Luna's Pov

Me, the trio and Leo were in the lab with Dad.

Dad was going to set the trio's capsules to different weather conditions. It's going to be cool.

I was sitting on Chase's lap while we waited for dad to finish.

"Okay, guys. The next phase of your training is handling extreme climates. So we'll frost Chase, bake Bree, and submerge Adam. That's not part of the training, I just got one of those carnival dunk tanks and I can't wait to try it out" Dad explained and we looked at him weirdly.

"Okay, Chase, I'm setting your tube on "Antarctic." If it gets to be too much, just give me a sign" Dad said.

"Bring it" Chase said.

"Be careful" I warned him.

"Always" Chase said with a smile.

I got off his lap as he gave me a quick kiss on the lips and ran into his capsule.

Dad typed a few things and soon his tube was powered up and set to Antarctic .

"Hey, that's not fair. I want to be abused by weather" Leo said and I rolled my eyes at him.

"Leo, if you really want to be abused, try standing over here next to Adam's morning breath" Bree said.

"I don't have morning breath. It smells like that all day" Adam defended.

"If you don't brush your teeth I'm going to hit you with my favorite frying pan" I warned him and he nodded.

"Leo, these guys are genetically engineered to handle these kind of climates. You're not" Dad explained.

"I can handle extreme cold" Leo protested.

"Leo, you get brain freeze from chewing mint gum" Dad said.

"And you got brain freeze yesterday from eating one spoon of ice-cream" I said and he glared at both of us.

Dad's phone went off and he picked it up.

"Davenport. What?! Well, that's terrible! I mean, that's awesome" Dad said as he walked away from us and we followed him.

"But that's terrible! I- I gotta do something" Dad said and we once again followed him.

He soon hung up and put his phone away.

"What's going on? What's so terrible?" Adam asked in concern.

"I created the world's fastest train, but now it's speeding out of control full of highly explosive nuclonium towards downtown Welkerville" Dad explained.

"Well, then what was awesome?" I asked.

"It's going like 400 miles an hour" Dad said.

"Ho ho ho ho" Leo said, "that's really cool" I said and we all nodded.

"My entire career is riding or perhaps crashing on this train! I don't understand it! My design was flawless" Dad explained in frustration.

"So flawless you forgot to include an emergency brake?" Leo asked.

"No. I never counted on the conductor dropping his papaya smoothie all over the controls and then jumping off the train" Dad explained.

"Well, if I were to build a high-speed train, the first thing I would have put in was a cup holder. Oh! And one of those bumper stickers on the back that says, I brake for cows" Adam said.

'Sometimes I wonder if dad dropped him as a baby' I thought.

"When stuff like this happens, they always blame the scientist. This is human error. Scientists don't make mistakes" Dad explained.

I then heard tapping sounds, I looked up and gasped.

Chase was still in his capsule, completely frozen and covered in isicles.

"Chase. Now I have to explain the whole train story again" Dad complained.

"Ohh" Adam and the others groaned.

I rolled my eyes at them and immediately took Chase out of his capsule.

I sat him down on a nearby chair and ran upstairs to get some blankets.

I got like three blankets and quickly made some hot chocolate for him.

I ran back down and immediately wrapped him up with the blankets.

"Here, I made this for you so you could warm up" I said, handing him the hot chocolate.

He smiled at me and took the hot chocolate from my hands.

"Thank you babe" Chase said.

I smiled and kiss his forehead, "anything for you baby" I said.

"The good news is, whenever I invent something, I always create a backup device to support it" Dad explained as he pulled something out from a black bag.

"As opposed to just building it right the first time" Chase said, I laughed while dad glared at him.

"Ya know, I think I liked you better frozen" Dad said and I glared at him.

"Shut up, that's my boyfriend you're talking about" I warned him.

"My auxiliary decelerator will stop anything. Ocean liners, freight trains, tanks, eighteen-wheelers, twelve-wheelers-" Dad said but Leo cut him off.

"Does it stop unnecessarily long explanations?" Leo asked.

"Apparently so. Only problem is, I can't figure out how to get it on the train" Dad said.

"You guys thinkin' what I'm thinkin'?" Bree said with a smile.

"Oh gosh no" I groaned in annoyance, knowing damn well where this was going.

"Our first mission" Chase and Bree said together.

"I want a pet pig" Adam said, causing the two to look at him and me to giggle.

"No. No, no, no. You are not prepared for this kind of mission. It is a highly volatile situation. Down the line. Fingers crossed, there will be plenty of other horrible disasters" Dad refused and I sighed in relief.

"Yeah, but... You need to stop this train now. And you need us to help you do it. Your career depends on it" Chase argued back.

"Why must you be so smart and cute at the same time?" I asked, making him chuckle and kiss my cheek.

"Please, Mr. Davenport. This is what you trained us for" Bree begged.

Dad looked at them and sighed.

"All right, you gotta leave the nest sometime" Dad said, making the three of them cheer and me shake my head, but smile.

"Okay, get in your capsules, guys. I can't believe I'm saying this. It's time to upgrade your mission suits" Dad said.

"I hope you addressed the chafing problem" Adam said.

All three of them entered their capsules and soon came out with new awesome mission suits.

And I have to say Chase looked more handsome then he already was.

And I find myself staring at him...but...can you blame me.

"Sweet! Ooh! I see you put in seat warmers" Adam said with a smile.

"All right... We'll be able to use these earpieces to communicate, and I'll monitor your progress on the train surveillance system. That way if you blow yourselves up in a fiery explosion I can watch it unfold in glorious HD" Dad explained, making all of us look at him weirdly.

"That came out wrong" Dad said, "you don't say" I said while rolling my eyes.

"We get our first mission" Chase cheered.

"And we get to save lives" Bree cheered.

"Seriously, I want a pig" Adam said.

"Bree" Dad said while handing her an ear piece.

"Chase" Dad said while handing him an ear piece.

"Adam" Dad said, and he was about to give him the ear piece but Leo stepped in front of Adam and took it away from dad.

"Hey" Adam complained, "leo" Dad warned.

"What am I supposed to use, two cans and a string?" Leo asked and I scoffed.

Soon we heard footsteps, we turned around and saw Tasha walking into the lab wearing a more professional outfit.

"Well, your favorite news reporter just got their big break" Tasha said with a huge smile.

"Linda Montieres?" Chase asked.

"Chip Spudner?" Bree asked.

"And Tom Constan with sports?" Adam asked.

"No you idiots, she's talking about herself" I said.

"Luna's right, I am done reporting on singing dogs and babies who look like ex-presidents. The network finally gave me a real assignment. I'm covering a runaway train" Tasha explained.

"No way! Ain't that a coinky-dink? Mr. Davenport-" Adam started but dad cut him off.

"Is, uh- is, uh, so proud of you, honey" Dad said with a nervous smile.

"Will you watch Leo and Luna? I have a train to catch" Tasha asked.

"Absolutely. And don't forget, be balanced and fair, collect all the facts, and blame the conducto- he's an idiot" Dad said while pushing Tasha out of the lab.

Tasha nodded and smiled before leaving.

"This stinks. Everybody gets to go on an adventure but me" Leo said.

"Hey, I'm going to be stuck here too, you're not the only one" I said as I crossed my arms.

"Leo, just because you can't go on the train doesn't mean we can't have fun here. I'll pop in the Gooby the Spunky Caboose DVD for you" Dad said.

"I'm fourteen" Leo deadpanned.

"You are?" I asked and he glared at me.

"Okay, then pop it in yourself" Dad said, making me laugh.

"Come on, guys, we don't have a lot of time. We gotta get you in your gear" Dad said.

I quickly made my way over to Chase and kissed him softly on the lips.

"Be safe" I whispered.

"Of course" Chase said.

I smiled and we kissed one more time before pulling away.

"See you when I get back" Chase said and I smiled.

He gave me one last kiss on the lips before running out the lab.

A Few Hours Later

After taking a nice nap I made my way back into the lab.

Dad was sitting in his chair, watching the three of them on their mission and guiding them.

I made my way over to him, grabbed my ear piece and watched with him.

"Chase, locate the onboard braking system. Bree, inspect the tanks for leaks, and Adam, get a picture of the speedometer for my web page. Wow" Dad explained, trying to catch his breath.

I giggled and shook my head at him.

I looked at Dad's laptop where the others were.

My eyes widened when I saw the mission bag moving.

"Dad" I said.

"What is it pumpkin?" Dad asked.

"Why is the mission bag moving?" I asked.

Dad looked at me confused before we both looked and saw that...LEO was inside the bag.

"What the fuck?" I yelled.

"Leo" Dad yelled.

"Leo, what are you doing here?!" I heard Bree asked.

"Joining the mission. I want to be like you guys" Leo said, stepping out of the bag.

"But Leo, you're not like us. And I don't mean that in a bad way, we just have really cool, super-fun features, and you don't" Adam said.

I rolled my eyes before I turned around and saw the decelerator on the floor.

I gritted my teeth in anger and picked it up.

"Uh, Leo, where's the decelerator we need to stop this train?" Chase asked.

"You mean the pointy metal thing that was poking me in the butt?" Leo asked.

"It's right here" I yelled in anger, everyone turned around and their eyes widened in shock.

Dad was getting angry as he slowly got up from his chair.

"Leo, I am supposed to be watching you" Dad said, "and you are- in glorious HD" Leo said with a smile.

"You're definitely getting punched when you return" I muttered under my breath.

"Mr. Davenport, what are we gonna do?" Bree asked.

"I'm coming to get Leo. If he blows up on that train, I'm gonna have to get Tasha a puppy" Dad said.

"Or she can get herself a new husband" I said, making dad glare at me and the others laugh.

"I'll bring the decelerator in my high-speed helicopter. Wow! How many guys can say that they have to chase their high-speed train in their high-speed helicopter? I'm awesome! Okay, I'll be right there" Dad explained.

"Pumpkin I need you to stay home" Dad said.

"What, why can't I come? I want to help" I asked.

"I know you do, but this is really dangerous. I know you can take care of yourself, but if something were to go wrong then you and the others could get hurt. I can't lose my kids or my daughter" Dad explained.

I smiled softly at him and sighed, knowing damn well I wasn't going to win.

"Alright, alright, I'll stay" I said and dad smiled.

"Thank you pumpkin" Dad said and pulled me into a hug

I smiled and hugged back, we pulled away and he kissed me on the forehead.

"I'll be back soon, I promise" Dad said.

"I trust you dad" I said and he smiled.

He closed his laptop and quickly ran out the lab.

I sighed sadly before taking out my ear piece and placing it on dad's table.

'Looks like I'm alone for the time being' I thought.

A Few Hours Later

A few hours have passed and they haven't returned. I'm getting annoyed and worried.

Suddenly Eddy appeared.

"Hey Luna" Eddy said and I smiled.

"Hey Edds" I said with a smile.

"Your dad and those laser brains still haven't returned?" Eddy asked and I laughed.

"Nope, and I'm getting worried" I said as I ran my hand through my hair.

"I'm worried something happened to them, what if they got hurt? And what am I going to tell Tasha if she gets home first and they're not here yet" I asked in concern.

"Don't stress Luna, I'm sure they're fine. Well, not sure about Leo, in case you haven't noticed, he's not bionic and doesn't have the strongest body" Eddy said.

I burst out laughing and nodded.

Eddy always knows how to make me feel better.

"You do make a good point" I said with a giggle.

"What you talking about? I always do" Eddy said, making me laugh even more.

"Hey, why don't you sing something? That always makes you feel better" Eddy said.

"I'm not sure, I haven't sung in a while. The last time I sung was at the school dance, and that was like a week ago" I said.

"Oh come on, don't be scared, you're voice is always beautiful, I love hearing you sing" Eddy said, making me smile.

"Alright, if you really want me to" I said.

I walked over to the other side of the lab and grabbed my guitar from it's hidden place.

I made my way back over to Eddy, grabbed a chair and sat down in front of him.

"Alright, are you ready?" I asked.

"Always" Eddy said.

I smiled and looked down.

I started playing, slowing and softly before singing.

A few tears streamed down my face. Just thinking about dad and all the memories we made together. 

I smiled, because if dad never took me in, I don't know where I would be at this very moment.

I still go by the name Luna Walker. I might hate my real parents, but they're still apart of me. I want to learn the truth about them, about why they abandoned me. 

Keeping my real name might help me find them, or help them find me. But, I doubt they're even looking for me.

But...when I'm ready, and when I've learned the truth, and learned to finally move on from my real parents, I'll have dad change my name to Luna Davenport.

I slowly stopped playing my guitar and smiled.

"WHOOO, GO LUNA" Eddy cheered. 

I laughed and giggled at him.

"Glad you liked it Edds" I said with a smile.

I then heard clapping from behind me. I turned around and saw the entire family there.

They were all smiling and clapping for me, dad looked at me in shock but he still smiled and clapped.

I blushed in embarrassment and quickly put my guitar down.

"How long have you guys been there?" I asked.

"Long enough to hear you singing sweetheart" Tasha said with a smile, making me blush even more.

I blushed and looked at Chase who was smirking, he sent me a wink, making me blush even more.

I groaned and sat up from my chair.

"Pumpkin, you're singing was amazing, I never even knew you could sing" Dad said, still in shock.

I smiled at him and nodded.

"Yeah, I've known how to sing for a while" I said.

"How come you never told me?" Dad asked.

I rubbed my arm and looked away from him.

"I was scared, I thought that my singing was terrible and I didn't want to bore you with it" I explained.

Dad smiled at me and caressed my cheek.

"Oh pumpkin, you never bore me with anything, if anything I would've stopped all my work just to hear you sing" Dad reassured me.

"Really?" I asked and he nodded.

"I would've loved hearing you sing, your voice is beautiful" Dad said, making me smile even more.

I pulled him into a hug, "thank you dad, I love you" I said.

"Oh, I love you more pumpkin" Dad said as he kissed my cheek.

We pulled away from the hug and the others walked over.

"Amazing singing bestie" Bree said and I giggled.

"Thanks" I said.

"Come on, let's all head up to the kitchen and eat some dinner" Tasha said.

"Yes please" everyone, minus me, yelled and I laughed.

"Come on then" Tasha said as we all walked to the elevator.

Chase walked up to me and wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"Lovely singing voice babe" Chase said.

I smiled and kissed his hand and laid my head on his shoulder.

"Thank you babe" I said.

He chuckled and kissed my head as the elevator doors closed and took us back upstairs.
