Jimin pulls Hoseok towards the cell by his arm. Hoseok immediately yanks his body away; he doesn't want to be grabbed like a hostage especially when he's a captain with a troop that is going to rescue people trapped on the other side.

After mustering up some courage to speak to his senior, lieutenant Park opens his mouth to whisper, "may i-" only to receive a "no" from the captain before he could ask anything.

Jimin drops Hoseok in the cell placed inside one of the tents at their army camp, which was located somewhere in the middle of a jungle.

Hoseok sat there alone with his thoughts. His back faced the cell's entrance as he stared at its posterior for some minutes before fixing his eyes on the ground.

After what felt like an hour, he hears commotion behind him. He could see the major come towards him with something in her hand from his peripheral vision. Seconds later, she was sitting next to Hoseok on the only bench in that cell.

Hoseok doesn't acknowledge her presence as he continues to stare at the ground.

He could hear the sound of water being poured into a container. He recognizes the click of a box that was either being opened or closed.

As her hand approaches Hoseok's face with a cloth, he turns his head away. Her hand stops midair, some centimeters away from his dusty face. She attempts to clean it again but he repels his face as if it's the north pole of a magnet facing the north of another. He shifts and sits diagonally at an angle that would keep his face away from the major's line of sight.

"uncuff me, I can clean it by myself"

"no"

he pauses.

"send the medics then"

"they're asleep. they need rest, they have deeper wounds to heal."

she spends a few seconds in silence.

so does he.

waiting to be heard or understood.

"I had to update colonel with today's report, then contact the major general for further instructions," she breaks the silence with facts, wanting Hoseok to understand her point of view. "couldn't afford to waste any time," she adds.

"could've just said that instead of playing Tekken and locking me up," he retorts.

she sighs.

"what were the chances of you not following me around everywhere, not attempting to have conversations with me, not distracting me, or not wasting my time?"

Some seconds of silence later, Hoseok shifts back to his initial position turning a bit more towards the major so she could clean his face and treat his wounds.

"you could've used this time to rest your body, captain. this ain't pubG, you gotta do real work at the field and I know you know that but you seem a lot more distracted than I thought," she speaks as she focuses on wiping dirt away from Hoseok's face and applying antiseptic to his bruises.

"excuse me for being the only one trying to protect our marriage"
