Luna's Pov

I was downstairs in the lab with dad, Leo, Adam, Bree, and Chase.

We were all discussing about their second first day of school today, this time we wanted to make sure everything would go well for them.

Trust me, we don't need a repeat of last time.

"Okay, guys, you have been trained for all kinds of missions. But you are about to enter a soul-bruising, confidence-crushing, apocalyptical environment, high school" Dad shuddered in fear.

We all looked at him weirdly before he continued.

" Adam, Bree, your glitch test results are fairly stable" Dad said.

"Yes! I'm going to school" Bree smied.

"I'm fairly stable" Adam said.

I rolled my eyes at him and let out a small giggle.

"But, Chase, I am still concerned about your Commando App" Dad said.

Me and Chase frowned at dad.

"Commando App? Put on some underpants. We're going to school" Leo said.

I scoffed before smacking him upside the head.

"No, see, in the face of an imminent threat, Chase's Commando App kicks in and he becomes a fearless brute I like to call Spike" Dad said.

"Woah" I said and dad nodded.

"It's kinda like a fight-or-flight thing, except I took out the flight part, 'cause, useless. And I replaced it with a testosterone level of like a tasmanian devil-wolverine-shark-lion hybrid that's mad" Dad explained.

"Don't worry, Mr. Davenport. I promise that Spike won't rear his ugly head" Chase reassured him.

"Oh, yeah? You mean like last Christmas when I made the mistake of giving Adam boxing gloves" Dad said.

"Do I even want to know what happened?" I asked.

The three of them shook their heads.

"Ugh, I'm still coughing up tinsel" Adam gagged.

"You know, letting Chase go to school, isn't such a good idea. I can't risk Spike coming out" Dad said.

"Dad come on. Chase has to go to school, please let him go" I said.

"Oh, come on, Big D. Chase has to come" Leo said and I nodded.

"With these guys, I'll finally get a prime spot in the cafeteria. That's right, y'all. Put on your coats 'cause I'm about to ride your tail" Leo said.

He started smiling and pretending to gallop like a horse.

The others looked at him weirdly while I scoffed.

"Don't worry. We'll make sure he stays out of trouble. Right, guys" Adam said.

We all smiled and nodded.

"Yeah. It's one for all and all for one" I said while wrapping my arm around Chase's shoulder.

He smiled at me and I could tell he was blushing as well.

"Yeah" Bree nodded before giving the guys a serious look.

"Unless, of course, you guys make me look bad, in which case, I am dropping you lame-os" Bree said.

I glared at her and crossed my arms.

She smiled at me and linked her arm with mine.

"Not including you Luna, but the boys that's a big yes" Bree said.

The guys glared at her while I smirked and nodded.

"Mr. Davenport, I can't miss school. This is the beginning of my academic achievements and career trajectory. I mean, the road to astronaut lawyer has to start somewhere" Chase said.

Everyone looked at him weirdly while I just smiled at his determination.

"Okay. But I better not get a call from the art teacher saying that Spike ripped out her larynx. Actually, she wouldn't be able to say anything, because Spike ripped out her lar–" Dad started but stopped when we were all snorting.

"The point is just keep him out of trouble" Dad said.

We all smiled and nodded.

Yes, Chase was going to school.

"Hey, look what I found" Adam said.

We all turned to look at him to see that he found some boxing gloves.

He smiled as he pretended to punch the air.

He then punched Chase in the stomach and he fell to the ground.

Everyone, minus me, started laughing before Adam realized what he did and hid behind Bree.

I glared at him and crossed my arms.

"Look, I'm sorry, but if he's that close to the gloves, it's gonna happen" Adam defended.

I rolled my eyes at him and bent down to Chase to help him off the ground.

At School

We were all at school as me and Leo led the trio to the cafeteria.

As usual the three of them were smiling like idiots since they were happy to be back at school again.

"Okay, you guys. That's Principal Perry. She has the temperament of a junkyard dog stuffed into a really bad pantsuit" Leo said.

I groaned while nodding.

"Hey, you! No tongue rings in school! Don't try to hide it. I will take a metal detector to your face" Principal Perry yelled as she ran after the student.

The trio looked at her wierdly while I scoffed.

Soon Bree smiled when she spotted a cute boy.

"This is it. My chance for romance" Bree said and I furrowed my eyebrows at her in confusion.

"On TV, the new girl always drops her books and the cute guy with the soulful eyes picks them up" Bree said.

"Watch all this go wrong" I whispered to Chase.

Bree dropped her books and looked away, expecting a boy to pick them up for her.

But a teacher walked by and tripped on her books causing him to fall to the ground.

"Told you" I whispered to Chase who chuckled.

"Oops! Sorry, I'm new" Bree defended before looking away.

"Okay, your social life is determined by where you sit. We can't sit at the cool table" Leo said as we looked over at the cool table that the cheerleaders were sitting at.

"But we can be cool table adjacent" Leo smiled.

"Doesn't matter where I sit. I can sit anywhere since almost everybody likes me or is scared of me" I smirked.

"FYI, Adam just sat down at the cool table" Bree said.

We all turned around and saw Adam sitting at the cool table with the cheerleaders and talking to them.

"What?! He can't sit there! That's where the football players sit with the cheerleaders. And they pride themselves on finding very clever places to stuff your pudding cup" Leo said.

"Those girls are actually talking to him. And they can't talk about shapes and colors forever" Chase grinned.

"See ya" Chase said before walking away.

I frowned as I felt a tad bit jealous.

But I brushed that feeling to a side and just let it go.

"No! The football players are gonna turn them into the 5th food group" Leo said.

Bree looked at him weirdly while I just sighed.

"It's a rescue mission. Move in. Move in" Leo said.

All three of us walked over to the cool table.

"Oh, hey, guys. These girls just told me when the football players get here, I'm getting a free pudding cup" Adam grinned.

"Hi" Leo said to a cheerleader before looking at Chase.

"Walk away" Leo said before looking back at the same cheerleader.

"How's it going?" Leo asked before looking back at Chase again.

"You're in great danger" Leo said.

"And you're being dramatic" I scoffed.

The doors opened and we all turned around to see the football players all walked into the cafeteria.

Trent, the school bully, came in while smiling.

But when he turned around and saw me his smile went away and fear flashed in his eyes.

I smirked and wiggled my fingers at him.

If you must know, Trent was the football player that I beat up when he tried flirting with me.

His nose was broken for four days.

And he had two black eyes for a week.

So it's fair to say he knows not to mess with me.

He quickly looked away from me and bent down to Chase's level.

"Hey. That's my seat. Get lost before I use you like a napkin" Trent said.

"Chase, we should probably go. He's not very absorbent" Bree said with a nervous smile.

Trent ignored her and grabbed a cup and spilled it all over the table.

"Oh, look, a spill! I think I'm gonna wipe it up with your face" Trent said as he grabbed Chase by the collar and lifted him up.

It's fair to say Chase looked scared.

"That's it" I muttered under my breath.

I was about to march over to him and give him another beating.

Until Chase suddenly spun him around and pinned him to the table.

"Think again, bubbleneck. I'm gonna rip out your kneecaps and use them as hockey pucks" Chase threatened, but his voice was much deeper and scarier.

My eyes widened in shock and I looked at Leo.

"What the hell is happening?" I asked.

Adam sat up from his seat and ran towards us, knocking a few chairs in the process.

"Okay, I don't mean to alarm anyone, but I think Spike's back" Adam said and my eyes widened in realization.

"Spike, the spike dad was talking about?" I asked and he nodded.

Chase...or Spike let go of Trent.

"You have no idea who you're messing with. Okay? Pudding cups" Trent ordered.

Two guys came up to him and handed him pudding cups.

"Ohh, I'll take those" Spike said as he snatched the pudding cups away from him.

"Hey" Trent yelled.

Spike squeezed the pudding cups in front of him and his team and they were all covered in pudding.

Everyone in the cafeteria burst out laughing.

I giggled along with Bree and the others.

"Oh. You're dead!" Trent yelled.

Soon Spike growled in his face, causing Trent and the other football players to move away.

"You, okay, okay. You're lucky that we have to go to the reading center right now" Trent said before running out the cafeteria.

As soon as they left everyone started cheering for Spike while he just smirked.

"Take a seat, compadres. This is our table now" Spike smirked as he sat down.

Me and Bree smiled at each other as we took our seat at the table next to each other.

"Hello, ladies" Leo said to two cheerleaders.

"You may remember me from health class when I passed out during the miracle of birth video. It's good to see you again" Leo smiled as he sat down.

Spike turned around and smirked at me and sent me a wink.

I lightly glared at him and scotted closer to Bree.

'Ok, that was fun and all...but I rather have Chase here then Spike' I thought.

A Few Hours Later

Ever since breakfast at the cafeteria everyone has been treating them differently.

I'm already cool and feared at this school so I'm alright.

We exited the room and walked into the hallway as everyone took a step back so we could pass through.

"All right. Make room for the Alpha Dogs. Woof! Wooof! Woof! Woof" Leo yelled.

I sighed and quickly placed my hand on his shoulder.

"Don't ever do that, again" I said.

He put his hand down while frowning.

"Wait, if we're the Alpha Dogs, then..." Bree said.

She then dropped her books and two boys came and picked them up for her while she smiled.

"Oh, I love this" Bree squealed.

A boy came up to Spike and gave him an all access hall pass.

"What's this?" Spike asked.

"That's an all access hall pass. You can go anywhere you want with that" I said.

Spike scoffed before handing the pass to Leo.

" I can go anywhere I want already. These, ugh, are my hall passes" Spike said and began flexing his muscles weirdly.

"Okay, if he starts oiling up, I'm out" Leo said and we all nodded.

I don't know about them but I want Chase back, not Spike.

Spike stopped flexing his muscles and looked at us, completely confused.

"Commando App disengaged? Guys! Why was I in Commando Mode?" Chase asked.

My eyes widened in realization.

Chase was back, Chase was back.

Thank goodness.

"Were you in Commando Mode?" Bree asked.

"I didn't see a Commando Mode" Leo said.

"Oh, that's good, everyone keep lying" Adam said, making me roll my eyes at him.

"You guys suck" I scoffed in annoyance.

"You guys were supposed to watch out for me" Chase said.

"Oh, we watched the whole thing. You manhandled the quarterback and pudding popped the whole offensive line" Leo explained.

I smirked and nodded while Chase looked shocked and horrified.

"What? Aw, great. This is so gonna come back to haunt my Supreme Court nomination" Chase said.

All three of them looked at him weirdly while I smiled.

"Glad to know you're back" I said.

He smiled back at me and nodded.

"You know what Spike would say to that? Nothing. He would rip out your rib cage and play it like a xylophone" Bree deadpanned.

Adam and Leo nodded while I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, I like him. He's like a big, fun monster, and you're a sad little body" Adam mocked.

I glared at him and smacked him upside the head.

"Shut up you dumbass. He's not a sad little body, he's more then that" I defended Chase.

Chase smiled at me as he mouthed 'thank you'.

I smiled back at him and mouthed 'you're welcome.'

"I'll get Spike back" Leo said as he dropped his things on the ground.

"Get lost before I use you like a napkin" Leo faked threatened.

He tried to pick up Chase, most likely to throw him to the ground, but failed.

I just rolled my eyes at him.

"Yeah, this isn't gonna work" Leo said.

"No shit sherlock" I scoffed, making him glare at me.

Lunch Time

We were all sitting at the cool table for lunch this time while the football players were sitting at the back table.

"Hey, baby. Wanna nibble?" Leo asked a cheerleader while feeding her lunch.

I groaned and mentally gagged.

Chase turned around and spotted Trent.

"Hey, there's Trent" Chase said.

We all turned around to see Trent and the other football players sitting at the back.

And they look so sad and mad, it was funny.

"I better go apologize" Chase said as he was about to get up and leave but Bree pulled him back down.

"Woah there buddy. Just mail him a greeting card. It's so much more personal" I said.

Adam, Bree and Leo nodded.

"Guys, look. The cheerleaders cut up my food into tiny pieces. I'm eating a turkey burger through a straw. Mmm. Gibblet-y" Adam said.

We all looked at him weirdly but he just smiled at us.

Soon Principal Perry walked in and once she spotted Chase she glared at him and walked over to us.

"Hey! New kid! Come here" Principal Perry yelled.

Chase immediately got up and stood in front of her.

"Do you know what happens when my football players get humiliated? No! You don't. Because my football players don't get humiliated" Principal Perry said.

"They look humiliated to me" I smirked.

This made the others to snort while Principal Perry glared at me.

"I know what team spirit is about. Because I was the jammer on the North Pacific roller derby championship team" Principal Perry said.

"Quite an accomplishment" Chase said with a small smile.

"Don't mock me, squash face. My career ended when a trash talker like you got inside my head and I wiped. One zebra called it the worst single-bodied collision she'd ever seen" Principal Perry angrily explained.

"I'd crash too if I saw a talking zebra" Chase said.

"It's a referee, you desk donkey! They told me what you did this morning at breakfast. You will not undermine the morale of my team" Principal Perry said.

She then glared at us.

"You all evacuate this table. Now!" Principal Perry yelled.

The trio and Leo all stood up without hesitation.

I just scoffed before slowly getting up as well.

"Watch who you're talking to, sports bra" Spike yelled.

'Oh great' I thought in annoyance.

"I bet you panicked, threw yourself off the track and blamed the other team for your weakness" Spike said.

"Do you think this Spike thing's gotten a bit out of hand?" Leo asked.

"He might've crossed the line at sports bra" I said and Adam and Bree nodded.

"I had to quit because of that accident" Principal Perry said.

"Quit? Or move out of the state in shame?" Spike asked.

Soon everyone in the cafeteria was whispering to each other.

'Shit just got real' I thought with a smirk.

"He doesn't know! He wasn't there" Principal Perry defended herself.

"Why don't you hop in you economy car and tootle on home to your six cats and your online bingo tournament" Spike mocked.

"Jokes on you. I have 5 cats. Ha" Principal Perry defended.

She quickly walked over to the football players to talk to them.

"This is starting to get out of hand" Adam said.

"You don't say" I scoffed in annoyance.

Principal Perry soon walked right back over to us.

"All right, kid. I'll make you a deal. Let's be civilized and settle this the old-fashioned way. With a bone-crushing grudge match on the football field" Principal Perry said.

"We're in. Me... Him, her, her... and him" Spike said, pointing towards us.

"You and your band of nobodies, versus my fighting dingoes" Principal Perry said in confidence.

"Who is she calling a nobody? Luna gave me a half bff necklace" Bree said as she showed Leo and Adam her necklace.

The both of them smiled and looked at it.

She wasn't lying, yesterday I had dad buy me best friend necklaces.

He gave them to me this morining and I gave one to Bree while I kept the other before we left for school.

"Winner takes table and all the glory" Principal Perry smirked.

"Oh, ma'am, as much as i'd like to flex my football fanciness, girls soccer has the field tonight" Leo said.

"Eh, just as well. I can't condone such a violent game on school grounds. So let's take it to the dog park across the street" Principal Perry grinned.

The football players all smiled and cheered.

Soon they all left as we all looked at each other.

"Am I the only one that's gonna need a fresh change of pants before we start?" Leo asked.

"That must suck for you guys. Good luck with that" I scoffed while rolling my eyes as I grabbed my bag and tried to leave but was stopped by Bree.

"What? Don't you realize you're apart of this too?" Bree asked.

"Yeah, but nobody tells me what I do so there's no way I'm doing this" I scoffed.

Spike glared at me and walked over to me.

"I don't care what you say princess, you're joining and that's final" Spike said.

I glared at him and kneed him in his pricate area.

This made him groan in pain as he fell to the ground.

"One, don't call me that. And second, you don't tell me what to do Spike asshole" I scoffed.

I flipped my hair and walked out of the cafeteria.

The Football Game

Since I wasn't going to be apart of the game with them I just decided to watch them by the bleachers.

And as expected...they lost and the football players won.

'I shouldn't even be surprised' I thought.

Once everyone left I walked towards them.

"Hey guys, sorry you guys lost" I said.

"No worries Luna, it's fine" Bree said with a smile.

"Well, we may not be the Alpha Dogs anymore, but at least we still have each other. We're not total nobodies" Chase said.

I smiled at him and nodded.

"No, we are total nobodies, but at least I have you three to carry my broken butt home" Leo said.

"You are the literal saddest boy in this entire planet" I scoffed.

This made the others laugh while Leo glared at me.

Adam and Bree picked him up and carried him home.

I smiled as I walked over to Chase and helped him off the ground.

"As long as you're safe and unhurt that's all that matters to me" I said.

"Thanks Luna" Chase said.

"Anytime, now come on, let's get home" I said.

He chuckled and nodded.

We walked away, hand in hand together.

I smiled and blushed but quickly looked away so he wouldn't notice.

Yeah...It's official.

I'm starting to fall for Chase.
