Hc: you like to surprise him on anniversaries.

The taskforce were rather confused as to why Watari had gathered them in the main office, without L for once. It was super early and for once, L was asleep. So Watari took the chance to rely a message to them without L's knowledge. Today was a special day for L...

"Gentlemen, and Misa..." he began.

The taskforce tiredly looked at the man in confusion.

"Today is a special day for L. It's his tenth anniversary with his new wife. They became a couple ten years ago and only just got married last year on the same day. So she's planning to surprise him-"

"What? L's married? That's so cute!" Misa cooed.

"How come he never told us?" Matsuda added.

"He's L he never tells us anything about himself" Light jumped in.

It feel silent again so Watari continued.

"At midday today, all the lights in taskforce will go off and so will the computers. They've been programmed to play a video she's made for him and then she'll sneak up behind him to surprise him. They haven't seen each other in half a year because of the case so expect him to be more emotional than usual. I'm telling you this so you can save all your work before midday and not be alarmed when everything turns off. Please keep this a secret, or it will ruin the surprise. His wife will be here a few minutes early to put everything into action. So if you see her lurking around taskforce don't tell L"

"Got it! Man this will be so cute!" Matsuda said.

"I wasn't even aware L was married but ok, sounds good" Aizawa added.

The taskforce all agreed to keep everything on the down low and refrain from ruining the surprise. So when L woke up an hour or two later, and walked in all tired and zoned out, they pretended it was a normal day.

The cameras outside were turned off so he wouldn't see you arrive and Watari conveniently told him they were being upgraded. He went through the whole morning oblivious to what was going on. And it was Misa that saw you sneaking around when you arrived.

She was simply going downstairs to look for her favourite boots when she saw you struggling to carry a bunch of boxes.

"Oh, here let me help!" She said, rushing over before one of the boxes dropped.

She took one off you and found it was carrying flowers.

"Thanks, Misa right?" You said.

"That's me. Watari told me about what's going on, o won't say anything" she replied, following you into one of the downstairs rooms and putting the boxes down.

"Thanks, don't want the surprise to be ruined"

"This is so cute! I didn't even know L was married. And wow you're so pretty!"

"Thanks" you giggled "I just want to spoil my panda man"

She helped you unpack the boxes and found you'd gotten a few wrapped presents and a massive bouquet of roses and marigolds. Marigolds being the birth flower of October when L was born. She found out your full plan. You were going to play the video to surprise him, pop up behind him with the flowers and say happy anniversary then take him out for dinner that night. Misa was exploding with feels the whole time you explained, she was a sucker for romance and this made her heart melt. The seemingly emotionless man that watched her as a suspect had a loving wife who bought out the best in him. Too cute for words. Not only that, you'd known each other since you were teenagers, double cute.

Finally 12 rolled around, Misa had whispered to everyone that you were here and everything was going to fall into place. And with a peek at the doorframe the taskforce could see you hiding holding the flowers.

As L was typing away at his computer, it did an auto save, not too strange so he shrugged it off. But then all the lights went out, confusing him. And then all the screens switched to the date written in cursive.

"I hope you haven't forgotten what day it is" your voice played through the speakers.

That's when he realised what was going on. Of course he didn't forget your anniversary, he just didn't think you'd be seeing each other because of work. Let alone a surprise video.

"She didn't..." he mumbled, a smile creeping across his face.

Music began to play, his favourite love song to be exact. And on the screens before him flashed footage of your life together. From all the days you snuck off together to go to the bakery as teenagers, to your vacations together, to all the lazy days where you just lounged around watching bad movies. All ten years together played before his eyes.

He wanted to laugh and cry and scream all at the same time but just stood there smiling at the screen. He missed you, it had been six months after all.

And of course, anniversary video is complete without wedding videos. The memories of the best day of his life came flooding back when the footage of you in your gorgeous white dress flashed on the screen. Footage of the two of you running through the rain back down the isle when it began to rain right after the ceremony was closed, footage of both of you dancing like idiots at the after party. Footage of your honeymoon in Paris, footage of all the best moments of your relationship smashed into one.

You quietly crept into the dark room behind him as the video drew to a close. He wanted to cry, but not in front of the taskforce. The video ended, the lights coming back on. Before he could process what he just watched, he felt a tap on his shoulder.

He turned, his heart jumping out of his chest when he saw you and immediately diving into your arms.

He buried his face into your shoulder so no one could see him shed tears.

"I didn't think I'd see you..." he smiled.

"Please, you really think I'd leave you lonely on our anniversary?" You replied.

The taskforce watched, even though L really got on their nerves sometimes, they could appreciate the love he had for you. Misa was dying of cuteness, those who were married understood the joy of a moment like this, even Light could admit it was pretty sweet.

"I missed you so much..." he sighed.

"I missed you too, I couldn't just leave you alone today" you replied.

You broke the hug and placed your fingers under his chin to tilt his head up to you and leaned in for a kiss. He happily accepted it, he hadn't have one for six moths after all. He'd do anything to stay with you forever and not have to leave for work. The kiss broke and you smiled brightly at each other.

"I love you" you said, handing him the flowers.

He sighed and shook his head, taking them off you.

"You don't have to buy me things you know?"

"Too bad I've already bought you tons of stuff. And I'm taking you to dinner tonight!"

He smiled, his face going red from your affection.

"Roses and Marigolds... I should have expected" he smiled.

"The flowers of love and the flowers of the spooky season for the spooky boy" you replied.

"I love you so much"

"I love you too"

He then came to his senses that the taskforce were still in the room. He was showing emotion in front of the taskforce... he was showing his wife in front of the taskforce... he knew that you would have taken all precautions needed but he completely forgot they were even in the room. He turned to face them and all eyes were on him, something he wasn't really used to.

"Oh... uh- yeah I kinda have a wife..." he stammered.

"We figured" Light sassed.

"Go! Spend the day with her!" Misa added.

"But the case-"

"No we can handle being without your for a day" Matsuda said.

"Go L, it's your day not ours" Mr Yagami added.

He looked over at you with your hopeful eyes.

"Ok... and you!"

He playfully shoved you, making you laugh.

"You're a suck up!"

"I know, so are you" you giggled.

"I guess. Well it's probably best we get going anyway, I do have some stuff for you after all..."
