JUNO's POV
When Mr. Amouretti left me there and went out of the club, I didn't know what to do. I wanted to chase after him and make him hear me out but I knew that he would never listen to me judging by his answer and reaction just now.
I remained standing there on my spot, feeling hopeless. I almost begged already but he remained unmoving and emotionless of my words. He evidently was the kind of guy that was hard to make him change his mind.
I bit my lower lip while thinking of what would I do next. I couldn't believe that I came all the way here from Greece just to talk to him but he wouldn't listen to my reasons. I knew that I was asking for too much but I wanted to make him understand how important MMTC to me. I would never give up on it just like that without any fight. That's the spirit, Juno! You're already here so do your best.
I decided to run after him. If I need to plead him, I would do it. I would swallow my pride just for the sake of MMTC.
I was not after the position anymore. I was after the company. I would accept it I'd lose my position as long as he would not withdraw his shares because if he did that, our family was not the only one who would suffer.
Many employees will be jobless if the company would go bankrupt and close. These employees have their own families that they support financially. Just thinking that they will get affected was awful and sad already.
I went out of the club and then looked around, looking for him. I thought he wasn't there anymore but I saw him at the parking lot, near his car.
I walked towards him but my steps came to a halt when I saw him suddenly rushed towards the two men that were talking not far from him and then punched them. My eyes widened.
I recognized one of the men. He was the man who dragged me to the VIP area inside the club a while ago.
My feet moved on their own accord and almost ran towards them hurriedly. I didn't know why but I suddenly got worried that they might hit him back because of what he did. I wanted to stop them.
I was about to call for him when Mr. Amouretti spoke in a threatening voice. His voice was way different whenever he was talking with his normal voice. It was chilly-Ice and it almost made me shiver.
"Don't you ever do that to any woman again, especially to that girl because if you did that again, I will make sure to make your lives living hell." I got surprised of what I heard him say. I didn't expect that at all.
When I told him a while ago that that man forced me and dragged me to their table, he was sarcastic and looked like he didn't believe me at all.
I thought he was a cold guy without a heart but I guess I was wrong. I couldn't react right away as I stared at him in disbelief. The two men he punched and threatened ran away in fear.
When he got inside his car and drove off, I stayed there, following him with my eyes. I took a deep breath as I clutched my chest.
My heart was beating wildly and I didn't understand why. My breath became un-even and I felt like I suddenly had the difficulty breathing normally. I've never felt this way before. It was so weird. I swallowed hard as I turned around and slowly walked back inside the club.
I couldn't even talk to him because of what happened. Just forget about him, Juno. You did your best but you couldn't make him change his mind...
I kept on repeating that on my mind but his face never left my mind. I've never imagined that he would really care enough to even punch that man because of what he did to me.
"What the hell, Juno! You made us so worried! We thought someone kidnapped you already because you weren't here at our table when we got back from the restroom!" Maggie said exasperatedly when they saw me.
"I'm sorry. I just saw someone I know and we talked." I answered apologetically. They finally smiled.
"Don't worry about it. I already told Maggie that you probably went somewhere but she wouldn't calm down." Christine said and then rolled her eyes at her sister.
"Hello?! I was the one who invited Juno to come with us that's why she's my responsibility." Maggie reasoned out. I chuckled.
"Don't sweat it. I'm already here so let's just have fun." They agreed cheerfully. We ordered our drinks as we talked about random things.
We danced as well and I tried to have fun even though my mind was still busy thinking about what happened a while ago. I couldn't forget that particular outside the bar. I still couldn't believe that I would hear those words from him.
"So, do you have a boyfriend, Juno?" Maggie asked, clearly drunk. I just took a couple of shots because Maggie was obviously trying to get wasted and I might be the one to drive us three home. Christine was drunk already as well. They looked fine but I knew that the alcohol already took effect.
"Yes. I have a boyfriend. What about you, Christine?" Christine chuckled and was about to answer when her eyes suddenly bulged as her eyes looked passed me.
"Oh, sh*t!" she cussed. I followed her gaze and looked behind me. I saw a handsome man who was staring at us, at Christine to be exact and he looked livid.
"Oh, uh." I heard Maggie mumbled.
"What's happening? Do you know that guy?" I asked curiously. Christine gulped.
"Let's go home." I heard the stern voice of the man the moment he approached us. He clearly wasn't happy.
"H-Hey. What are you doing here?" Christine asked, obviously tensed.
"Don't give me that. Stand up and let's go." he ordered. The nervous look on Christine's face suddenly changed. She became feisty and annoyed.
"I am still having fun. I don't want to go home yet." the jaw of the man moved as his jaw flexed. Before anyone could react, he suddenly scooped Christine up onto his arms from her seat and then carried her out of the club. She kept on thrashing and yelling for him to put her down but he didn't listen to her.
"Oh, my God! Let's follow them!" I said to Maggie in panic but she shook her head.
"Let them be." My jaw dropped. She looked calm.
"Are you serious?! Someone just took your sister---"
"---he's her husband." I was at lost for words.
"What? I thought you were the one who was married not Christine?" I asked after I found my voice.
"She just got married last week. Don't worry about her. Let's just go home." She stood up and was about to walk when she lost her balance. Thankfully, she got a hold onto the edge of the table.
"Oh, my...Looks like I'm drunk." She laughed upon saying that. I stood up as well just to be surprised when the world suddenly spun around. Sh*t! The effect of the alcohol was getting into me. I thought I controlled my alcohol intake but looked like I still got drunk.
We were both supporting each other while we were walking towards the exit when we ran into someone. It was the one of the men that was with Mr. Amouretti a while ago. I suddenly remembered his name. Kyrus.
"Hey, Mags. It's nice to see you here. This is strange. I didn't know that you came home from Australia. Where's your husband?" he said.
"Sh*t up, Kyrus! Don't ever remind me of that man!" Maggie answered in irritation. Judging by the way they conversed, they knew each other. Kyrus laughed.
"Why? Don't tell me, you two already got divorced?!" Maggie glared at him.
"Okay. I get it. You don't need to glare at me like that." He answered when he noticed Maggie's sharp stare.
"Let's go." Maggie pulled me by the hand and was about to walk when she suddenly lost her balance.
"Man. Your husband will kill me if I'll leave you here in this state." He was about to lift her up but he pulled back his hands like he got burned or something.
"Damn. I can't carry either. He will kill me for sure if I'd do that." he mumbled but we still heard it. Instead of carrying Maggie, he helped her walk by putting her arm over her shoulders and then assisted her.
I followed them even though I was having a hard time keeping up with them because I was drunk myself.
"Sorry, but I need to take you two with me. I can't just send Mags home like this. It will be better for the two of you if you go home tomorrow. Don't worry, one of my men will drive your car." Kyrus said when he opened his car and deposited Maggie inside.
"But—" I was about to protest but he interrupted me.
"---don't worry. Maggie's husband is my friend." I didn't answer and just sat next to Maggie. My eyes were heavy already.
Kyrus was about to close the door when I heard another voice. He was one of Mr. Amouretti's friends as well.
"You can't drive. You're drunk, bud." The guy said. Kyrus laughed.
"Don't worry. Since Brey left, I didn't take any shot so I'm fine now. I won't drive if I knew that I'm already wasted." He answered.
"Are you sure?"
"Positive, man." The guy nodded his head and then left. After that, Kyrus closed the door.
"Are you sure you're not drunk?" I couldn't help but asked even though I was already so sleepy. HE chuckled.
"I've already sobered up. Anyway, I'm sorry for what happened earlier. I didn't know that that man man forced you to come at the VIP area. I just paid that guy to bring a woman for Brey because I wanted to piss him off but they involved you in it." he said apologetically.
"Apology accepted." I answered and closed my eyes. To my surprise, Mr. Amouretti's face popped up in my head again. I groaned inwardly. Damn, Juno! What's happening to you?!
I felt the car moved. I didn't know what happened after that because sleep consumed me.
When I opened my eyes, I realized that I was in an unfamiliar room with Maggie sleeping next to me. I looked at the couch and saw Kyrus sleeping there.
I sat up and I groaned when I felt my hung-over kicked in. I wanted to wash my face so I slowly went inside the door that I saw. I was right. It was the bathroom. I washed my face and when I saw some unused toothbrush, I took the liberty to use one.
After brushing my teeth, I went out of the room. I wanted to drink water badly because my throat was already sandy dry. I wanted to wake up Kyrus to ask him where the kitchen was but he was still sleeping.
I decided to go find it by myself. I realized that the house we were in was huge. It was a modern luxury house. There was even an elevator but I chose to find the stairs. I decided to go downstairs, hoping to find someone there. I could hear some noises coming from downstairs.
I slowly walked down the grand staircase while looking around. I didn't know why but the house doesn't feel homey or something. The interior design looked so bland in my opinion even though it might looked beautiful in other's opinion.
I was right. There were people downstairs when I arrived there. Judging by their uniforms, they were household helpers. One of them was busy vacuuming while the other one was mopping the already vacuumed areas.
"Excuse me." I said to get their attention. They looked surprised upon seeing me. They were about to answer when someone suddenly spoke.
"Who are you? Are you a visitor of my son?" an older man asked. He looked like he just finished jogging just by looking at his outfit. He was looking at me intently.
Before I could even answer, one of the maids spoke.
"Yes, sir. She just came from upstairs." I gulped inaudibly. The man was looking at me with a serious expression on his face and I suddenly felt tensed. He looked strict.
"Sorry to---" I tried to speak but he spoke again.
"---Don't tell me, you're the girlfriend of my son?" my eyebrows furrowed. His face softened. He suddenly looked happy and excited. I wanted to tell him that he had the wrong idea but he didn't give me the chance to do so.
"This is so sudden. I was just pestering my son last night about getting married. I thought he was just lying when he told me that he already had a girlfriend just to make me stop me setting him up with the daughters of my associates." He said cheerfully.
"It's nice meeting you..."
"I'm Juno, sir—"
"Juno?"
"Juno Alexia Morgan, sir, but I think you have the wro---"
"Morgan? Are you related to Tony Morgan?" he asked. That surprised me.
"Yes, sir. He's my father." He nodded his head and then smiled.
"I know your father. Even though we weren't that close when he was still alive, I know that he's a good businessman." He held my hand.
"This is a surprise. You don't know how happy I am right now because I finally met the girlfriend of my son." His eyes were twinkling with joy and I didn't know how to react of that awkward situation. I was happy knowing that he praised my father but the fact that he had the wrong idea about me and his son felt so wrong.
I've never even met Kyrus before.
"Sir, Kyrus and I aren't in a relationship." He laughed.
"Why? Is my son getting jealous of Kyrus? Did you two perhaps had a misunderstanding that's why you're here? Don't worry, you two will sort it out for sure." that made my eyebrows scrunched. Then my eyes suddenly caught something.
I gasped for air when I saw the big picture that was hanging on the wall. It was Mr. Brey Amouretti! How come we're here in his house?!
"I'm sorry that I'm this excited. My son never brought a girl home before nor introduced to me. Now, I can finally rest assured. I promised myself that I would introduce him as my son to the world the moment he would get serious to a girl and get married." I shook my head. I should make everything clear before it's too late.
"Sir, I have something to tell you."
"What is it, Ms. Morgan?"
"Me and your son---"
"---are in a relationship. You're right dad. She's my girlfriend." My jaw dropped as I looked at the man who suddenly approached us and then put his arm over my shoulders and then pulled me closer to him. What the heck?! Is he crazy?!
