You woke up and spotted alot of mirrors. You didn't know what happened. You remembered how you walked out of the Snowdin shop. You then ran and ran, into different rooms as soon as you noticed that you felt something or someone watching you. You spotted some white things in the corner of your eye. You ran and ran and ran. You then reached a dead end. There was an elevator. You hopped into it eagerly, unaware of your surroundings.

You pressed the 'up' button and the elevator zoomed up. You arrived to the top in about a minute. You then hopped out the elevator. You were in an unfamiliar place. The surroundings were white. You spotted a desk, and a giant TV. You turned around and spotted a yellow creature. 

The yellow creature jumped back in shock and adjusted their glasses.

"U-uh h-hi... I wasn't expecting to s-see you so soon." They said. "M-my name is A-alphys." You nodded in response and smiled. It was silent for a while. It felt a bit awkward. You decided to break the silence because you were both just there looking at each other awkwardly.

"Um..Hey, Alphys... I wanna know where I am. I just woke up and appeared in that basement of yours." You said and pointed to the elevator.

She looked at you in confusion and scratched her head.

"W-what? How is that possible?" She said with almost no stuttering.

"I don't know.. I was in front of the snowdin shop. I just bought some things, and then I woke up here."  You looked at her, hoping for answers.

"If you don't know, can you please atleast tell me where I am?" You said after she didn't respond the first question.

She then nodded. "Y-you are in h-hotland."

"Hotland? What's that?" You asked her with a confused expression.

"I-it's t-this place. Look o-outside." She responded.

You then nodded and she pointed to the front door. You headed towards it. The door opened by itself. You were kind of shocked at first, but just went along with it. You looked outside and it was EXTREMELY hot. How come Snowdin is extremely cold, and this area is extremely hot? Good thing you're wearing the tanktop Sans bought you. You look around and spot an elevator, and on the left is a river. Straight ahead you just see a stand and another passageway. You turn back around to talk to Alphys.

"That is really hot." You looked at Alphys.

 She nodded and searched for something in her lab coat. She took out a pen and wrote something on paper. She handed it to you and you read it.

I'm not gonna talk since this is hard to explain. I stutter alot so you wouldn't understand what I'm saying.. lmao. Anyways, since you probably saw what was on the left of you outside, (it's a river) there's a person that will take you to Snowdin. It can also take you to waterfall which is an area that has water, obviously, and also has Undyne's house, Napstablook's house, and some other person's house. It has other stuff as well. Those are the only places it can take you. So you can go back. Or, you can go forward. You can go through Hotland, through the Core, into Asgore's castle. Recently, the queen Toriel went back to that castle. They have a child named Asriel. Don't know what happened to Asriel, but apparently he's lost or something. The queen was mad at the king for not paying attention to her or something, I don't know. I forgot the reason. The queen went over there to apologize for leaving the king. The king of course was in a bad condition. The king got so mad that he accidentally caused a giant wall called the barrier. That happened a few hundred years ago though, and since the king caused the barrier, monsters can't leave to go to the surface. Before, monsters used to be friends with humans. Sadly though, some people made myths and stories about monsters being evil, and humans think monsters are evil now. Anyways. I am the king's scientist, and I have been researching the barrier for years. Only a few information has been found,though. First of all, nothing can smash the barrier. Nothing. I've tried every object, a soul, a flower from the surface, myself, and nothing has worked. The thing is, smashing the barrier might not be an object. That's my theory. The only way the barrier can get smashed is by something that it 'wants.' it's hard to explain. I've tried to explain it to Asgore, but he doesn't believe me. I believe this because Asgore created the barrier by an 'emotion' right? Well, why can't destroying the barrier be by an 'emotion' as well? Or a 'feeling.' I don't know. Noone believes me. You probably don't believe me either, but I tried. Anyway, like I said, You can go back, or you can go forward and try to help Asgore. By the way, Toriel, the queen should be over there. I don't know what happened, but she was thinking about stuff when you left her house. Also, I've been watching you on this giant TV mwueheehhee... lollll, Yeah. You can make your decision now. I'm gonna write this paper like I'm writing a note to someone because it seems cooler and I can add a 'P.S.'

 - Alphys.

 P.S You smell like oranges.

You paused for a second not knowing what to say. You looked up at Alphys. "Thank you." You smiled.

"F-for w-what?" She responded.

"For telling me about this. I understand alot better now." You looked down to grab your bag.

Toriel is at the castle? Should get going then.

"W-wait!" Alphys said as I grabbed my bag.

"I-I'm sorry, b-but I forgot to tell you. The k-king closed the entrance to h-his c-castle. He doesn't w-want any v-visitors. He n-needed some alone time with t-the queen. T-toriel wanted to talk about a f-few things." Alphys said.

You frowned at her. You really wanted to leave this place. You really did. You wanted to see the surface. If that's what the monsters called it. It seems so dreamy, as of how the monsters describe it. Sans says there's alot of hotdog stands, Alphys wants to go up there so badly, and Asgore feels really bad for causing the barrier. I guess now you should just explore waterfall before you go there and wait until he opens it for visitors. If it doesn't open after you explore waterfall, which should take a few days, then you would go to Snowdin and hang out with Sans and Papyrus! Yeah, that's a good idea! You smiled again and looked at Alphys. Afterwards, you told Alphys your new plan. She nodded. Seconds after, something exploded. You looked around the lab.

You spotted a hole in the wall.

You saw a figure with 2 legs. It had a face, an unlike-human face. It had black hair and a type of suit. It also had arms.

"Hello, Darling." The thing looked at you.

"O-oh, h-hey Mettaton!" Alphys greeted it.

"This is my i-invention! H-his name i-is M-mettaton. I-I created him. H-he's a robot and he p-performs and i-is a monster star!" She said excitedly, happy with her invention.

You take a closer look at him. Wait a second... METTATON! THE ROBOT ON TV! Your eyes sparkled and you quickly hugged him.

"METTATON?! You're the robot on TV that me, Sans, and Papyrus were watching!" The robot looked at you in confusion for a second, and then he did a duck face and blew a kiss.

"Another fan aren't you, Darling?" Mettaton then smiled.

You looked at him with shock. You can't believe it. You met Mettaton! This must be a dream. Mettaton pinched your arm.

"Ow! What was that for?" You yelped.

"You were going drowsy there. Anyway, I just came to see Alphys. Looks like she made a new friend. If you're Alphys's friend, then that is perfect!" The robot looked over you. He was really tall. You believe he's the height of Papyrus.

"Huh?" You looked at him in confusion.

"I need a partner for my next show. Most of my workers left because they needed to attend to their things. All of them want and are gonna come work again, but for now I need you to help. If you like the job alot, you can stay. I'm giving you a more important role than the other workers. I'm trusting you because you're Alphys's friend." Mettaton eyed me suspiciously.

 "You look like a nice person. Alphys also told me you didn't do anything bad. I've also watched you a bit, and you act nice to Sans. Especially Papyrus. He absolutely LOVES my shows." Mettaton said.

You nodded in response. "What's the "important role" you're talking about?" You said quoting the words.

"Doesn't everybody in your crew have an important role?" You said trying not to fangirl.

Mettaton laughed. His laugh was not what you expected, but it still made you happy knowing that you made your favorite star laugh.

"You're a funny one, Darling. Seriously though. The important job is for you to dance on stage with me. It will cause alot of practice and will take a few weeks, but it will be worth it. You will dance like me." He said.

Hearing those last 5 words made you extremely happy. You knew he danced EXTREMELY well. Of course you will say yes!

"Yes!" You almost-yelled.

You forgot that Alphys was there and she was covering her ears. You felt bad for her, mostly because she's the one who MADE Mettaton, and she wrote you a whole paper describing where you are. You then frowned.

"Is something wrong, my love?" Mettaton looked at you in confusion.

You then nodded in response and looked in your bag. You took out the anime 'Mew Mew Kissy Cutie.' It wasn't much, and you didn't know if she liked CDs, but you took it out since it was the best thing that you can give as a gift. As soon as you took it out, she looked at you in shock.

"Oh my god! Is that Mew Mew Kissy Cutie Full!?" She shrieked afterwards.

You nodded and looked at her in confusion.

"That's my favorite anime!" She shrieked again.

You smiled. Wow. What a coincidence.

"Where did you buy that?!" She looked at you with sparkly eyes.

"The Snowdin shop." You let out a laugh and handed it to her.

"T-thank you so much! This is the second-best gift I've ever recieved!" She then looked at Mettaton.

If she liked it so much, then what's her first? Well, let's ask.

"What's your first?" You asked.

It was quiet for a moment.

"It's one of U-Undyne's s-spears." She blushed.

Who's this Undyne? Everyone's talking about her. Her face is red. She might be nervous? And a spear? What would she even use the spear for? Oh well. It is what it is. Atleast she likes the gift.

"S-sorry. I love your gift, by the way. A lot. I really wanted it, but noone ever sold it. Thank you!" She thanked you.

She seemed more comfortable to you. She just stopped stuttering as much as usual. That's understandable though, just imagine a random stranger that appeared in your basement. You would be scared, too.

"No. Thank you. You helped me understand where I was and brought my favorite star to life." You smiled. She smiled back.

You looked at Mettaton again.

"Sorry for that. I just felt bad for her." You looked down.

He then smiled. "I knew I could trust you."

You smiled. "When does my job start?" You asked.

"Now." "I will give you this book. You have to copy the book and do the dances. I have to do the same dances, one set of the dances is a solo. I dance solo and you clap, and afterwards you dance the solo there and I clap. You can make your own solo. The book says where the solo is. You can practice these dances for today. I texted Papyrus while you were talking to Alphys. Today you can practice the dances and tomorrow you have to practice and practice. The stage is gonna be built in Snowdin. In front of the first intersection." Mettaton said.

You nodded as he handed you the book. The book looked pretty big. You were worried you weren't gonna get through it all today. It was 6:00 PM. You frowned.

"Oh, dear! I didn't mean the stage was gonna be built in Snowdin tomorrow. Silly me! I meant that you have to practice those dances within a month. As well as your solo. Your solo is the most hardest part since you can't look at what I'm doing. Try not to look at my dancing, by the way, it makes the audience think you're copying me. In a month, the stage will be built in that Snowdin intersection. Every single monster from the underground will come and we have to dance those moves. We have those every 1 or 2 months. The thing is, I don't wanna pressure you, sweetheart." Mettaton said.

"Okay." You said. You couldn't help yourself. "So, I'm guessing you... Met-A-Ton of fans." You giggled at your own pun and Alphys was laughing too. Mettaton seemed disturbed. He then let out a small laugh. "Come on, that was a good one!" You said loudly.

"Darling, you should get going. Papyrus just texted me he made you some spaghetti."

You smiled. "Tell him I'm almost there." Mettaton looked at his phone as he waved 'goodbye.'

You grabbed your bag you put on the ground to give Alphys her gift and headed out the front door. You walked to the left as Alphys said, and you saw the hooded figure. You walked up to it.

"May I go to Waterfall, please?" You asked quietly.

The figure nodded and started sailing to the right.

"Beware of the man who speaks in hands."

...

"Speaks in hands?" You question it.

It nods.

"I have this book and it's writing from another language. It has great HAND-writing. You giggle at your own pun again and look at the figure seriously. The figure is quiet.

 "I'm serious though, it's in hand language." You put your bag on the boat and take out the black, ominous book. You show the figure the book. The figure is still quiet. Like it never saw anything. You look at it. Look, here's the book!

"It's blank."

"What? How? I see it right here! The writing is right there. You can't see it?" You look at the figure in confusion as it looks ahead the boat, as if it's trying to concentrate.

"Maybe the book was meant for you." It finally said.

You look at the book for a few seconds, and look up.

"What do you mean?" You question again.

"You will see. You just have to concentrate and be determined. The book is special." It responded.

"If it is in hand language, it's special. Trust me." It finally said.

You looked at the book. You thought it was glowing for a second. Might have been your imagination. You grabbed the book and put it in your bag slowly. You looked at the hooded figure.

"Thank you." You smiled at it.

Silence. Complete silence. It was really silent that it was kind of awkward.

A few seconds later, you saw ground. The boat stopped.

"Here we are."

You then hopped off the boat. You grabbed your bag before leaving and it was peaceful. There was no sound. Finally peace. The thing is, it was quiet. Too quiet. You sat down on the grass and decided to sleep. It was 7:04, why not sleep early? Before you fell asleep, you decided to see if anyone was in here. So you decided to walk for a bit since your eyes didn't wanna sleep.

"Hello is anybody there?" You yelled.

'Hello is anybody there?' You heard an echo.

It came from a blue flower.

"HEY PUNK!" You turned around and saw a blue fish-like girl with red hair and a ponytail. She was holding a spear.

"What are you doing here, loser? Are you here to challenge me?"

You shook your head quickly.

"There's this girl named Alphys. I don't know if you know her, but you're a monster so you should know her. Anyway, she said I should go here to explore, and then afterwards I can go see Sans and Papyrus again." You explained.

"FUHUHU! Not if you- wait Alphys sent you? Okay, you can go past. BUT NOT THAT EASILY! You have to- uh, GET PAST ME IN A COOKING COMPETITION!" She said, holding her spear tightly.

"My name is Undyne! Undyne the Undying! That means I never die! Alphys made that name for me." She blushed.

"Are you blushing?" You questioned her.

"WHAT? NO! UNDYNE NEVER BLUSHES! SO LET'S GO TO THE COOKING COMPETITION!" She says basically yelling louder than the word 'yelling.'

Undyne then ran off to a big house that looks like a fish. Hm. That's Undyne. The girl everyone's talking about. Wow, she's even better in person by how people describe her!

You speed-walk to her house, not wanting her to kill you with her spear. You then go inside and open the door.

"HEY. YOU! Yeah, you! Let's start the cooking competition! You cook soup and I cook... soup! FUHUHU! You will never beat me!" She slams her fist on the table.

A little scared, you stepped forward and grabbed a bowl. You put on an apron Undyne handed you and you both started cooking.

"Uhhh, hey, human? Can you help me with this? The spoon is stuck." She nervously twiddled her fingers.

"Sure!" You said as you grabbed the spoon from under the pan. "Do you...Not like when it's warm?"

She nervously shook her head.

"No worries though! I'm still on the competition! FUHUHU! You will never beat me!" She looks at you sternly again. "You can keep the apron."

After the competition, which Undyne won because she said 'She was so hot and good at making it' even though she burned the whole house down, you decided to continue your exploring. It was 9:46. Wow, That competition took a while.

"HEY, PUNK!" She yelled when you walked forward.

You looked back at her and you tilted your head to the side. 

"Have my phone number so we can talk sometime. I enjoyed that. Don't worry, I'll patch up the house." She said as she wrote numbers on a paper and handed it to you. You then took the paper and started walking forward. You spotted another shack. Why is there alot of shacks around these areas? Huh. Weird. You then kept walking and finally arrived at Snowdin. You were getting a bit tired though. You checked the time. 11:56. Wow. It's really late. I'm gonna sleep at the inn. While you were walking to the inn, you heard loud, fast footsteps.

"HEY HUMAN! I FINALLY FOUND YOU! WHAT TOOK SO LONG? I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIND YOU FOR THREE HOURS! GREAT EXERCISE FOR THE BONE, THOUGH." Papyrus said.

"Ah! You startled me. It is very late. Sorry, I was just in Hotland. I took the boat and went to waterfall because I wanted to explore. Then I encountered Undyne and she wanted a cooking competition." You laughed.

"WELL, WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO?" "ALSO WHY DIDN'T YOU INVITE THE GREAT PAPYRUS?" Papyrus questioned.

"Oh, I thought you were sleeping and I didn't want to disturb you." You explained. "Anyways, It's getting late so I should head to the inn. Goodnight Papyrus!" You said.

"WAIT, HUMAN! NO! YOU HAVE TO SLEEP IN OUR HOUSE!"  Papyrus stomped his feet.

"What? No Papyrus, I couldn't-" "HUMAN, I INSIST. YOU'VE BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH." Papyrus cut you off.

"PLEASE? WE CAN HAVE SOME OF MY SPAGHETTI AND HAVE FUN! YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOOD! THEY ALSO RAISED THE PRICE OF THE INN AND IT'S 100 G A NIGHT!" Papyrus looked at you with pleading eyes.

100 G a night? I can't afford that! That's too much! I only have 80 G.

"F-fine." You said. "But promise something. I want you to promise me this: Whenever I am bothering you, tell me and I will stop. Alright, Papyrus?" I said, and Papyrus nodded in response.

"Thank you, Papy!" I said as you jumped onto him for a hug. He hugged back.

You and Papyrus started walking to the house. You finally got inside.

"I'll sleep on the couch, Pap." You looked at him as he nodded. He then rubbed his eyes and headed to the first room upstairs. Must be his room. You then lied down on the couch and fell into deep slumber. Again, this time you slept and you saw a flash of blue. It was closer this time.

Maybe too close.

( REALLY IMPORTANT AUTHORS NOTE SO YOU COULD UNDERSTAND )

GUYS! HERE'S YOUR 3500 WORD CHAPTER I PROMISED! I HOPE YOU LIKE IT! ANYWAY, LET ME EXPLAIN EVERYTHING BECAUSE YOU'RE PROBABLY CONFUSED! So you know the title of this story was 'Video Games CAN Be Real' right? Well, I changed it to this one now because I have an idea for the end. When I had the other title, I didn't know how to end this story. Now I know how to end it. Here's a hint: It's a good ending. That's the only thing I'm gonna tell you! Also, after I finish this book I'm making a sequel so don't think it's gonna end soon! This book will probably have 20 chapters? I'm not sure around there. I'll tell you when it's close to the finish so you would know. I am 99.9% sure I'm making a sequel and I have the ending. In my opinion, It's a decent and nice ending. After that ending though, the sequel book will be what happened after this book (obviously) but this book is nowhere near ending so don't worry! Anyways, I just wanted to say it and that's why I changed the title. This IS still 'Video Games CAN be real' but with a different title. Anyways, enjoy!
