(This chapter takes place after the events of the episode 3 from season 3)

Adam has been working at the diner for a month and is about to collect his paycheck.

"okay bunch of scumbags" Mr. Franklin, the cafeteria owner shouts to the employees, he is about to hand over the envelopes with the payments.

"this guy scares me" Adam says standing next to Harper "Mr. Franklin!?" Harper asks "yeah, he's short and grumpy and has a mustache...he reminds me of the principal at my school" Adam says.

"at least your principal doesn't smell like burnt bacon" Harper rolls her eyes, Adam looks at her with an expression that says "yeah she does" Harper laughs and Adam smiles at her.

"Stop laughing Chip and Dale!" Mr. Franklin irritably says "sorry sir" Adam says "yeah, but if we're going to be nicknamed after a famous duo we prefer Batman and Robin" Harper says.

"oh I agree with her" Adam says "and with that he just demonstrated who Robin is" Harper says leaning with her arm on Adam's shoulder, Adam nods thinking Harper is Robin.

"just get the envelopes and get back to work before I change my mind" Mr. Franklin says.

"yeah money!" Adam says opening the envelope.

Harper opens hers, she takes the wad of money and just quickly slides her finger over the bills and looks at Mr. Franklin.

"why am I missing exactly 100 dollars from my salary?" Harper says indignantly.

"you didn't even count you just ran your fingers over the bills" Mr. Franklin says "oh believe me I counted more than once" Harper smirk.

"and it's not the first time you've done that either, where's my money?" Harper says "I discounted" Mr. Franklin says.

"why!?" Harper says "because I don't go with your face, lady "I count fast"!" He angrily says "you broke my cash register!" Mr. Franklin says.

"Okay... but you already cashed the cash register last month..." Harper crosses her arms.

Adam holds his money in his hand, he's counting note by note.

"damn I thought you wouldn't notice" Mr. Franklin says "yes, i noticed...Batman here doesn't lose sight of anything!" Harper says "I thought I was Batman!" Adam says, Harper glances at him.

"Mr. Franklin I know I may not be your best employee but let's face it I'm pretty much the only one..." Harper laughs until she looks at Franklin's serious face.

"Anyway.....I need more money there's no way you could break the bank for me Frankie? huh?" Harper says giving Mr. Franklin a friendly punch on the arm.

"don't call me that" Mr. Franklin says, Harper lower her arms.

"And no! I won't give you a raise" he says "Oh come on, I've been here for two years whether or not I'm the oldest employee! I think I deserve it" Harper follows him.

"Why do you need money all of a sudden?" He asks "Okay, since you asked, is about to launch the most complete PC gamer in the world with Best Processor,16 G RAM memory, Video Card AMD RX 550...." Harper gets excited "Okay girl you got your raise just stop talking!!" Mr. Franklin says angrily.

"Really!?" She asks "yeah but only cuz in return you'll train him" he says pointing at Adam.

Who is making a tower of coffee cups but he sneezes and knocks the cups to the floor "oh boy!" Harper says "good luck with that" mister Franklin says patting her on the back.

Later, Adam is asleep on the counter, Harper appears and shakes her head.

"Adam" she says, he keeps sleeping "ADAM!" She says again, she picks up a horn and blows it in his ear, he falls off the counter.

"Wow Harper why is that for?" Adam says with his hand on his head "Rule number one of life as a waiter dear, YOU DON'T SLEEP ON THE COUNTER!" Harper says irritably.

"fine! I sleep in the supply room" Adam says going "no!" Harper says pushing him back.

"Listen, I was assigned to train you to be a good employee... do you know what that means!?" Harper asks "Are we going to spend a lot of time together!?" Adam says, Harper smiles sarcastically.

"means from now on i speak and you OBEY!" Harper says "Are you saying, that you are my boss!?" Adam says, Harper realizes "That's basically it!" She says.

"why?" Adam says "because I need money and you are my source now..." Harper presses the horn again, and Adam covers his ears.

"come on! you have work to do and I have money to earn!" Harper says.

"Uhg! I didn't expect to work today" Adam says "you didn't expect to work at your job!?" Harper says "yeah" Adam says, Harper shakes her head and smiles.

"okay, here!" Harper puts a glass in front of Adam.

Adam stares at the glass "what am I supposed to do with it?" Adam says "you have exactly 3 minutes to make a chocolate vanilla cream milkshake" Harper says picking up a timer.

"3 minutes?" Adam says "And that's me being reasonable, I'll do it in 1 min" Harper smiles proudly.

"really?" Adam says "don't question me just do it!" Harper says "okay okay!" Adam says.

He tries to do it but time runs out "stop! It's already failed, do it again" she changes the glass, Adam tries again.

"No! you don't put the cream before the ice cream, Do it again!" Harper says "How much longer do I need to do this?" Adam says "until you do it right, now, do it again!" Harper says.

Adam comes home exhausted, Chase walks into the living room and sees Adam sitting on the floor.

"hard day at work huh?" Chase says "you have no idea" Adam stands up.

"Harper is training me so she can get a raise" Adam says "so she's your boss now?" Chase says "yeah...but she's very bossy....and short...ha she looks like you!" Adam says, Chase frowns and shakes his head.

"But of course..." Adam puts his hand on Chase's shoulder "a cooler and more attractive version of you" Adam smiles, Chase takes his hand off his shoulder.

"Honestly I'm surprised she took so long to start yelling at you" Chase says.

"Believe me making drinks all day is harder than it looks...did you ou know there's an exact order to put things in the cup!?" Adam says.

"so you didn't impress her did you?" Chase says "Nope" Adam says, Adam falls on the couch.

Chase look at him with pity "come on, I'll help you practice this" Chase says "Really?" Adam says "yeah!" Chase
says.

"why?" Adam says "As much fun as it is to watch you get rejected by a girl, I really want to see you happy so I'm going to help you" Chase says going into the kitchen.

"thanks Chase!" Adam says "But do you know how to make milk shakes!?" Adam says "Adam, I'm the smartest man in the world, obviously I know how to make milk shakes it's like the basics!" Chase says "sure" Adam says.

"so show me what you know!" Chase says, Adam starts making the drink "preferably for today!" Chase says pressuring Adam.

"I'm trying!" Adam says "so try faster!" Chase says, Adam drops the glass on the floor.

"wow that was...""deplorable!" Adam says along with Chase, Chase makes a confused face.

"yeah! Harper says the exact same thing....I don't know what it means but she doesn't make it look good" Adam says "Do it again!" Chase says getting another glass.

The next day Adam takes the orders and makes the milk shakes perfectly.

"wow you're killing it!" Harper says "hear that Mr Franklin Adam is KILLING IT!" Harper says towards the back.

"thanks Harper" Adam says "I confess my expectations were pretty low for you" Harper says.

"who's defaable now huh!?" Adam says "The word is deplorable" Harper says "yeah whatever, I just know I'm not that!" Adam says, Harper smiles at him.

"Adam I know I may have been overreacting...I may have been a bit bossy but believe me I'm only like that if I have a reason....and usually that reason is money" Harper says.

"relax....My brother is much worse than you" Adam says remembering how demanding Chase was with him, Harper smiles when she realizes that Adam was committed enough to train at home.

Mr. Franklin appears, Harper run to him.

"So... I did what you asked, not only did, I do it perfectly, so I think I deserve my pay" Harper says "not so fast" Mr. Franklin says.

"customers are complaining that the coffees are not hot enough" He says "must be a problem with the machine" Harper says.

"exactly and I'll use your money to buy a new one" he says "what?" Harper says "Exactly!" He says.

"that's not fair!" Harper says "Life isn't fair girl" Mr. Franklin says.

"I can fix the machine!" Harper says "Oh so now you're a mechanic too!?" He says.

"I can do it, Just give me some time" Harper says "I don't have time, Today we're sold out.... that hasn't happened for months I need to keep customers" he says.

"so everything I did didn't help at all!?" Harper says "you're a failure, accept that it, hurts less" he says, Harper lowers her head.

"are you okay?" Adam says he overheard the conversation "yeah, I'm just never going to get that raise" Harper says.

"you can fix the machine" Adam says "But this is going to take hours I need something quick" Harper says, she looks at him upset and leaves to check the machine.

"Fast!? My heat vision is fast!" Adam tells himself.

Adam starts secretly using heat vision to heat up coffee, he asks everyone to leave their reviews.

Harper is in the back room opening the coffee machine and trying to fix it.

"come on sweetie you don't look so complicated" Harper tells the machine picking up two wires, she analyzes the machine.

She sighs and puts her head down, she lowers her head into the machine by accident, what causes a little shock.

"owcht!" She says "stupid machine!" She tells the machine.

"Harper!" Adam says walking in "hey!" She says "Wow you look deplorable!" Adam says, Harper looks at him "yeah now you just look mad" Adam says.

"Adam, do you want me to put your head in the machine?" Harper says irritably.

"You will be very happy... you might even want to kiss me" Adam says "That ain't gonna happen, not even in a parallel universe" Harper says.

"Girl!" Mr. Franklin says "congratulations customers never gave us better reviews" he says.

"seriously!?" Harper says "sure Harper! You managed to heat the drinks in a practical and quick way" Adam says "did I?" Harper says, Adam winks at her.

"oohh! yeah I did it! since I.." she pushes Mr. Franklin out of the room for him not to see the machine "I fixed the coffee machine!" She smiles "yeah she fixed it!" Adam puts his arm around her, and she smiles.

"So I got my pay raise!?" Harper says "yeah whatever" Mr. Franklin says rolling his eyes "yey!" Harper says excitedly Mr. Franklin Leaves.

"how did you do that?" Harper asks Adam "uh...i just...I took a flamethrower and..."Adam tries to explain "a flamethrower!?" Harper says.

"So...how's the coffee machine fix?" Adam says changing the subject "Uh okay!? I'm going to be here all day fixing this thing, the problem is simple but the machine is delicate" Harper says turning back to the machine.

"seriously Adam I don't know how you did it but giving me credit was really cool...I really appreciate it!" Harper says "Of course, I'm here to help you like you helped me" Adam says.

"thanks I...don't even know how to thank you" Harper says "I might have an idea" Adam says.

"what?" Harper says, already knowing his answer "go out on a date with me, just one!" Adam says.

"Adam!" Harper says "Please!" Adam says "I don't understand why you're so into this" Harper says "because I like you, we spend a good time together" Adam says "As friends!" Harper says.

Adam lowers his head "look, Just one date! But you have to promise me that at the end of the night if we see that it's not going to work out anyway....you'll still be my friend" Harper says.

"of course!" Adam says "Promise!?" Harper says "I promise" Adam smiles.

"Now get back to work!" Harper says "You already got your raise, you don't have to keep bossing me around!" Adam says "I know but I'm good at this!" Harper smiles.
