Freedom comes with the Survey Corps, and truly, that's all Juniper's ever wanted. Becoming a soldier and exploring the outer realms of the three walls, it's all Juniper's dreamed and wished for. Now, twenty-seven years in, nothing's changed. Juniper's still that naive soldier at heart, standing off to the side during training corps and watching others participate in hand-to-hand combat, waiting for her chance to choose freedom over safety.

Juniper has always felt too small for the walls, she's always felt like she was destined for something that was beyond the walls; maybe she was going to save humanity. Or maybe she was an adrenaline junkie. Either one worked, for Juniper, as long as she was killing titans along the way.

Then, everything explodes. A new cadet by the name of Eren Jaeger can turn into a titan. Juniper's stomach stirs whenever she gets too close to Captain Levi, one of her closest friends, and Commander Erwin thinks there's a chance Wall Maria can be taken from the titans. Juniper wishes she never joined the Survey Corps now. She's not suicidal. . . Right?
