was it the guilt for what she said? because she knew why he blew his night away? was it because she was afraid it might be the last time she'd see those eyes or was it because his face received enough light shed by the little bulb in the tent which made it more visible and it's been so long since she saw it up so close? there were a million reasons to think of but she didn't know which one made her kiss her husband.

why did she need a reason in the first place?

they were your usual married couple for the time the lightbulb above their heads flickered like an incandescent mistletoe.

"i don't want to hear anything which is not related to the operation from your mouth," she whispers before grabbing a bandaid from the first-aid box and applying it on Hoseok's forehead wound.

his face, in pursuit of her eyes, follows her as she avoids his.

comfort can be addictive

and getting out of an addiction, a comfort zone, is very difficult.

she notices him agitate as he fights his urge to break open the handcuffs when she walks away towards the exit. "our conversation isn't over," he states, stopping her. "if you think you can get out of it like-

a static voice on y/n's handheld transceiver interrupts him, informing her about something being 'ready.'

Hoseok could hear some footsteps outside. he notices y/n grab a key out of her pants pocket. "what is it," he asks.

"don't leave this tent," she says after walking towards Hoseok and uncuffing his hands.

she receives another message. "foxtrot... alpha," it says along with some other indecipherable words which were cut off probably due to poor network.

she dashes out of the tent.

he follows, utterly concerned about the sudden increase in her pace as she walks away from the tent.

"y/n, what is going on-

"shhhhh," she stops to turn around and glare at him. "people are sleeping, unlike you," she shouts in a whisper.

he follows her to another tent and watches her as she puts on her gear. "i told you not to leave that tent," she says as she buckles her bulletproof vest.

"would u tell me where you're headed?"

He stares at her in anticipation with creases of concern and tension on his forehead.

"no."

she responds.

he runs a hand through his hair in exasperation as he looks away for a second to regain his composure and stop himself from exploding.

"it's government info. must remain confidential," she speaks so hoseok doesn't explode. "direct orders from major general."
