"I was so caught up worrying about what I would do, how I would live if something happened to us," he expresses his thoughts and feelings in the comfort of your presence. "I kept thinking about what could go wrong and how it would affect me," he shakes his head a little in disappointment. "I feel like shit."

"I'm sorry," you rest your head lightly on his shoulder. "If I hadn't been too distant, we'd have talked it all out before and you wouldn't have to feel like shit."

"but you had responsibilities and I was being a pest," he laughs.

"we're trained soldiers, mere pests don't distract us. we're always taught to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. what you were going through in your head makes sense," you reply finding solace in his company. "I really wanted to tell you to believe in me. If I could just make you look through my eyes, you wouldn't have to burden yourself too much."

"can you do it now?"

you lift your head up to look at him.

"make me see things through your eyes, please," he requests. His eyes fill with hope, eager to learn about a new perspective.
