Douglas and Mr Davenport lead everyone to an abandoned shed.

"What is this place?" Leo asks lighting a flashlight "this was one of my oldest labs" Douglas says.

"Is this where you came after I stole them from you?" Mr Davenport asks "yeah Donny and this is where I planned my revenge and built Marcus" Douglas says "ugh! Marcus!" Leo rolls his eyes.

"So a lair?" Harper smirk "It's not a lair, it's just the place where my evil plans took over" Douglas says "A lair!" Chase smiles in agreement with Harper.

"It's not a lair, what do you guys think I'm the joker!?" Douglas says irritably "Do you know who the joker is?" Leo
says.

"What does this advance do!" Adam says, Mr Davenport hit his hand "Adam! don't touch anything!" Mr Davenport says.

"Uhg why this place is so dark and gross and so many cobwebs" Bree says "cuz it's a lair" Harper says "It's not a lair!" Douglas says angrily "okay isn't it, the cobwebs and bad lighting it's because Douglas has terrible taste in decorating"
Harper says.

"What are we doing here again?" Adam asks "Douglas and I are trying to increase the security of the lab and all of Davenport Industries, now that the whole world knows about you guys All care is little" Mr Davenport says.

"This is the place with the best security structure I've ever created" Douglas says "let's look for the blueprints and all the security files of this place, anything can be useful" Mr Davenport says.

"I did a scan of the site but I can't see anything" Chase says "it's because I created this place to block the signal from some of your bionics, but that will only work with the older ones" Douglas says.

"relax I'll take care of it" Harper says
putting on glasses.

"what's with those glasses of yours anyway?" Adam asks "they do something amazing you won't believe it" she says adjusting her glasses "uh what?" Adam says excitedly "cures myopia, makes me see" Harper says, Adam makes a serious face.

"I'm kidding, I mean they do that too but I added a few extra things" Harper says looking around "Like what?" Bree asks "basic stuff really, night vision, thermo scanner, and x-ray" Harper says.

Harper looks Chase up and down with her glasses "ducklings Chase? Are you 8?" Harper smiles, Chase's eyes widen and pulls his bag in front of him "uh... it's just that...is laundry day" Chase says uncomfortably, Harper laughs.

"can you see anything?" Mr Davenport asks "Did you set up a mobile structure?" Harper asks "Since you mentioned....This whole place is basically one huge trap" Douglas says "What?" Everyone asks.

"what do you mean a big trap Douglas, what are you talking about?" Chase asks.

"if one of you steps in a place you shouldn't, this whole place will turn into what I like to call the DavenMaze" Douglas says "I can't believe you stole DavenMaze's idea, that was my idea!" Mr Davenport says.

"What is a DavenMaze!?" Leo asks "what's with this need to name everything after you?" Harper asks "Yeah, didn't you realize it never gets good?" Bree says.

"well, the initial idea for DavenMaze came when I was 15 and wanted to have my own challenge program, you know the ones with multiple challenges, where teams have to go through fake quicksand, or those walls that throw balls at you" Mr Davenport says excitedly "Oh I know those shows that old people watch" Leo says.

"well I adapted the idea,and I turned Donny's friendly maze into a deadly maze" Douglas says "this place
doesn't look like a maze to me" Adam says looking around.

"it's because it's disabled,so be careful not to activate the DavenMaze security system, because I don't know how to deactivate it, I lost all access to this place a long time ago" Douglas says "You're very responsible with your stuff aren't you" Chase says sarcastically.

"we can go now!? This place scares me" Leo says, they light flashlights, and start walking around the place.

They enter what looks like a large round hall, several computers and cabinets with files thrown on the floor, in addition to robotic parts and blueprints.

"organization is not your strong point, right" Chase says "It was more organized when I worked here" Douglas says.

Harper opens a book and a spider is on her hand "Spider!!" She says in desperation shaking her hand, she drops the spider to the ground and steps three times in it.

"Are you afraid of spiders?" Adam asks "Of course not, no, I'm disgusted it's different" Harper says "that's what scared people say" Adam says, Harper rolls her eyes.

"it's hard to see what's important and what's not with it being so dark in here" Mr Davenport says "Let me turn the light on for you guys" Adam says flipping a red switch on the wall.

"ADAM NO!!" Harper, Chase and Leo say "DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING!" Bree, Douglas and Mr Davenport say, all running towards Adam who is startled by their reaction.

The lights in the place come on, everyone looks around, and sighs with relief.

"see it was just the lights" Adam says "what did you think was going to happen?" Adam says.

Suddenly the main door closes,the smaller doors too "what's going on?" Bree ask "stay together!" Chase
says.

Adam tries to push the button again but Harper walks over and grabs his hand "stop pushing that damn button!" Harper says irritably.

They hear gears turning "It's the DavenMaze!" Douglas says, from the ground walls begin to rise rapidly.

"Douglas watch out!!" Chase says
pulling Douglas A wall goes up where he was.

"Mr Davenport" Bree says pushing him where another wall comes up, the wall leaves Bree trapped on the other side, "Bree!" Mr Davenport says.

"Get over here!" Douglas tells Harper and Adam they try to get to them but a wall comes up blocking the way "Harper!" Chase yells "Adam!" Douglas screams.

"Leo stay with me" Mr Davenport says leaving Leo next to him, a wall rises beside them, several walls rise around the great round hall

"What's going on now?" Chase asks as he notices the floor is turning a little slower "the maze is shuffling like you shuffle a Rubik's Cube" Douglas says "This is the worst security system I've ever seen!" Chase screams in panic.

"for me it was fun at the time, watching people leave here is great entertainment" Dougals smiles, Chase looks at him annoyed.

Suddenly the walls stop rising from the ground stop turning, maze ready.

"HEY!" Harper yells "Mr Davenport!!" Adam says "Dougals! Anyone!?" Harper says "Bree!" Adam says "Chase!" Harper yells, "Leo!" Adam shouts "Did we forget someone?" Adam says, Harper rolls her eyes.

She uses her glasses to try to find someone with x-ray vision through walls, "come on we gotta find the others" Harper says.

Harper and Adam start to walk through the maze.

Bree ends up alone but she uses super speed to trace several different paths until she finds someone.

Mr Davenport and Leo start to walk through the maze too.

"Okay what else do we need to know about DavenMaze!?" Chase says angrily.

"no big deal just some deadly challenges that may or may not come our way" Douglas says apprehensively "what!?" Chase freak out.

"Relax Chase!" Douglas says "Oh sure! I'm going to relax, I'm going to relax while the rest may or may not have been crushed by walls!! It's no big deal!" Chase shouts.

"I see that DavenMaze lost its fun" Douglas says "No I think it's going to
be really fun to find Davenpancakes from our friends out there!" Chase says sarcastically.

"Listen, there's an emergency exit! I know where it is, we just have to find the others and exit through the underground turnnel" Douglas says "not to mention the fact that we try to be alive by then!?" Chase says "just details Chase" Douglas starts walking.

Harper and Adam are walking through the maze corridors.

"What's that?" Adam screams seeing something come towards them, Harper takes the stun baton and hits it.

"it was just a bat" she says looking at the ground "Aw did you kill him?" Adam says with pity "uh.." Harper puts her foot on the bat checking if it's alive "No, he's just resting.." Harper says nervously "let's go!" She says pulling Adam so he doesn't look at the bat.

They walk some more "you hear that!?" Harper says, they hear voices "it's a high, squeaky voice" Adam says, they listen carefully "Oh it's Chase" Adam says smiling.

"it's coming from the other side of the wall, exactly two walls from here" Harper says scanning the wall with the glasses.

"how are we going to get there, I don't think I can use my super strength to break the wall" Adam says "No you can't Douglas designed this to be proof of your bionics" Harper says thinking.

"Over there" she points up "A duct?" Adam says "The duct is short but it leads to the other side" Harper says "Cool let's go through it then" Adam says.

"okay, try to open the duct grate" Harper says, Adam uses heat vision to make the duct grate fall "Makes me so proud when you think fast" Harper says.

Adam pulls out a nearby table for him to stand on "here I'll lift you up there" Adam tells Harper.

Harper looks at him then duct air "what's up?" Adam asks "nothing is just that, the duct is dark and the dark has..." Harper says "Spiders?" Adam says "Yeah" Harper rolls her eyes.

"seriously, you're not afraid of Perry but you're afraid of spiders?" Adam says "Well there aren't over 30 types of venomous Perry in the world!" Harper says "Thank God no, one is poisonous enough" Adam says.

"Okay, here I go" Harper takes Adam's hand and she leans on his shoulder and he lifts her until she reaches the duct.

"Ah webs!" Harper says "I promise there aren't any spiders in there" Adam says while making sure she won't fall "How can you be sure!?" Harper says entering the duct.

Adam jumps off the table lifting the duct, the two begin to crawl through the duct, they reach the grid where they heard Chase's voice.

Adam uses heat vision again, making the duct grate fall, Chase and Douglas get scared with the falling grid and go back to see what it is.

"Adam!" Chase and Douglas say upon seeing Adam descending from the ceiling duct "Hey!" Adam says as he looks up.

Harper goes down and Adam catches her to break her fall "Girl!" Douglas says "Harper!" Chase says smiling, he runs up to her excitedly, as if he's going to hug her but when he gets close enough he doesn't, he catches himself and looks at her awkwardly.

"nice to see you guys" Harper says "it's a relief we've got two, now we have to find Donald Bree and Leo and get out of here" Douglas says.

"does that mean there's a way out?" Harper asks "what idiot would build an entire facility without an emergency exit?" Douglas says "the same guy who built a maze of death in his own lab!" Harper says.

"Is this the guy you were inspired to do all this?" Adam asks "she's talking about him!" Chase says "Oh yeah that was really stupid!" Adam says "even Adam noticed" Chase says turning and facing Douglas.

Everyone goes back to walking through the maze.

Meanwhile Bree ends up finding Mr Davenport and Leo, she starts using super speed to take them through the maze until she finds the rest.

Adam, Chase, Douglas and Harper enter a strange room "why does this room have different walls from the rest?" Harper asks "I'm trying to remember, it must be nothing" Douglas says.

"Oh I'm not taking any chances again I'm getting out of here" Adam says going ahead and walking out the door.

"Adam we have to stick together!" Chase says as he says he steps forward and steps on a secret button on the floor "oh no!" He says when he sees that the second he steps on the button the door closes.

Adam runs out of the room "a button on the floor, seriously dude stop watching Indiana Jones!" Harpe tells Douglas.

"just to say I remembered this room!" Douglas says "what this room do?" Chase asks, the walls of the room begin to compress, "the walls are closing in!" Harper says, they start looking at the walls.

Douglas goes to the other side of the room, he takes a screwdriver from his pocket and breaks a wall tile revealing wires and a screen "I think I can turn this thing off" Douglas says crouched on the floor in front of the wire.

"Quick!" Chase says he tries to use bionics to delay the walls but it doesn't work.

Harper looks around with a startled look the salt gets smaller and smaller and smaller, the space on the floor starts to get thin.

Douglas lays down on the floor to move the wires, to guarantee more time without the wall crushing him "Faster Douglas has no more time!" Harper says "I'm trying, stop making me nervous, I'm not going to concentrate like this" Douglas complains.

Harper walks backwards facing the wall, scared of not knowing what to do, she starts to walk backwards towards Chase without realizing it, as the wall comes closer.

The room is already almost completely compressed, from all sides, the walls are moving fast.

"Harper I'm behind you!" Chase says seeing that she didn't realize it "what?" Harper says turning around, when she realizes, she stumbles slightly on his foot, the wall pushes her, and the other wall pushes him, Harper can't get out anymore the room is too narrow to move.

Harper and Chase end up face to face as the walls move making the room narrower and narrower.

Dougals takes a slight shock from the wires and continues to fix them "Uh Douglas!" Harper says nervously placing her hands on the wall, one on either side of Chase's face to try and keep away from him while the walls compress.

"Do you by any chance know what you're doing?" Chase asks nervously "I know, it's just delicate, any wrong wire will make the walls compress in at once" Douglas says.

Harper turns her face away not wanting to look Chase in the eyes, Chase starts to get nervous, he looks up, the walls move more, the space between them gets smaller, much smaller.

"I did it!" Dougals says, the walls stop, Harper and Chase sigh in relief, but they're still in the same situation, between the narrow walls.

"Just one more second and I'll reverse the system making the walls go back to normal" Dougals says.

Douglas looks at the way Harper and Chase are facing each other "or do you want to stay like this?" Douglas says "No!" Chase and Harper yell at him.

Harper sighs in relief that the walls have stopped and starts laughing lightly, Chase finally looks up at her and smiles at her laughter, he's so close he literally feels her laughter.

Harper feels his gaze and slowly looks at him, Chase looks into Harper's eyes and she looks into his, he gives her a smile and she a slight frown.

Chase tries to avoid it but he ends up looking for a second at her lips and then at her eyes again, that's when Douglas reverses the walls, which start to move away.

Harper starts to walk away from Chase, with a confused look, he remains in the same place, but the two continue to look at each other.

Harper stares at Chase until the door opens "Let's get out of here!" Douglas says, Harper blinks back to reality and leaves, Chase follows her with his eyes, that's when he notices his breathing accelerated.

"Are you okay Chase?" Douglas asks, Chase looks at him, he looks scared and disappointed at the same time "Yes" he says and leaves the room.

Douglas looks at Chase and then looks at the room remembering the scene, trying to understand what happened.

When they leave Adam gets up from the floor where he was sitting "Oh good! I thought I wasn't going to see you anymore" Adam says hugging Harper and Douglas.

Chase approaches a little later, Adam hugs him too, Harper looks at Chase while Adam hugs him, when Chase notices she looks away and continues walking.

"What is this?" Douglas says overhearing something "It's Bree!" Adam says, they hear her super speed approaching.

Bree and Mr Davenport and Leo reach them, Bree lets go of the two, Leo falls to the ground and stays there.

"Just a minute, it was too fast for me, I can't stand it my head is spinning" Leo says on the floor, everyone gathers around them "I feel sick" Mr Davenport says kneeling on the floor "dramatics" Bree rolls her eyes.

"good to see you" Douglas says "great now that we're all here let's go" Chase says leading the way "where is the exit Douglas?" Mr Davenport asks "It's a little further underground, there's a tunnel that leads outside" Douglas says.

They go to the door just underground, Adam opens it and everyone starts to go down the stairs.

Douglas is a little behind "what are you doing?" Mr Davenport says "well, I can see that nothing useful is going to come out of here, So I'm gonna do what I do best" Douglas says "Blow this place up!" Douglas smiles "What!?" Mr Davenport says

"DavenMaze is gone Donny, Sorry" Douglas says putting his hand on Mr
Davenport's shoulder who looks at him with a judgmental look.

Bree takes the stairs, Chase waits for everyone to come down.

Chase and Harper exchange glances, Chase looks worried and Harper looks confused, she leaves.

"let's go!" Chase says, catching Mr Davenport and Douglas, they all exit the DavenMaze, which explodes minutes later.

Everyone walks away and watches the explosion "I only know one thing, I'm not going on any more family outings with you guys!" Harper says indignantly "I don't care if I'm family or not if Its a DavenSomething I'm out!" Bree says, she and Harper leave, Adam follow.

"should have gone with the challenge show" Mr Davenport "it would be nice to see you on the TVs in the nursing homes" Leo says, they both leave.

Chase looks at the explosion thoughtfully, Douglas stops beside him.

"you should have kissed her" Douglas says looking at the explosion too "what?" Chase says "At that moment in the maze, in that room...You should have kissed her" Douglas says "What? No! Why would I do that?" Chase says nervously.

"if I were you I would, and if she didn't like it I'd blame it on the wall" Douglas gives a slight smile, Chase looks at him with a look that says "Are you crazy man!?".

Douglas laughs "I'm kidding you!" Douglas says, Chase rolls his eyes "But the way you two were close, what else could you have done ?" Douglas says following Chase that he gets out of there quickly.

={Yup! This is the craziest chapter I've ever written, my mind travel a lot sometimes but the result wasn't so bad... and yes, I was inspired by Maze Runner for this chapter... I hope you guys liked it!!😊}
