"You have to stop passing out every time I teleport." It took some time to process what Offendy said, but I could finally focus. I was lying on a large, round bed. Piles of red and black pillows lifted me up at an almost 90 degree angle. The sheets were silky smooth, red, while the fluffy comforter was black. Offendy sat on a lounge chair next to the bed, waiting for me to wake. Looking at the nightstand, I saw the clock read 12:38.  He helped me stand, "how about you go take a shower and clean yourself up while I make some food." With a nod, he guided me out and to the bathroom.

"You must be confused, and scared about all this, right?" Offendy asked, swallowing the last bit of his soup. I didn't say anything, just nodded. "Well, I know it may not sound like much, but I will help you through this. I'll protect you." I looked up at him, not knowing how to feel. Though I hadn't said anything, he seemed to read my thoughts. "You don't have to trust me right away, I understand. But it would help if you would talk at least a little bit."

"I apologize," I squeaked. He bounced with laughter at the sound of my voice, but stopped at the sight of me sniffling. I knew it was a bad idea to speak.

"Don't apologize, I just think your voice is cute! Please keep talking."

With a glance at him, we slowly began to talk. We shared a few interests, but he said that I would get along great with his brothers.

The day moved on, leaving me with nothing to do as he prepared a guest room for me. Eventually, he showed me to my (hopefully temporary) room.

[I'm too lazy to add details, don't you judge me]

I gratefully sit down on the bed, already falling asleep after the long day. I paused as I realized Offendy was still there. I couldn't trust him, it was so strange, especially with that name....

Offendy's POV:

I couldn't do much without my magic, but I was going to win this. I didn't give 2 craps about how long it would take, she'd fall for me.

I felt her gaze at me with her gorgeous eyes. She was resting on the bed, sitting with her legs spread slightly. It would be so easy.... I pushed away the thought, leaving the room for my own. "If you need anything, just knock on my door, but don't go inside..." I said as I left.

Reader's POV:

He then left me, closing the door behind him. For a moment, I sat in silence, but I soon crawled under the soft blankets, resting my head on the pillows, but I couldn't fall asleep. Now that it was quiet, I felt the memories recur. I wanted to let tears fall, to cry, but I forced them down. Pulling the blankets off, I made my way silently down the stairs, into the kitchen.

I sat at the counter, drinking water, and listening to all the noises around me. Every once in a while the house would settle, breathing in and out in meditation as if it were living. Occasionally, I'd hear the dying fire cough, spewing out tiny sparks, which landed peacefully on the marble ground. From time to time, the sound of creaking emitted from upstairs, letting me know that Offendy was wide awake as well.

I wondered in silence what he thought about. He was such a mystery to me, heck, I couldn't wrap my head around what the he was, let alone if I should trust him. I didn't care if he was trying endlessly to make me give into him, I vowed not to break.

I soon returned to my room as the creaking above me began to slow, letting me drift softly into my bed, being pulled to sleep by the house settling.
