Kylo's strange Dream
She tried to run after him but found her way blocked by Stormtroopers. "Who are you? What's your rank? Where is your uniform?" The Stormtrooper demanded
"I don't have time for this!" My mother replied angrily.
As she tried to push past the stormtrooper he grabbed her arm. "Who are you?" My mother glared angrily at the Stormtrooper but did not reply. "Are you a spy for the resistance?"
"How did you get on this base?" The Stormtrooper demanded but my mother remained silent. "Take her to the detention center until I can discover what is to be done with her."
"Your going to regret this." My mother growled as she struggled to get out of the stormtrooper's grasp.
"I'm sure we will." The Stormtrooper replied sarcastically.
Meanwhile, Kylo Ren exhausted returned to his quarters to try and get some rest. Before doing so he went over to his most prized possession (a melted and charred helmet)and knelt down before it.
"Forgive me. I feel it again the pull to the light. It seems to stem from concern about a force sensitive child. Show me again the power of the darkness. Show me and I will do what needs to be done. Show me Grandfather." Kylo pleaded but as usual, the only answer was silence.
Kylo sighed and rose from his position and removed his helmet placing it on a stand. Perhaps a rest would help to clear his mind. "Benjamin." Kylo frowned as he heard someone call his name.
"I don't know who you are, but no one calls me that. That name has no meaning to me." Kylo replied.
"It is the name of your true self. The self that your constantly trying to deny." The voice replied.
"Who are you? Show yourself!" Kylo replied igniting his lightsaber.
"Hello Ben."
"Solo. What are you doing here? I thought I..."
"Killed me?" Han replied with a slight chuckle. "You did."
"I'm dreaming aren't I?" Kylo asked and Han nodded. "What are you doing in my dream? What do you want?" Kylo demanded. Han shrugged.
"It's your dream. You tell me." Han replied with his cockey smile that he was famous for.
"I won't apologize for what I did."
"Did I ask you too?" Han replied.
"Well, no but..."
"Ben you are my Son. What happened can't be changed and it truth, it doesn't matter. I still love you, and I always will. All that matters right now is the fate of that young child. She is truly special. Don't let her suffer the same fate you have, or one day the situation we were in will be reversed except you'll find yourself on the other end of the lightsaber. She will ask you the same thing you asked me." Han warned.
"Are you saying that she's my daughter and that she will one day kill me? Since when can you predict the future?" Kylo asked in surprise.
"I can't. There is however, someone who can. A great master of the force and a great warrior. He was greatly respected by your grandfather. Follow the path and it will lead you to the answers you so desperately seek." Han replied.
Kylo hesitated but then slowly walked down the path. As he did he started to feel uneasy. "I feel as if.... I'm being watched." Kylo said igniting his lightsaber.
"Away with your weapon. I mean you no harm." The old green alien creature replied shielding himself. "I am wondering why are you here?"
"I'm looking for someone." Kylo replied.
"Looking? Found someone you did." The old alien replied with a laugh.
Kylo frowned beneath his mask. This alien seemed familiar but he couldn't place where he might have seen him before. "Who are you?"
"Who am I? A good question that is yes indeed." The alien replied nodding his head. "However, 'tis not the question that needs answering. Who are you, that is what you are here to discover are you not?" The alien replied.
"Yes. I mean no. That is it say... Ugh! I don't know why I'm here." Kylo replied in irritation.
"Aww, not know why your here?" The alien replied mockingly as he laughed.
"Don't mock me. I'm looking for a great warrior and master of the force. My father told me that he could provide answers to the questions I have."
"In all the wrong places, looking you are." The old alien replied.
"I don't understand." Kylo replied and the alien sighed.
"As stubborn as your uncle you are."
"What does my Uncle have to do with anything?" Kylo asked angrily.
"Felt betrayed by his actions you did. To the darkside you turned. Much conflict I sense in you. The decision to kill your father question you do." The old alien replied.
"I did what I had to do. Han Solo was weak, I had to kill him in order to be able to fulfill my destiny." Kylo replied.
"Your Master told you this, did he?" The old
alien asked.
"Who are you to judge the Supreme Leader? He is wise and He is more of a father to me then Han Solo ever was."
"Made up your mind it sounds like you have. Nothing more I can teach you, if hardened your heart to the truth." The old alien replied.
"If my heart is hardened, it is my Uncle's fault. He was afraid of my power and he tried to kill me because of it." Kylo replied bitterly.
"Blame others always do you for the decisions you make?" The alien asked amused.
"No." Kylo replied with a pout.
"Yes you do. Yes you do. You Blame your mother and father for sending you away. If they truly loved you they never would have sent you to live with your Uncle. They would have accepted you for who you were. Blame your Uncle you do for your turning to the darkside. Feared your power, he did not. Fear of the darkness surrounding your heart, he did."
"Blame your decision to murder your fellow padwan learners on both your Uncle, Your Master and Your Grandfather. Blame the First Order and your Master and your Grandfather you did for your decision not to stay with the beautiful lady, who captured your heart."
"Blame the woman you do, for not telling you about her child's birth years ago. Blame this child you do, for feeling the pull to the light. Afraid you are, that she will be able to lead you back to your true path. True, this last One may very well be. Seek to discover her parentage you do."
"My father said that you could tell me if she will be my downfall."
"Always in motion the future is. Hard to see the outcome maybe. To discover the truth, look deep inside yourself you must." The old alien replied.
Kylo sighed in frustration as the old alien disappeared. He knew that he needed to continue his journey if he was to discover the answers that he sought. Yet, he wasn't sure he wanted these questions to be answered.
"Hello Ben." Came a very familiar voice and instantly Kylo ignited his lightsaber. "I don't want to fight you. Despite your misguided beliefs you are still family. No matter how much you try to deny it, you will always be my nephew." The old man said with a sigh.
"I hate you." Kylo replied.
"I know. I made a mistake and I'm sorry." Please Ben listen to me." Luke pleaded.
"Why should I listen to a word you have to say. I trusted you and you betrayed me. You were frightened of my power and so you tried to murder me. I will never forgive you for that. I will finish what Vader started. I will put and end to the Jedi once and for all." Kylo replied and Luke sighed.
"Everything about that sentence is wrong. However, I love you Ben and no matter what you do, I always will." With that Luke disappeared leaving a frustrated Kylo.
Furious at his Uncle's comment Kylo began slashing a nearby tree until he heard the sound of laughter behind him. "I thought that you'd be the next Darth Vader but now I see that I was mistaken. All you are is a boy playing dress up in a world far above your understanding." A figure in the darkness said with a sigh of disappointment.
"Master? Is that you?" Kylo asked.
"One day I will tire of your childish antics and I will find myself a true apprentice. That young woman who defeated you so easily. She is extremely strong in the force. As for the child, your love for her mother, has clouded your judgment concerning her."
"Don't allow yourself to be pulled towards the light. Remember, Vader's weakness was his compassion and love for his son. Don't fall pray to the same mistakes that lead to his downfall and ultimately his death. Kill her. It is the only way to ensure your triumph." The figure shrouded in darkness replied.
"She's an innocent child. She doesn't deserve to
be murdered in cold blood."
"Do you think a child's age stopped your grandfather from fulfilling his destiny? No. He killed thousands of young padwan and yet you can not bring yourself to kill one child? Your pathetic. You will never live up to Vader's legend." The voice called after him as he continued along this strange and winding path. As he did he began to wonder who he would meet next on his journey.
"Hello Kylo." Came a deep and somewhat intimidating voice.
"Who are you?"
"I am known by many names. When I was younger I was called Slave, the maker, By 9, I was called the Chosen One by some, Padwan or young one by others, husband and father to be in later years. Some called me the Dark Lord of the Sith, now I am called Grandfather, and more recently Great Grandfather..."
"Enough of your riddles! Tell me plainly who are you?" Kylo demanded angrily.
Kylo heard and sigh of irritation and then Vader stepped into the light. Kylo immediately knelt down before him. "Can you forgive me Grandfather?"
"For what?" Vader asked.
"I continually feel it. The pull to the light." Kylo replied.
"Why fight who you are Benjamin?" Vader asked.
"What did you just call me?" Kylo demanded angrily igniting his lightsaber pointing it at. Vader who sighed and shook his head in disappointment. "Your not my Grandfather. Your not Darth Vader."
"Listen to me Kylo, I was foolish to trust Palpatine, just as you are foolish to put your trust in this Man who calls himself the Supreme Leader. He is using you, just like my master used me all those years ago. I could have had everything I ever desired had I let go of my fears and my foolish pride."
"You must not let this "Master" of yours control you. He knows how powerful you are and how powerful you can become. The moment you become a threat to him or the moment you outlive your usefulness, he will dispose of you." Vader warned.
"I trust Snoke, he is like a father to me. He's more of a father to me then Han ever was." Kylo replied bitterly.
"I'm not going to get through to you am I?" Vader asked sadly.
"Nothing you can say will ever turn me away from my Master. Besides, I'm only doing what you would have wanted. I'm finishing what you started." Kylo replied.
"Did your Master ever tell you why I turned to the dark side of the force?"
"He said it's because the darkness is more powerful then the light."
"Wrong. It was because I wanted to have the ability to stop the ones I loved from dying. Influenced by Palpatine, my desire for power only grew. I forgot my reason for turning to the dark side. Ultimately I lost the very person I had set out to save. You are a lot like me in many ways. You are full of pride. May I ask you a question?"
"Fine. What do you want to know?"
"How would you feel if you knew that your master told the girl Rey to kill you?"
"He would never do that."
"Ahhh but he did. You would not be here if she had given into her hatred and anger." Vader replied. "Your Master has manipulated and lied to you from the very beginning and I can prove it."
"How?" Kylo demanded.
"The child is yours." Vader replied.
"What?"
"The child who is Force sensitive is your daughter. Snoke knew just as my Master did, that if you were to have any children they would be a threat to him. He knew that they could turn you back to the light. That is why he tampered with the Paternity test. Search your feelings my Grandson, you know this to be true."
"So tell me Grandfather, what would you have me do?"
"Know this, it is your connection to both sides of the force that makes you strong. You alone must decide your fate and the fate of your daughter..." Vader replied.
