Teams: Thank you for the good game!

Ryu: Good game guys!

Hyuga: You too. You're really starting to use that skill to the teams advantage now too.

Ryu: Not exactly very easy for me.

Kagami: AHA!! We finally see what the invincible Ace is weak at!!

Ryu: Sh-Shut up! I did better than you in everything!

Izuki: Haha! Hey come on, you've got the best... Second best passer on the team as your Senpai, and we're here to help out the younger guys!

Ryu: Actually I wanted to talk to you about that. I was wondering if-

Ryu glanced at the lock before his head shot over to it seeing the time.

Ryu: CRAP! It's already that time!

He quickly ran into the locker room putting his sweatsuit on.

Ryu: GOTTA GO GUYS LATER!

He ran out the door before getting on his bike riding away.

Kagami: Where the hell is he off to?!

Kuroko: Most likely to see his girlfriend.

Seirin: HIS WHAT?!!

Kagami: We just finished a game, can't he just ride on the bus with the rest of us?!

Kuroko: Not likely. His visiting hours start in only 30 more minutes.

Riko: Visiting hours?

TIME SKIP!!

Ryu was biking fast as after 27 minutes he was able to get to a hospital.

Ryu: *Pant* MADE IT!!

He chained his bike before dashing in sliding at a desk.

Ryu: *Pant* Ahaha, is room 133 open?

Nurse: Oh Mr Kaizen! Yes go right on ahead!

He walked to the next floor getting to the designated room. He opened it revealing a girl with bright red hair in a hospital bed looking outside with sparkling yellow eyes.

Ryu: Guess who?

She turned around before smiling seeing Ryu's own.

???: You made it again!

Ryu: Hey, I told you I'd get as much time as I could out of visiting hours Karma.

He pulled up a chair before sitting beside the bed.

Karma: It's okay if you're a little late sometimes dummy. How'd the game go?

Ryu: Against Shinkyo? Pfft, they were chumps. We crushed 'em by scoring more than double their points.

Karma: Sounds like you're as good as ever.

She pecked him on the cheek.

Ryu: Anyway how's rehab going?

Karma: Great! The surgery on my leg took a lot out of me, but the doctor says I'll be on track to make a full recovery before soccer season!

Ryu: That's awesome!

Karma: But you know, right now you could be practicing for the next match. Right after Seiho you're gonna have to play Shin.

Ryu: Pfft, what good will burning myself out do? And plus, if I'll have time to practice later. What I won't is seeing you with all the work you need to do.

Hearing that the girl smiled.

Karma: Okay okay, you have a point. But after that you know it's not gonna be easy. Daiki has gotten a lot better lately too. And he's got some more help.

Ryu: Hm?

Karma: Just remember, there are still other players that are at the level of the Generation of Miracles you just don't know about.

Ryu: Well you don't need to remind me.

He remembered a teen with black and white hair as his red eyes shone.

Ryu: I'll never forget something that important.

Karma: ANYWAY on a more relaxing note, the doctors say that I'll be able to go out for a day of my choosing next week!

Ryu: Sweet.

Karma: Judging by the roster you texted me, I wanna see the games you play against Seiho and Shintoku.

Ryu: I guess those are the obvious ones we'd face. Looking forward to it. Though you haven't seen me play in a while, so don't get too blown away.

Karma: I make no such promises.

TIME SKIP!!

Ryu: -_- Of fucking course that bastard joined Seiho.

Ryu Kagami and Kuroko were in the locker room watching an old tape.

Kagami: Hold on, do you know one of them?

Ryu: The cueball.

Kuroko: Yeah. It was right around when we just started, but he somehow nearly managed to get the best of Ryu.

At that comment the aforementioned teen bonked Kuroko on the top of the head, forming a steaming bump.

Kuroko: Ow.

Ryu: -_- You asked for that one being so blunt Tetsu.

Kagami: What the hell did he mean by that?!

Kuroko: Well usually Ryu could score 40, no problem.

Ryu: That time I only scored 24.

He clenched his fist.

Ryu: I swear I'm gonna make his head spin if he tries to guard me!!

Kagami: O_O

Kuroko: He took it personally.

TIME SKIP!!

Finally they day had come for the Semifinal and Final matches. Ryu and Kagami were doing a light one on one, and Ryu had the ball.

Ryu: 'Feeling a little bouncy today. Let's be a little extra.'

He pushed the ball out in a dribble as Kagami saw it thinking.

Kagami: 'Wait, is he about to do a Shammgod?'

Kagami went right trying to read the move, but at this Ryu dribbled the ball going left instead.

Kagami: 'Of course he's not!'

Getting past Kagami Ryu bounced the ball hard before jumping and doing a 360 dunk.

Ryu: Oh yeah, I'm feeling good.

Ryu looked over at Shintoku seeing a green haired teen slightly taller than himself. Seeing this the green haired teen looked back.

Ryu: You better be ready Shin. I'm 1 for 5 now.

Hyuga: NOT THE ONE YOU SHOULD BE STARING DOWN!!!

Hyuga turned Ryu's head not meeting any resistance a little surprised.

Ryu: OHOHO don't worry about me Captain. My priorities are strait as a line!

He looked at Seiho glaring daggers at Tomoki Suguwa. This forced a chill to go up the bald teens spine.

Suguwa: Ah crap, I know that death stare...

Iwamura: Suguwa, what's up with you?

Suguwa turned around seeing Ryu walking away.

Suguwa: *Gulp* Oh yeah, that's the guy!!

Kasuga: Ryu Kaizen? Yeah he's one of the Generation of Miracles Aces.

He quickly made his way over.

Suguwa: Long time no see!!

They turned looking at Suguwa.

Ryu: -_-

Suguwa: Hey, you're Kagami aren't ya? The other of the two strong guys on the Serin team of weaklings!

Immediately flames shot fourth from Ryu scaring Suguwa. A second after Iwamura clocked him upside the head.

Iwamura: Gonna need you to stop goofing off kid. Sorry guys, he's got a bad habit of saying the first thing that pops into his head.

Ryu: Oh trust me, I learned.

Hyuga: Why don't you keep the apology. We'll win and called it squared. Look down on us like you did last year, and we'll make you regret it.

Iwamura: I don't think so. Look, nobody's looking down on you. It's a fact that you were weak. That's all.

The flames around Ryu seemed to only be fueled. Karma looked from the crowd snickering.

Karma: Well, he's done it now.

Midorima: Takao, remember what I said before?

Takao: What, about Serin possibly losing?

Midorima: Forget everything I said. He just made our lives ten times harder. Ryu's motivation doesn't just extinguish after one game. It lingers and carries over.

The teams began changing in the locker rooms as the Serin members felt as if they were being burned from being near Ryu.

Riko: Mind toning that fire down until the game starts?!

Kuroko: Better now than never.

The teams went onto the court. Izuki was at the 1, Hyuga was at the 2, Kuroko was at the 3, Kagami was at the 4, and Ryu was the 5. The ref threw the ball into the air for the tip-off, and like usual Ryu got it first.

Iwamura: 'Damn this guy!'

The ball had quickly reached Izuki and as soon as Ryu touched onto the ground, he was off to the other side of the court.

Kasuga: 'He's way too fast!!'

Izuki seeing this passed the ball to Kuroko who swung the ball in Ryu's direction as he caught it. He was in the corner and immediately shot the ball, hitting a 3 pointer.

Ryu: And with that, the momentum is in our favor.

He walked past Iwamura.

Ryu: So, how does 40 sound?

Iwamura seemed slightly agitated by this as Seiho got the ball.

Hyuga: Did you really just say how much you're planning to score on them you idiot?!

Ryu: Mind games Captain.

Seiho came in as Ryu looked around seeing the court.

Ryu: 'Judging by everyone on the court right now, I'm gonna be the one to most likely avoid the defense. However.'

Once Kasuga attempted to pass the ball down low to Iwamura, Kuroko was there to intercept as Serin wasted no time running the floor.

Ryu: 'They're forgetting about our Phantom on the court. Now comes the hard part.'

Once they got to half court Izuki was immediately cut off.

Ryu: 'Their damn Man to Man defense.' Izuki!!

Ryu jumped into the air, letting Izuki passed the ball into his hand. As he landed Suguwa was immediately on Ryu. In a counter clockwise motion he brought the ball down low along with himself.

Suguwa: One on One huh?

Ryu: Look, in all honesty I don't have a grudge against you specifically.

He began to dribble the ball between his legs.

Ryu: I'm actually more angry at the fact I didn't get the chance to do better!

He went to the right Suguwa reached in. However quickly Ryu crossed the ball over in his other hand making Suguwa stumble onto the ground.

Suguwa: 'So fast!!'

Ryu jumped before shooting the ball.

Ryu: Serin's gonna blow Seiho out of the water this time.

He sunk the shot as everyone cheered.

6-0 Serin

Ryu: Just try and stop us.

Serin jogged to get back on defense.

Kasuga: Alright Suguwa, I know it was only the second possession, but it's looking like that guy's got you read.

He went to get ready for offense as Suguwa chuckled a bit.

Suguwa: Oh you haven't seen anything yet. Brace for the fun, and the suffering.

Once again they went up the court, this time once anyone had gotten the ball, they immediately passed it getting rapidly closer to the basket. This led to Iwamura scoring a layup on Hyuga.

Kagami: 'This is gonna go back and fourth isn't it?'

8 minutes had passed at the scores started to increase.

20-10 Serin

Serin called for a timeout as the members on the court seemed to be losing steam quickly.

Riko: You were right Ryu. Seiho is using old martial arts.

Kagami: Martial Arts? HIII-

Ryu: No not like the movies. A technique they're using in Nanba Running. By moving their arms and legs together they're creating less strain on the body to move for longer periods of time. Hell they're using a bunch for effortless strength, quick and precise movements, if I weren't me I wouldn't have noticed the movements in the tape alone.

Izuki: You've scored 11 of our points, and gotten 2 assist. How are you able to move as freely as you are against them?

Ryu: The way their feet move in a dead giveaway. I'm also changing their pace.

Kagami: Their pace?

Karma: 'Ryu's not just some ordinary player. Anytime he's on the court most players feel pressured. When you feel pressure, you try to adapt. However he's not letting them. He always changes the tempo which he goes at with them. It's enough to throw the whole team off.'

Ryu: But that's not doing as much as I hoped. True whenever I touch the ball I'm able to score, but they're making it damn near impossible for us to pass the ball around to anyone.

Kuroko: Excuse me.

They all looked at Kuroko.

Kuroko: I think I might have an idea.

Ryu looked at him before realizing what he meant.

Ryu: Woah Tetsu, don't you think it's a little early for that combo?

Kuroko: Midorima is busy with his own game, so he probably won't realize. Even then he already knows.

Riko: What are you two talking about!

Ryu: Back in junior high the two of us had this trick we'd do when the defense is trying to keep the ball from being passed around. It's simple but effective.

Riko: *Sigh* Alright, let us hear it.

They gave them the specifics before the timeout was over. Serin got the ball up court as Izuki finally was up dribbling the ball.

Kasuga: 'My defense isn't anything to sneeze at either just because I'm a the playmaker.'

He immediately started putting pressure on Izuki who only smirked.

Izuki: 'You're up Kuroko.'

Ryu readied to move to where the ball was as Suguwa prepared to move.

Suguwa: 'Oh no you don't!!'

However he was stopped suddenly shocking him to see Kuroko.

Suguwa: When the hell did you get there?!!

The pass made it through to Ryu was immediately he shot the ball scoring a 3.

Iwamura: Sakamoto, how'd he get past you?!

Sakamoto: I don't know!! I blinked and he was just, gone!!

Ryu: 'The Phantom's screen. While I'm on the court everyone's attention is usually on me, drawing it away from Kuroko. He can set a screen for me, and they don't even notice until it's too late. Hell it might even be better with Kagami on too.'

A had a devilish smirk on his face.

Ryu: 'Making them scratch their heads in confusion is always a plus too.'

Karma watched in the crowd with seemingly a proud smile.

Karma: 'I taught him so well.'

The game continued as even thought the defense of Seiho was tight, the offense of Serin became stronger. Every time he was doubled, Ryu passed to Izuki, who then passed it up to either Hyuga for a three, or Kagami for a dunk. This combined with Kuroko's sneaky steals and passes made for a back and fourth quarter. At the final seconds for the possession Ryu and Kagami both ran the floor. Ryu deciding to be unselfish lobbed the ball up to Kagami, who jumped and slammed it down for a dramatic end to the quarter.

40-20 Serin

Serin and Seiho faced each other at the Quarters end.

Ryu: Yo cueball, how much did you guys finish with in the first quarter last year? You said you dusted us by 20? Tables turn huh?

Kagami smirked trying not to join in himself.

Kagami: 'Trash talking 101. Classic.'

Hyuga: Come on, be humble.

Ryu: Sorry, I'll save the bows for the end.

Iwamura looked down at Suguwa glaring.

Iwamura: Great, now he's playing harder because you don't know how to shut up.

Hyuga: But in regards to what Ryu said, it's alright now. We got over it.

They finally went to the bench as Ryu squirted water into his mouth.

Ryu: Jeez. As much shit as I was talking, Suguwa is a defensive pain in the ass.

He reached into his bag grabbing a container opening it to reveal honey lemon slices.

Ryu: Anyway guys, eat up.

Kagami: Hold on, did you make those?

Ryu: Duh.

He grabbed a slice for himself eating it.

Ryu: I figured we'd be playing those guys so I came prepared to replenish energy.

Hyuga Kuroko Kagami and Izuki dug in as well.

Izuki: Man these are delicious!

Ryu looked up after finishing another slice.

Ryu: Coach, can I make a suggestion?

Riko: Usually I'd have to think about it, but you've given us some wiggle room here, so I'll allow it.

Ryu: Can you sub Kuroko Kagami and I until 6 minutes into the second quarter?

Kagami chocked hearing this.

Kagami: What?!!

Kuroko: Why all of us?

Hyuga: Actually, we had that in mind too. It was decided before the game. You three are only gonna play the first half.

Ryu's eyes widened as he turned to them.

Ryu: Wait wait wait, ONLY?!! I know it'll be easier to beat Midorima when we're at full steam, but seriously?!

Izuki: What, do you not trust us to put this away without you?

Ryu jolted up hearing that.

Ryu: Hey hey hey, now you're just putting words into my mouth!

Hyuga: Just let us handle this.

Ryu: ... *Sigh* Alright, you got it.

TIME SKIP!!

The game continued as even though the three star players of Serin were on the bench, the 2nd years were indeed holding down the fort.

65-50 Serin

Riko: Alright you three, you're back in.

Ryu Kagami and Kuroko got back up ready to sub in. Once they did the starting lineup was back in the court with a Full Court Man to Man defense from Seiho. Ryu inbounded the ball to Izuki before it was sent right back to him while Suguwa guarded him tightly.

Suguwa: Back for more huh? This time I'm ready for you!

Ryu: Oh, that reminds me.

Suguwa: Huh?

Ryu: I said I'd drop 40 on you guys. I've got 6 minutes and I'm only halfway there.

He smirked beginning to dribble faster.

Ryu: Better get to work.

Immediately he drove in blowing past Suguwa shocking everyone. Even the Serin members aside from Kuroko.

Suguwa: 'WHAT THE HELL?!!!'

He drove to the other side of the court before stopping to pull up a three sinking the shot yet again.

Kasuga: Are you kidding me?

Ryu: Yeah, I try to achieve my goals.

They game started to progress again, and let's just say Ryu did not hold a thing back. Iwamura and Suguwa both had tried to double team him on the next possession, but that ended badly. Able to see with his Serin named Falcon Eye, he dribbled to the right making the two bump into each other, giving him time to shoot another three, giving him 26 points.

Ryu: Ah ah, no doubles. Let's keep it one on one.

Iwamura: 'Okay I know he has the right, but this guy's as cocky as they come!!'

On defense Ryu started to read the passes of Seiho starting to understand the pattern.

Ryu: 'Judging by how they've passed this entire game, then the ball will be going...'

It was passed to Suguwa who went for a layup, but Ryu intercepted the ball driving to the basket.

Suguwa: 'NO!!! YOU'RE NOT SCORING ANOTHER 3!!!'

He ran full speed jumping after Ryu.

Iwamura: NO SUGUWA!!

His warning was too late as Suguwa bumped into Ryu mid air. The ref blew the whistle while Ryu still shot the ball while off balance, making it.

Karma: 'Classic Ryu move.'

Kise and Muramatsu watched in the crowd.

Muramatsu: You have GOT to be kidding me!! I haven't seen him miss a single shot yet!!

Kise: You shouldn't be that surprised, you've seen him play before.

The blonde smiled looking at the game.

Kise: Defense of that level, is no match for Ryucchi.

He shot the free throw getting himself to thirty.

75-52 Serin

Muramatsu: That's 10 points in 2 freakin minutes!

Kise: I told you, don't be surprised. At least not yet.

Kuroko and Kagami got to work on the defense ends with steals and blocks respectively, as once the ball even bounced once Ryu was there to get it as in the next 3 possessions he made two 3's and a layup.

Kasuga: 'Hold on, it's not just him!!'

Iwamura: 'They're all getting past us now?!'

Suguwa: What the?! *Pant* What's going on?!!

Seiho 8: My guess, they know all our movements!

Ryu: 'Coach you're relentless, but you've gotta admit you're more thorough than anything. Pointing your toes in the direction you step is the first thing I picked up on.'

Seiho was back on defense once again and this time Suguwa gave nothing but 120% to keep Ryu away from the ball. Seeing this Ryu only smirked before running under his arm.

Suguwa: 'DAMNIT ALL!!!'

Suguwa ran under the basket as Kuroko lobbed the ball up to Ryu who leapt up ready. Suguwa jumped as well before realizing his mistake as Ryu grabbed the ball.

Suguwa: 'WHY THE HELL DID I JUMP?!!!'

Making contact Ryu slammed the ball in the hoop causing Suguwa to be pushed out of the air.

Suguwa: 'THIS IS THE SAME THING THAT HAPPENED LAST TIME!!!!'

And with that Ryu got his forty points. Everyone cheered before he took a bow.

Ryu: 'And that's how I play.'

At the moment the ref considered calling a tech, but let him have that moment.

Karma: 'Overboard as usual. To think he's still not even going all out.'

TIME SKIP!!

After sitting Kagami Ryu and Kuroko back down, Serin had won the game.

Suguwa: I thought Serin was a new school that just formed last year!! I guarantee we practice way more than them!! I DON'T GET IT!! They didn't stand a chance last year!! It makes no sense!! We should be stronger than them in every way-

Iwamura: That's enough Suguwa.

He placed a hand on his shoulder.

Suguwa: But why?!!

Iwamura: Strong or not we lost. Today was their day, so they're the winners. That's all there is to it.

Ryu turned and started to walk away.

Suguwa: YOU!!!

He turned back looking at Suguwa.

Suguwa: Tell me your nickname again!!

Kagami: He has a nickname?

Ryu turned facing Suguwa.

Ryu: It's the Black Ace. Ryu Kaizen.

Suguwa: I won't forget it!! You or that blue haired friend's name! Where is he?!

Ryu rose an eyebrow pointing to Kuroko next to him.

Suguwa: Uh- Just give me your name!

Kuroko: It's Testuya Kuroko.

Suguwa: I promise, I won't forget you!

Kuroko: ... Thank you.

Ref: 105-78 Serin!

Serin&Seiho: Thank you for the good game!
