So I don't know much about astrology (I don't really believe in stuff like that) but I've had to read about it for something recently and it's actually kind of interesting.

So I thought I'd do a little astrology analysis for L. I can't do readings or anything but I'm still going to take a little look at it. I don't know how to calculate the planet stuff, but I do know some stuff about zodiacs.

So let's go.

L Lawliet, born October 31 making him a Scorpio. Scorpio is a water sign, his ruling planet is Pluto and his tarot card is Death (that's ironic).

The strengths of a Scorpio are: being passionate, driven, having perceptive, being emotional, sacrificing and determined

I think that fits him pretty well. He's passionate about his job, and very driven to serve justice. He can put cases into perspective and tried to act in such a way that will secure a conviction. He's not that emotional on the outside but is on the inside. And he's willing to make sacrifices, like risking his life for the case. And determined? Yeah very. He was willing to do anything to catch Kira.

According to sources "Scorpios may appear cold and unapproachable, and indeed many have an intimidating air. Bubbling just beneath the surface is turbulent waters, intense passions and feelings that are hidden at first glance. They often have great self-control, more so than most others. In fact, they crave control - it gives them a feeling of safety and security"

Very very L right there. He's hidden away, but passionate about what he does. He definitely likes the control of leading the taskforce. He often has the others do stuff for him to help further the case. He likes to be in charge. Scorpio's are pretty private to themselves but have a burning sense of emotion and passion under the mask.

A Scorpios weakness would be: vindictive, paranoid, destructive, possessive, jealous, clingy.

Also quite like L. He holds grudges, he always was very snarky to Light. He's paranoid about being finding out his identity so he takes crazy precautions. Destructive would relate to his willingness to do anything to solve a case, even if it means destruction. Possessive isn't really that shown for him, but he is quite protective of himself, he's put down a kind of havens gate around his feelings so no one can get to him that easily. Jealous could be linked to his 'childish and hates to loose' personality, he hates to loose which often means the person in question is jealous of the winner. And clingy? He's in his 20s and a very successful detective and still has his caretaker live with him. He doesn't show it outright but he does keep Watari around for a reason. He clings to him like a child to their parent.

According to sources "A Scorpio's need for control can oftentimes mean that they seem intolerant, jealous and manipulative. Their possessive nature is oftentimes unwarranted. Given their love of analyzing people and their intentions, they can often see bad things on the horizon that aren't always there and can come across as very suspicious without any just cause"

Analysing people is something L does TONS he puts percentages on people and even if those percentages are inaccurate, he's still looked deep into the person to draw the conclusions. He can see bad things on the horizon, he likely knew something bad was going to happen to him that day out in the rain. Light always found him very suspicious because of his overanalysing behaviour.

Relationships of a Scorpio:
Scorpios are said to be trustworthy friends and loyal family members. Sadly due to L being an orphan, we never got to see something like this. His only 'friendships' were lies due to the case. And he never even had a family to be loyal too.

Careers of a Scorpio:
It's said that Scorpio's suit being alone in the workforce. Having a job they can do by themselves as working with a group isn't their thing. This makes sense. L works alone behind a screen where no one can see him. While they like control, they don't like being put in leader positions. With L he's kind of forced to be the leader due to his reputation as a detective, but to be honest he's not the best at being a leader. Aizawa straight up left the taskforce for a bit because he didn't agree with how L was going about the case. L himself tried to break away from the taskforce at one point too (when he recruited misa to act as a yotsuba ploy for him).

Now this is a strange one, their ruling houses.

There's two that makes lots of sense for L. Loss and Death. He's seen lots of it in his life, so it's no surprise he'd have a connection to them. But the third... is sex?

...??? I guess L's secretly a little lustful. I mean I wouldn't be that surprised honestly, I don't think that man has ever been able to get laid so he probably has a lot of build up sexual tension 😂.

Finally, compatible signs.

It's said Scorpios get along well with Cancer, Virgo, Capricorn and Pisces.

And they don't get along that well with: Leo and Aquarius.

((I'm an Aries so I guess I'm a grey area. Aries is a fire sign I'm pretty sure. Maybe fire and water cancel each other out?))

There were three sections in the sources I've seen that this is judged on. Compatibility, sex and communication.

The highest ranking for a Scorpio would be with the four they get along with and the lowest raking would be with the two they don't, the other signs are in the middle. ((Scorpio and Aries have a super high sex compatibly ranking so I guess that explains my lemons book 😂))

One other thing I'll add. His birth flower is Marigold, and his birth stones are Opal and Tourmaline. Just in case you wanted to know.

That's all I really know! Once again I'm no witch or astrology expert. I just had to read up on it for other stuff and found myself wondering what the tarot cards and constellations said about L. If anyone reading this is more of an expert can knows how to calculate houses and the numbers I can't remember the name of etc, fee free to add in the comments!

I mainly used zodiac and Wicca websites as my references here. Over all I think L fits Scorpio pretty damn good. So that's about it! Are your signs compatible with him? Are you a Scorpio yourself? Or are any of you interested in a deeper look? I may be able to dig up some more info bc this is actually pretty interesting to read about.
