- Prelude: willing suspension -

"[...] transfer from our inward nature a human interest and a semblance of truth sufficient to procure for these shadows of imagination that willing suspension of disbelief for the moment [...]"

(Samuel Taylor Coleridge)

Yeah, yeah, it will start soon enough- I promise. Just a few more words of warning. Skip again, if you don't want to be warned. Do it on your own account!

Heaven exists, at least in this story. But you might find it differently than you expected it to be. Prepare to be surprised, maybe even shocked about what I'm going to do. Some hundred years ago I would have been burned as a heretic for a work like this. A thrilling idea, I think.

Come and catch a glimpse behind the scenes of my story before you enter.

I want to point out things from a different angle, from another point of view- an angelic point of view, even a godly one (megalomania here we go). It's not so much about religion as you might think at the moment, it's more about me and my philosophy (aka my dark and weird imagination).

I'm kind of the doubting Thomas in my family of faithful Catholics. I don't believe things only because they are written in a book- I know well enough what nonsense that could be from my extensive Wattpad experience! I need to see in order to believe, and no one of the many people I've asked until today could've shown me things. To hear won't suffice for me. Poor me, I know. Pity me later.

Let's not explain too much here- just a few things you need to know.

From now on I insist on something called "the willing suspension of disbelief".

This is the only rule I have for you. My world, my rule! Rules are necessary. It's an easy one. I'm a mild creator- as every scriptor is also a creator.

In 1817, this term was introduced by the poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge and it has been defined as a willingness to suspend one's critical faculties and believe something surreal, a sacrifice of realism and logic for the sake of enjoyment. I beg you to do this just for me and my concept of art and phantasy.

Well, hypocrite that I am, I wasn't willing enough to do this with a volume of books commonly known as the bible. Maybe I should give it one more try one day. Maybe I could see it just as one big work of fan fiction. First of its kind in a way. Guess what would have been, if Wattpad already existed back then. Oh another brilliant idea strucks me.

But for now: Follow my rule, follow my lead and enjoy!

Author's note I:

I've got a problem. I happen to live in a time when every wise word was already said by someone else before me! ;)

So let's play a little game to make it more of a challenge: I placed some more or less hidden hints to other works of literature in my modest, but much-beloved experiment. You're welcome to point out every reference you notice!
