Girl stuff

A/n: I've really been hittin it with the crack fics recently. Guess my sleep deprivation is catching up to me.

Hc: You and misa, the only two girls on taskforce. Gotta stick together man, shit gets wild. And then there's L, who's absolutely clueless when it comes to girls.

"Only on weekends? That's and odd change..." you said, looking at the killings in recent weeks.

"Exactly what I was thinking, any ideas?" L replied.

You thought for a moment, but you couldn't seem to come to any conclusions.

"Nope-"

Before you could continue, your phone went off. Picking it up, you saw a message from Misa. Not a good one either.

"Shit..." you mumbled.

"What is it?" L asked.

"Girl thing, code red. I'll be back"

He watched you leave, confused. That's one mystery L hasn't been able to solve, girls. They were a strange species, difficult to understand to a boy that has been surrounded by mainly other boys his whole life. Sure he knew the basics, but not the gritty details that he probably should figure out if he intended on dating you.

"Light..."

He turned to his suspect, who was typing away at his computer.

"I heard. Don't tell me you don't know" Light replied.

"No..?"

Light sighed, wasn't this man meant to be supper smart?

"Aren't you the world greatest detective? You're 25 and you can't figure out what a code red is?"

"Should I know?"

"L did you ever get the talk?"

"The boy one, yes. Look I'm not completely clueless, I know the basics..."

"L, think about it. What's something only girls get? That's red? And an emergency?" Light sighed, having to basically spell it out.

That's when it hit L. Honestly he felt kind of awkward but it was his own fault for prying.

"Oh..." he stated.

"Yeah, it kind of happens every month for them. Why do you think there's a mysterious bottle of pain killers in the medicine cabinet that we didn't put there?"

You appeared at the top of the steps, with your bag and keys.

"I've gotta run out. That was my last few I just gave up, I'll be back" you said, walking past the boys and to the next set of steps to the front door.

L watched you leave, still curious. Apparently according to Light he's pretty clueless, and now that he think about it... he's right. Considering he saw you take off your false eyelashes the other day and almost had a damn heart attack when you did...

"Am I really that clueless?" He mumbled.

"Yes, Yes you are. And you really think you'd handle a relationship? Not with your level of knowledge..." Light replied.

"If you're so smart, enlighten me"

Light took that as a challenge. At least he was smarter than L at something for once.

"Alright. Challenge accepted..."

Meanwhile you were at the nearest store, buying a bunch of packs of everything you needed, also enough to provide for misa. She was a suspect but you had to stand by the girl code. Deciding to add chocolate to the mix as well, you went into the confectionary isle, browsing the flavours. Your mind wandered back to your talk with L. He looked so confused when you left, it was honestly pretty funny.

You see, both you and L knew that there was a spark between the two of you. Just, neither of you had said anything yet, you were holding off for one reason. L was so clueless about girls. He didn't know how to talk to them without getting flustered or anything past their basic needs. But L's a quick learner, you knew soon enough he'd figure it all out and you'd have the green light to a balanced relationship. You decided on some strawberry filled chocolate and grabbed a few blocks, going to the register to pay. Paying and grabbing your bags you began to walk back to taskforce. Your phone rang in your pocket, you grabbed it and answered, seeing it was Misa again.

"Hey, you good?" You asked

"God I'm in so much pain... do we have pain killers?" She replies.

"I put some in the medicine cabinet. I'm on my way back, I got chocolate too"

"Thank god... better keep L out of the fridge then"

"Oh my god, when I walked out L looked so confused it was hilarious. That man knows nothing about girls" you laughed.

"I know right? Last week I walked out with an eyelash curler and he straight up thought I'd robbed a surgery room" Misa replied.

"That poor sheltered boy is in for a shock when he finally works up the courage to get into the relationship"

"I'll bet you $100 he doesn't know any other form of birth control that isn't the pill"

"Bet. He was so confused when I came home from the shops a few weeks ago, he asked what I bought. Because I have no shame I told him the truth that I got new bras because an underwire broke on me and poked into me. He has zero clue what an underwire was"

"Oh my god that man..." Misa laughed.

"I'm at the corner, I'll be back in like three minutes" you replied.

"Ok, thanks. See you"

"Bye"

Hanging up and putting your phone in your pocket you turned the corner and made your way back into taskforce. When you walked back up the stairs you could hear Light talking. The closer you got, the more surprised and amused you were. He was explaining to L how labour worked. Oh Light your tortured soul, you may be a killer but having to explain this to L must be way worse. Or amusing, that too.

You entered the room, looking over at the two boys.

L looked horrified. You let out a snicker at his expression. The noise caught his attention and he looked over at you.

"(Y/n)" he said.

"Yeah?"

"How- How are you even alive?"

You and Light just laughed.

"Honestly I don't even know myself" You giggled.

"Are you girls made of metal or something? How do you endure so much pain?" He asked.

"No idea. Good thing I'm never gonna put myself though birth pain. I'll adopt thank you very much"

You left to go give Misa the supplies upstairs, leaving the boys to their educational chat.

"You think you know enough to carry a relationship now?" Light snickered.

"I think..? God, I don't know if I want to know more..."
