A night on the town part 1
Lights shone brightly everyone. The sound of people talking and gossiping filled the room. The stench of alcohol filled her nose. Just one more drink she promised herself. One more.
Kyra and Eliza had been with eachother for a year now but Eliza still didn't know Kyra's secret. She knew something was up but couldn't exactly figure out what. And Kyra wasn't ready to tell her. Not yet. Not if it could scare her away. She'd finally found someone who loved her for her not her looks and she couldn't ruin that. So when she caught a glimpse of herself, her true, trapped self, in a mirror, she didn't know what to do but run to the tavern to escape her sorrows.
So that's what she was doing now. Outside it was pitch black but inside bright, coloured lights created by magic danced around the room, but not in a cute way. In a "this will give you a headache" way. Her head was already throbbing from the alcohol but she couldn't stop drinking. Not until she'd completely drowned her sorrows. And she still felt like crap, worse if anything.
Finally, she'd had enough of the lights and the noise and pulled herself to her feet before stumbling outside to catch a breath of fresh air. And oh the air was like holy water. As she inhaled, her head felt clearer and a small smile crept across her face. Unfortunately, this wasn't for long.
Feeling content, she closed her eyes for a moment but when she opened them, she was surrounded. A misfit group of rogues cornered her and she let out a small gulp. "Um hello" she squeaked, unsure of what else to do. Her heart was beating a million miles per minute.
"Give us all you've got" a human demanded, his voice deep and gruff.
"I haven't got anything! Honest" she yelped.
He rolled his eyes. "Search her" he ordered. Before she could react, they started to attack her. They punched and pinched and hit and shoved and stabbed until she was nothing but a crumbled pile on the floor. She may have looked tough in her dragon form and was a lot taller than them but in this state, she was more vulnerable than she would have liked.
When she was sure they had left, she let out a small sob, staring at the blood trickling down her body, her vision blurred and starting to fade.
At that moment, a familiar looking tiefling came round the corner, a smirk on her face as she glanced through the tavern window, seeing if there was anything worth stealing. Kyra wanted to yell for help but her voice had gone so all she could do was let out a small groan.
This immediately caught the tiefling's attention as her girlfriend quickly span around on her feet, scanning the area before her eyes landed on Kyra, bloody and bruised. She let out a small gasp and she knelt to her side.
Without saying a word, Eliza gently tilted Kyra's chin up to get a better look at her face and what had happened. She delicately thumbed away a streak of blood by Kyra's mouth, saying nothing as she examined it. After a brief pause, Kyra's heart skipped a beat as Eliza looked her dead in the eyes. Her voice was quiet and tense, her anger barely restrained.
"Who did this to you?"
