Always a loner trying to find my way
No chance for me around the normal.
Lost in the noise with unfamiliar faces
Starved soul just living in some places.

Big waves push testing for new limits
With steady pace I frail in my balance.
I fail and fall but I get up, still breathing
More lessons learned this life is giving.

Take time I say, and see the clear picture
I can do more, climb to find another door,
Old scars I wear and even recent bruises
Can I forget it and put it all behind me?

Immersed in my own world is all I need,
Do tasks, avoid distractions, is a routine.
Today no different than tomorrow...
One goal in mind, work hard, I've got this
Help out and learn, I know I can not miss.

No time to break, another hand is needed
But that's just one, lot more that pleaded.
Small jump and take, don't let them fall,
Deep breath, relief now you've got it all.
"It's ok", a small voice inside keep going
There's hope and strength still showing.

Day in, day out, pain comes and goes
It's all the same, the never ending cycle.
To stop now, I should know better not to
I wait the knowing pain used how it tear.
But nothing comes and then I see YOU
Feel your embrace, in shock if it is true.

It's all too quiet, my eyes are closed tight
The need to run is gone, so is the fright.
Can this be real? A dream? Am I awake?
And that's when I realize the steps I take.
I can't go now, there's more for me to do!

"You're not alone", a calm voice whispers
"I'm right beside you, no one can hurt us.
Let's take this road together and see,
From this day forward how Life can be."

More than a decade and a half later,
I'm not alone, YOU kept your promise.
Surprise adventure took us in new land,
So many unexpected turns we've had.
There's wins and losses, still holding on.
Hope, strength and love you give it all
With you, I know I can be better, do more
