Karma's POV
I opened the front door finding my blue-tailed cat sitting there waiting for me.

"Meowcome back Karma!!"
"Have you been good today? You didn't break anything right?"
"No I didn't meow!"

I smiled and picked him up. I set him on the couch before walking towards my room to get a change of clothes. I took a quick shower and got back to the living room. I found him sleeping on the couch. Walking over, I sat down beside him and patted his hair. I sighed.

3 months ago...

Walking down the streets I took a sip out of my strawberry milk. It was just a normal school day, or so I thought.

"Morning Karma!" I felt someone tap on my shoulder.
"Oh mornin' Nagisa. You're quite early today."
"Uh-huh. Let's go!!" He dragged me along.
"Okay okay." I threw the empty box in the trashcan and followed behind the blue.

We were the first to reach school. There was no one there since it was still early.

"Wanna take a walk Nagi? It's still early." I asked.
"Sure."

We walked down the hill and went for a walk along the streets instead. We walked through the alley. That was when something bad happened.

Nagisa was taken, by strangers. But when I was going to shout for some help, I was knocked on the head. I collapsed not long after that.

When I woke up, I was tied to a chair in the corner of a room. I tried remembering where I was and instantly thought of Nagisa. I struggled to break free but the role seemed to be too tight. I gave up and glanced around. Nagisa was nowhere to be found.

I sat there for who knows how long when I heard screaming. It was Nagisa's scream. I freaked out and tried to find something that I could use to cut the ropes.

"Goddamit! I shouldn't have asked him to come along with me!" I cursed.

I felt tears running down my cheeks while struggling to find something. Suddenly, the door opened. There were three men standing there, holding a cat with a blue tail.

"Did you have a sweet dream?"
"Where am I? Where is Nagisa?" I asked him, glaring at him.
"Oh you mean that blue-haired guy with pigtails? Here, you can have him." With that, the man threw the cat towards my direction.

I looked at the cat. That can't be....

"Oh what's wrong? Don't like him being a cat?" He laughed.
"You... turn him back this instant!" I yelled at him.
"No can do! That'll be a waste of money!" He said and untied me.

I was about to land a punch on his face when I was stopped by the other two men.

"Let go of me!" I struggled.

Again, I was knocked out cold. When I was awake, they were gone and only the blue-tailed cat was there. Which is Nagisa.

"N-nagisa?"
"Meow? Who are you meow?" I was shocked.
"You don't remember me? I'm Karma. Karma Akabane." I picked him up.
"Hmm.. nope meow!" He smiled.

I walked down the hallway and eventually found a way out of this place. I didn't go back to school to retrieve our bags but went home instead.

My parents weren't home. It's like they're never home. I washed the wound where they hit me and changed my uniform. Nagi- the cat was rolling around on my couch. I walked over and sat down. He jumped on my lap and I patted his head.

I started to cry after a while. I shouldn't have asked for him to go on a walk with me. Why am I so useless? I can't even protect my best friend when I'm the best combat assassin in class.

"Why are you crying meow?" He glanced at me. He completely forgot about me.
"I-i'm sorry.. I'm sorry.." I felt more tears escaping my eyes.
"Meow don't cry." He touched my elbow.
"I'm sorry..."

Back to reality

I found my shirt stained with my tears. He was still asleep. I'm sorry..

I wiped off my tears and leaned back before closing my eyes.

I swear I'm going to turn you back.... I swear...
