(This will be focusing closely on the time around the war.)

When the humans first introduced technology to the Ryn a lot changed, too much that I don't think I can go into full detail. But the important thing is that the Ryn caught on quickly and fully accepted this technology as a good thing. But tensions were rising between two big and powerful herds, one in the Water region and the other in the Earth region. By now they had grasped onto how to make nuclear bombs, and were ready to use them for war. After a war that lasted longer than a decade one of the sides, historians have no idea who yet, decided to take the final step and deployed the nuke. The world went quiet for a while. Over time the climate quickly became warmer and many animals did not adapt well enough to survive. The Earth funded projects that focused on rebuilding the towns that had been destroyed, along with providing proper equipment for treatment of the sick.

Centuries later we are here, at some point in time there was a transport system made for Ryns to move to Earth. But most Ryns cannot afford it, leading to many sneaking onto ships illegally. There isn't a hopeful future in mind but the residents do what they can to survive. And radiation still lingers in the DNA of the Ryn and in the planet as well.
