Chapter Twenty: The Long Awaited Wedding
Chase's Pov
When the guys and I arrived at the venue we had gotten out of the car and made our way to the scene.
The guests were either sitting down, waiting for the ceremony to begin, or were standing and talking to their friends or making small chat with some.
Douglas had the guys and I stand in our places since we had to wait for the girls to arrive.
When we had gotten into our positions Douglas had Spin and Bob sit down since they weren't going to be giving Luna and I our rings till later.
Douglas ran off to make sure that everything else was set before the girls arrived.
As I stood at the altar with my hands clasped together I felt my nerves resurfacing.
Believe me when I say I'm happy that today is the day I am getting married to the love of my life.
It's the happiest day of my life.
But at the same time I am nervous as hell.
What if things go wrong today? What if Luna has second thoughts and doesn't want to marry me?
Oh god, I don't want that to happen. Never.
I don't want Luna to think that this was a bad idea and wants to call the wedding off because she's not ready.
I'm definitely ready, I've been ready since the day I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me.
I'm ready to call her my wife and I'm ready for us to start a new chapter in our lives.
But, what if she isn't?
Is there any chance that she thinks that we're rushing things?
Is there any chance that she thinks we should wait a little longer to get married?
Oh god, what if she doesn't even...
I snapped out of my thoughts when I felt a hand tap on my shoulder and turned to see Leo.
"I know what you're thinking and I want you to stop it right now" Leo scolded.
I felt another tap on my shoulder and looked to see Adam.
"He's right. Stop being a nervous wreck and calm down" Adam said.
I sighed, "I'm trying but it's hard".
"Why are you nervous in the first place?" Leo asked.
"Yeah. This is something you and Luna have wanted since forever, you should be excited" Nick added.
"I am excited, believe me. But I'm nervous because I'm worried I'll do or say something stupid and ruin everything" I explained.
The last thing I want is to ruin things on mine and Luna's wedding day.
Today is our special day and everything has to be perfect.
I need it to be perfect.
Adam sighed, running a hand down his face, before placing his hand on my shoulder.
"Relax, brother. Everything is going well. Just take a few deep breaths" Adam instructed.
Never in my life did I think I would ever take advice from Adam.
But he does have a point, I need to calm myself down.
So, I did as told and after taking a few deep breaths I felt myself relax.
I looked at my brother and offered him a small smile and he returned the gesture while patting my shoulder.
All of a sudden Douglas rushes down the isle and over to us.
"Get ready. The girls have arrived" Douglas told us.
The guys looked at each other and smiled before looking at me.
I looked at all of them and felt a smile of my own appear on my face.
This is it.
Luna's Pov
When the limo, yes we drove in a limo, came to a stop I knew we have arrived at the venue.
The girls were excited and I was too but at the same time I was very nervous.
Today is mine and Chase's wedding, it's our special day, and the last thing I want is to make a fool out of myself.
The driver opened the door for us and we all got out, thanking him as we did.
When Alexis and Bree got out they grabbed my hands and helped me out of the car.
I didn't want anything to happen to my dress.
Once I got out of the car I looked forward and was met with my dad and Douglas.
Their eyes widened when they saw me and almost immediately smiles appeared on their faces.
"Woah, Luna, you look amazing" Douglas complimented.
"Thank you" I smiled.
"Pumpkin, you look beautiful" Dad complimented.
"Thank you, dad" I smiled.
"Oh, Chase is going to melt when he sees you" Dad chuckled.
"I hope so" I giggled.
"Donald, Douglas, is everything ready?" Tasha asked.
"The boys are in their position. Spin and Bob have the rings. The guests are here and waiting" Dad nodded.
"What about you guys?" Douglas asked.
"Us bridesmaids are ready" Taylor smiled.
"The maid of honor is also ready" Bree chimed in.
"And us flower girls are ready too" Tasha and aunt Emily smiled.
"You already know that the bride is ready" I smiled, placing my hands onto my hips.
Dad and Douglas laughed in amusement.
Douglas ordered for Tasha and aunt Emily to follow him so they could get into positions since they would be walking down first.
Tasha and aunt Emily hugged me and wished me good luck before leaving with Douglas.
"Alright, girls, get into your positions because you guys are next after them" Dad ordered.
The girls nodded.
One by one they all hugged me and wished me good luck.
I smiled and thanked them before watching them leave.
When they were gone dad moved to stand at my side.
"Are you ready for this, pumpkin?" Dad asked.
"Ready as I'll ever be" I smiled.
Dad smiled back before offering his arm and I gladly took it.
We started walking and got into our positions which was behind my bridesmaids and maid of honor.
After they have walked down the isle, take their positions, dad and I will be walking down.
Before I knew it music started playing.
Tasha and aunt Emily walked down the isle first, tossing the flower petals as they did so.
Once they were close they sat down.
Bree, being my maid of honor, was the first one to walk down the isle and soon my bridesmaids followed after her.
They all got into positions, smiling and waving at the groomsmen.
Now, it was mine and Dad's turn.
Dad and I walked closer and my eyes widened when I saw how the place looked.
Oh, it's beautiful.
Everything is just how Chase and I wanted it to look.
It's beautiful. It's perfect.
Speaking of Chase.
The second my eyes landed on him I couldn't stop my eyes from widening or the way my heart fluttered at seeing him.
He looks so handsome in his suit.
He looks handsome with whatever he wears.
But, seeing him in that suit does something to me and I love it.
I love him. I always have and I always will.
Chase had the same reaction as me when he saw me and I swear I heard him let out a small gasp.
And even though I still stood far away from him I could tell his eyes were beginning to water.
Oh, he better not cry.
At least not now.
Because if he does then I'll start crying and I won't be able to stop.
One by one the guests stood up from their seats and turned to look at me.
I took a deep breath, feeling my nerves creep up a little, and tightened my grip on my dad's arm.
"Don't let me fall, dad" I whispered.
"Never" Dad whispered back, shaking his head.
I looked at dad and nodded and he nodded back.
Just like that we both started making our way down the isle.
I could feel the guests staring at me with amazement, I could hear a few of them whispering compliments about how good I looked and I could hear some giggles.
I didn't spare any of them a glance.
My gaze was completely locked onto Chase.
I just couldn't look away from him.
The same way he couldn't look away from me.
It didn't take long for dad and I to reach the altar.
When we got there dad turned to me and kissed my cheek causing me to smile at him.
He looked at Chase and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Take care of her" Dad ordered.
"I will. I promise" Chase nodded.
Dad offered him a small smile and gave his shoulder a squeeze before pulling away.
Dad handed me to Chase and we both smiled at him.
Dad nodded at us before moving to sit next to Tasha.
Chase and I held hands, smiles on our faces, and stared into each others eyes.
"Sweetheart, you look beautiful" Chase told me.
"Thank you, bubba. You look handsome" I told him.
"Thank you" Chase said.
We got into position so that we were standing in front of each other, still holding hands, and the priest stepped forward.
The music stopped and the priest motioned for the guests to sit down, which they did.
"We are gathered here today to witness the sacred union of Luna and Chase. We stand here to honor and celebrate the love shared between them as they come together to start a new life, a future together. They are all surrounded by their close friends and family" the priest said.
The guests remained silent as they listened to the priest.
The same can be said for the bridesmaids and the groomsmen.
Chase and I were listening but we were honestly just focused on each other.
"Luna and Chase are honored to be here today. In fact, I believe that this is something these lovebirds have been waiting for" the priest smiled.
Laughter could be heard while Chase chuckled and I giggled.
Well, he's right about that.
This is something we've been waiting for since the day Chase got down on his knee and asked me to marry him.
But we had so many things to do and so much to prepare that it couldn't happen right away.
But that doesn't matter anymore.
Because we're here now and that's all that should matter.
"Now, I believe there are some vows they'd love to share" the priest said.
Here go our vows...
Chase and I both looked nervous but we would have to share them one way or another.
We just don't want to mess up and ruin things.
Chase looked at the priest and nodded at him before looking back at me.
Looks like he's going first.
Which is probably a good thing since I need to go over my vows in my head to make sure that I have what I want to say memorized.
"Years ago, I didn't know anything or anyone. It was just my siblings and I and all we had was each other. The three of us were isolated for as long as I can remember and while I didn't let it affect me too much I knew that I wanted to be someone in life. I knew I wanted to go out into the real world and do more than just train. Not only that but I wanted to go out and find someone that would make me happy, smile, laugh and just be there to light up my world. If I'm being honest, I never thought I would get that" Chase explained.
He chuckled and shook his head.
"But I was proven wrong the day you entered my life. When I first laid my eyes on you, I knew there was something special about you. I knew that I wanted us to be more than friends. I wanted you to be mine. I wanted to show you off to the world world and let everyone know that you're mine and that I was never going to let you go. Well, it looks like my wish came true" Chase smiled.
I smiled at him, feeling my eyes begin to water.
"We went through so much together. Good and bad. There were times where I almost lost you and, I kid you not, I was terrified. Because the thought of losing you is one of my biggest fears. Without you, I'm nothing. Without you, I don't think I could continue living. Because you, Luna, are my everything in life. My best friend, my world, the love of my life and my soon to be wife. I'm so grateful to still have you by my side. And I'm so grateful that after today I'll get to spend the rest of my life with you still by my side" Chase finished.
I couldn't stop the tears from streaming down my cheeks.
I honestly could care less if my makeup was ruined.
I couldn't stop the way my heart fluttered at Chase's words.
I couldn't stop the way I looked at him with nothing but pure love in my eyes.
Chase smiled softly at me and brought his hand up to my face in order to wipe my tears away.
When he was done, pulling his hand back, I spared a glance to the guests.
Some were smiling and some were silently crying.
Tasha and aunt Emily were the ones that were silently crying.
Dad and Douglas were smiling at Chase, their eyes soft and full of pride.
The priest smiled at Chase and looked at me and I knew it was my turn.
I nodded and took a deep breath before looking into Chase's beautiful eyes.
Here goes nothing.
"Growing up in a home of a billionaire inventor was amazing. After all, I had everything I wanted in life. My dad may not have been my dad by blood but he still loved me as if I was his daughter. He raised me and did his best to give me the life I deserved and I'll forever be grateful for him" I said.
I looked over at dad and saw him smiling softly at me.
I returned the gesture before looking at the ground.
"But, I always knew there was something missing in my life. I knew that I wanted to find my special someone. Which is odd since I never once thought about dating and thought romance was a waste of time. But, I knew that deep down I wanted to find someone. I knew deep down I wanted romance in my life. I was just pretending that I didn't. And, honestly, I never thought I would get that" I sighed.
A smile appeared on my face as I looked up and into Chase's eyes.
"That all changed the day I met you. The moment I laid my eyes on you, I knew that you were going to be my special someone. You were nothing like the boys I met in the past. You were different. The good different. I wanted nothing more than to have you in my life as something more than a friend. Fortunately, I got it" I said.
Chase smiled at that and I could see him trying to hold back tears.
"So many people were confused as to why I chose you. They couldn't understand. I would look them directly in the eye and tell them that you were my special someone. But that confused them more and they would want me to explain further. So, I told them that you're my best friend, my world, the love of my life and my soon to be husband. I told them you were the only one that I wanted by my side. Nobody else could ever compare to you" I said.
At this point the guests were making their crying audible.
Hell, I could hear crying from my Bree and the girls and some from the boys.
"Now here we are, standing in front of each other, soon to be husband and wife and I couldn't be any happier. I love you, Chase. I always have and I always will. I will stand by your side the way you'll stand by mine for as long as I live. No matter what we face from here on out, we're going to face them together. I promise" I finished.
Once I was done everyone burst into tears.
I could hear sobs coming from Tasha and aunt Emily.
Not just them, I could hear sobbing from dad, Douglas and Kevin.
And I so badly wanted to laugh but I held it in as best as I could.
I looked at Chase and saw him smiling at me, nothing but pure love in his eyes, and tears were streaming down his face.
I softly smiled at him and reached out to wipe his tears away.
The priest cleared his throat as he wiped away some of his tears.
"Now that both bride and groom have said their vows, we shall proceed" the priest said.
Spin and Bob, having finished wiping away their tears, stood up and walked over to us.
They handed Chase and I the rings and we smiled at them and thanked them.
We watched them sit back down before looking at each other.
"Chase, do you take Luna as your lawfully wedded wife?" the priest asked.
"I do" Chase nodded, smiling.
"Luna, do you take Chase as your lawfully wedded husband?" the priest asked.
"I do" I nodded, smiling.
The priest gestured for us to put the rings on and we obeyed.
Chase placed the ring on my finger and I did the same with him.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride" the priest smiled.
Chase and I smiled at each other before Chase brought his hands up to cup the sides of my face.
He leaned in and I leaned in and we closed our eyes and, before we knew it, our lips met in a passionate kiss.
The guests stood up from where they were sitting and began clapping and cheering.
The girls began squealing and clapping while the guys were cheering and wolf whistling.
Chase and I pulled away from the kiss after a minute and pressed our foreheads together.
We stared into each others eyes with nothing but pure love and smiles were plastered on our faces.
"I love you, my wife" Chase whispered.
"I love you too, my husband" I whispered back.
We made it.
Chase and I made it.
We're married.
We're finally married.
We're finally husband and wife.
This day was just as we expected it to be.
Perfect.
