and he let out an annoyed groan.

"Oh, come on, I'm the bigger loss and we all know it" Chase said.

We walk a bit more as Nick turns to Chase.

"You are bionic, and you're afraid of a spider?" Nick asked.

"Of course not. I made it. I'm not afraid of it" Chase defended as he started looking around.

I gave him a look before smirking.

I run my fingers in a walking motion across Chase's arm, to mimic the spider.

"Ah! Get it off me, get it off me!" Chase yelled in fear as he dropped the newspaper and ran out of the room.

Me and the others looked at each other before we burst out laughing.

Hey, I love Chase.

But I wanna have some fun too.

A Few Minutes Later

We were all still looking for the spider and we were getting frustrated because we still couldn't find it.

Leo ran into the room and me and Chase walked over to him.

"Did you find it?" Chase asked.

"No, did you?" Leo asked.

Me and Chase looked at each other before Chase turned back around and gave him a weird look.

"Why would I ask if you found it if I found it?" Chase asked.

"I was being polite" Leo defended.

"At a time like this?" I asked.

"There is never a bad time for good manners" Leo defended.

Me and Chase sighed as Douglas, Bree and Nick ran back in.

"Hey! Did you find it?" Chase.

"No. Did you?" Douglas asked while looking around.

Leo turned to look at us with a grin on his face.

"See" Leo said, making me glare at him.

Chase glared at him too while Leo turned around and gave Douglas a smile.

"No, we did not, but thank you for asking" Leo said.

"Okay, the spider could not have just disappeared" Nick said and Bree nodded.

We then heard a rumbling noise and all of a sudden the room starts shaking.

"Wait. What was that?" Bree asked in worry, holding onto Nick.

"I think it's coming from outside" Leo said.

We all quickly ran over to the window to see what was going on.

As soon as we looked outside, all of our eyes widened in fear as our jaws dropped.

"Is that..." Leo said in worry.

"I think we just found the spider" I said.

We found the spider alright.

The thing is the spider isn't the same spider as it was before.

And when I say this, I mean that the fucking spider is giant as fucking hell.

The spider peered into the window, looked at us and let out a loud growl.

All of us screamed in fright and we were quick to run into the training area.

When we got there we were panting like crazy and dropped the items we were holding.

"That spider did not look like that this morning. What happened?" Leo asked.

"I don't know" Chase said.

"Why is it so big?" Bree asked.

"I don't know" Chase said.

"Why don't you know" me and Nick asked.

"I don't know!" Chase yelled in frustration.

I turned around, only to see Douglas quietly walking away, trying to leave.

The others immediately turned to him and they started glaring at him.

"Douglas" me and Chase said in warning tone.

"Okay, fine. Remember how you wanted to make the spider more resilient so that it wouldn't go extinct again?" Douglas asked as he walked over to the table.

"I remember you wanted to do that" Chase deadpanned.

"And, uh, we talked about giving it growth hormones" Douglas said.

"And I said, do not do that!" Chase yelled in anger.

"Which could be interpreted in many different ways" Douglas chuckled nervously.

We all groaned in  exasperation and annoyance.

Douglas turned to us and looked just as annoyed as we were.

"Well, I didn't know it would get this big!" Douglas yelled.

"Oh, yeah! Who knew growth hormones would make something grow?!" Chase yelled back at him.

Douglas glared at him and pointed his finger at him.

"You're just mad 'cause I didn't save any for you" Douglas shot back at him.

"Oooooooh" Bree, Leo and Nick said in unison, making me roll my eyes.

"Below the belt, Douglas! Below the belt" Chase said, looking offended while Douglas rolled his eyes.

"Okay guys, stop, there is no need to kill each other" Nick said.

"Although, that was a good one, Uncle Dougie" Bree smiled as Leo nodded.

Douglas smiled at them and nodded while Chase looked annoyed.

We heard rumbling noises again and the room shakes once again.

"If we don't stop that thing, it's gonna destroy the entire academy" I said.

"No, wait. We can't kill it yet. The venom's no good to Adam if we extract it when the spider's dead" Douglas said as he walked over to the table to get something.

"Great. Now we just need to find someone. who knows how to milk a 50-foot spider" Leo said in annoyance.

"No, no, we don't have to milk it. We have to extract the spider's venom with this" Douglas said.

He then starts fumbling with some sort of weapon and when he was done with whatever he was doing he turned back to us.

"This should be sharp enough to puncture the venom sac" Douglas said.

Chase nodded and turned to Bree, Nick and Leo.

"Check the security feed to see if it's still out there" Chase said.

They nodded and quickly went to check the security feed to find the spider.

"Okay, it's by the living quarters" Nick said.

"Great. Let's go" I said.

"Remember, we have to get as close as we can to make sure we get a good shot" Douglas said.

We all looked at him and gave him weird looks.

"So you want us to sidle up next to a giant, angry, deathly spider and poke it with a needle?" Leo asked.

"Yep. And if we can do it before my brother returns, that would be great" Douglas smiled.

"And do it before Alexis kills us for not getting the cure to save her boyfriend" Nick said.

We all looked at each other, shivered in fear and nodded as we quickly left to head back to the mentor headquarters

In The Mentor Headquarters

We ran back into the mentor headquarters, huddled together and being quiet as we could since the spider was outside.

When we got there me and Bree immediately started cooing at the sight in front of us.

Adam and Alexis were cuddling together on the couch and they were sleeping.

Even when Adam is extremely sick and weak he can still comfort Alexis.

"Why is it trying to attack us?" Nick asked Douglas.

"It's not. It's trying to eat us" Douglas said as we continued walking.

"Why is it trying to eat us?!" Bree asked.

"Because we forgot to bring back its food source" Douglas said.

"We? Oh, no. There is no we. This is all you. You are a terrible scientist!" Leo yelled.

"Hey, I'm not the one who let the spider out" Douglas defended, glaring at him.

"You are the one who made it a 50-foot-tall man-eater!" I yelled in annoyance.

The others nodded while Douglas glared at us.

"Chase. Chase. Where's Chase?" Adam weakly asked while looking around.

"Oh, knock it off!" Chase yelled in annoyance, making Adam laugh as he went back to sleeping.

We all quickly go outside and Leo grabbed the harpoon from Douglas.

"Okay. All right. Ha!" Leo grinned as he pointed it at the spider.

"Leo, what are you doing?" Nick asked.

"Saving the day. You know, doing my Leo thing" Leo grinned while shrugging.

"Not like that, you aren't. Your angle's all off" Douglas said.

Then all of a sudden a spider leg strikes at Douglas, sending him flying as he screams and lands a few feet away from us.

We all cringed while Leo turned to us.

"Now that's karma" Leo said, chuckling and shaking his head.

"No, stop. Douglas was right. Your angle is completely off" Chase said as he walked over to him.

"Oh, I am not giving the harpoon to somebody who started all this" Leo said.

"Again, you started all of this!" Chase yelled.

Soon they both start fighting for the harpoon, making me groan in annoyance.

"And I'm about to end it!" Bree angrily snapped at them, causing them to stop fighting.

She snatched the harpoon from them and started walking towards the spider, aiming the harpoon at it.

"You know, suddenly, I feel sorry for the spider" Chase said and Leo nodded.

I glared at them as I smacked Chase upside the head and Nick smacked Leo's arm.

"Don't worry sis, you got this!" I yelled to her.

"Do it for Adam, he needs the antidote!" Nick yelled to her.

She looked at us and nodded with a smile before turning back to the spider.

"Here goes" Bree said, walking closer to it.

Bree shoots the spider in the venom sac and it screeches loudly.

Then all of a sudden it releases yellow goo and it gets all over Bree.

Chase and Leo grin and start cheering while me and Nick cringe at the yellow go that's on Bree.

"Got it" Bree said while nodding her head.

Soon the spider fell into the ocean, making me sigh in relief and high-five Nick.

Douglas ran back over to us with a grin on his face.

"Perfect. This should be more than enough venom" Douglas said.

"Ya think?" Bree sarcastically asked.

Douglas then uses something and scraps the goo from her face, causing Bree to cringe.

"Ugh" Bree said as she shook her head.

"Well, let's go make that antidote" Chase said.

The guys nodded and all three of them run to get back inside and make an antidote.

Me and Nick look at each other before looking at Bree.

"Hey, Bree, you need a towel? No, it's okay. I'd rather just stand here covered in spider goo" Bree sarcastically said.

I sighed and shook my head in annoyance at the boys.

"And it went in my mouth. Okay" Bree gagged in disgust.

Me and Nick cringed as we ran over to her.

"Ok, ok, come on girlie. Lets get you cleaned up and in some new clothes" I said.

Bree nodded as me and Nick guided her back inside to get her inside so she can take a nice shower.

A Few Hours Later
In The Cafe

After the guys made an antidote they gave it to Adam and he should be feeling better soon.

We were all in the cafe, sitting at a table together, playing cards and eating some snacks.

"You see, this is what I'm talking about. A little family bonding" Leo grinned.

We all smiled at each other and nodded.

"Funny how it takes a giant killer spider going after our loved ones to remind you what's really important" Nick smiled.

"Yeah. Sitting around with the same people you see every day" Bree sighed, looking a bit disappointed at the idea.

I glared at her, along with Nick.

She noticed our glares and giggles and nudged our arms.

"I was kidding guys" Bree said.

I scoffed and rolled my eyes but smiled either way.

"Too bad we had to destroy Spidey. I'm gonna miss him" Leo said.

"On the bright side, we're the only people to make a species extinct twice" Douglas said, causing all of us to smile and nod.

Soon Adam and Alexis walk in, hand in hand.

And to our relief Adam looked alot better.

"Adam, you look great" Bree smiled.

"Thanks. You look like you always do" Adam said.

Bree glared at him while Alexis sighed, smacked his arm and walked over to us.

Me and Bree moved to make space for her as she grabbed a chair and sat in between us.

"Wow, that antidote worked quickly" Chase said and we all nodded.

"Then, why does he still have a giant boil on his back?" Leo asked in worry.

We all turned to see that the thing was still on his back, making us a bit worried as Chase, Leo, and Douglas get up to get a better look at it.

Douglas walks over to him and gently touches it.

"Eh, it's just excess fluid. Should be gone in a few days" Douglas said

"Or I can just pop it right now" Adam shrugged.

Chase, Douglas and Leo were trying to protest, trying to get him to stop, but it didn't work as he was getting ready to pop it.

"Take cover!" I yelled.

Alexis, Bree and Nick all huddled around me and I quickly activated my force-field to shield us from whatever was going to come out.

Adam soon pops it, making all the goo that was inside come out and it gets all over Chase, Douglas and Leo.

The three of them gag in disgust and cringe.

Me, Alexis, Bree and Nick watch with wide eyes as I put my force-field down.

"Oh, I feel better already" Adam said in delight.

Me and Bree look at each other as she let out a small laugh and smirks.

"So do I" Bree said as she picked up a carrot and took a bite out of it.

Me, Alexis and Nick were quietly laughing while the guys looked disgusted.

"And it went in my mouth" Leo said, eyes wide in horror and mouth all the way open.

I gagged in disgust as Chase and Douglas were doing their best to help him.

The Next Day
In The Common Area

It was the next day and we were all in the common area together.

Me, the trio, Alexis and Nick were back in our mentor uniforms while Leo was in his student uniform.

We were all talking to each other when Adam ran in.

"Hey, guys, check out this funny-looking egg that washed up on shore" Adam said, holding a rock in his hand.

Chase took a quick look at it and gasped in shock.

"That's a dinosaur egg" Chase said as he took the rock from him.

"Oh, boy" me and Bree sighed.

"You know, this time, if we don't give it growth hormones, we could-" Douglas started but was cut off by Leo.

"Or" Leo said, grabbing the egg from Chase.

He immediately crushed the egg with his bionic arm.

We all looked at him with wide eyes in shock as he dropped the remaining pieces of the egg to the ground.

"You can get a new hobby" Leo deadpanned.

He then turned around, walked over to the hydraloop and got inside.

"If you need me, I'll be in Gettysburg!" Leo yelled.

Soon the doors closed and he was off.

We all looked at each other and just shrugged and went back to what we were doing.

Thank you Leo for getting rid of that egg.

We don't need another extinct animal here.
