"So you're not a werewolf?" Stiles questions with a frown, taking a breath as they walk through the forest. "Wait, wait, hold on, Kali...she mentioned something as she left," he pauses, trying to think back. "Okami, right? That was it, wasn't it?"
Charlie pauses before nodding. "Yeah."
"Okami," he sits on the word, thinking it over. "I've never heard of it before, it's not in the Beastiary is it?"
"I don't know, it depends on which family's Beastiary it is, but if it was Argent's they didn't know a lot, you might have missed it," she states carefully, arms crossed over her chest. Stiles nods a few times. "It's a wolf spirit," Charlie then tacks on, taking a breath. "I was born with it but it didn't really turn up until I was twelve or so."
"Did you have to learn control? Like Scott did?"
"Yeah, I did, my-uh, my adoptive parents helped me, my mother was a banshee so I assume my birth mother gave me to her on purpose, to help," the girl explains as they make their way out of the forest.
"And the whole wolf-transformation thing, that's something you can control?" Stiles gaze flicks to hers, the girl frowning. She shifts a little, uncomfortable with his line of questioning. "Oh come on, I just saw you turn into a freaking wolf, just tell me," Charlie fixes him with a flat look before relenting.
"Okay, not really. It's hard to explain, and complicated," she tacks on, taking a breath.
"Try me," he states as they move into the jeep, the boy letting her borrow some shorts. He had agreed to drive her to the hospital to visit Deaton before going back to pick up Lydia. He starts the car before turning to look at her expectantly.
"The okami, its spirit basically lives inside me, my mind, all the time," she begins, fiddling with the seatbelt slightly. This was probably the longest conversation they'd ever had. "It then basically pushes its way forward if there's danger or someone's intentions are not...the greatest."
"So before, with Derek," Stiles trails off a little as Charlie nods a few times.
"It was to do with him, what he wanted to do to make me heal Boyd," she elaborates, letting out a sigh. "But whatever, it's fine," the girl shrugs before looking out the window as they merge onto the main road to the hospital. That was enough talking for her.
After a few minutes, Stiles pulls into the hospital parking lot, cutting the engine. She sits for a few seconds before unclipping herself from the seatbelt. "Hey, uh, thanks for answering my questions," he states with a slight smile. "And I'm totally gonna do a bunch of research when I get home, I'll email you with more."
Charlie blinks once before letting out a half-laugh. "You don't have my email."
"Oh I do, I got it from the school records," he replies without missing a beat. "You better answer them," Stiles adds on, raising his brows at her.
"Do I have a choice?" She counters with a deadpan look.
"Nope," at his reply, Charlie laughs a little before getting out of the car. Something bubbles up in Stiles' stomach, chest warming a little at her laugh. She had a nice laugh.
"Okay, whatever dude," the okami shakes her head, noting in the back of her mind his change in emotion, she wasn't sure what it was. Charlie pauses for a second before leaning against the open window. "Thanks though, for driving me. And officially not thinking I'm the Darach," she had noticed his change in demeanor since the motel, it was kind of refreshing.
"Yeah, well, you just turned into a wolf in front of me, I think that takes you off the list," Stiles replies, letting out a breath as he stares at her from behind the wheel. The girl then nods before throwing a wave and heading into the hospital. "Idiot," he mumbles to himself before starting the jeep and driving away.

Charlie groans at the sound of her phone ringing, bringing her out of her sleep. With bleary eyes she swipes blindly at her phone, holding it to her ear. It had been a few days since the loft and the failed plan to take out some of the alphas and it was now just another school day. "What?" she states without looking at the ID.
"It's Stiles," the boy's voice echoes through the speaker, the sound of an engine running in the background.
"How did you get my number," she deadpans, groaning a little as she looks at her clock. Three-am. There's a few beats of silence before she lets out a huff. "Whatever, what do you want?"
"I'm outside your house," he replies after a few seconds.
"What? Why?" Charlie runs to the window, opening the curtains to see a blue jeep at the curb of her driveway.
"Lydia found a dead body at the school, just come outside, like right now," Stiles answers after a breath, eyes flicking around the empty street.
"You really wanna see me naked don't you?"
The boy chokes, coughing a little. "You sleep naked?" She drops the call, letting out another groan before shaking her head side to side. Charlie then throws on some jeans and a hoodie, putting on her boots before pocketing her phone and leaving the house. She'd text Deaton if she wasn't home before he woke up. The okami then runs toward the jeep, Stiles looking at her expectantly.
"I don't sleep naked Stiles," she replies blankly, the boy letting out a huff before pulling out onto the street quickly.
"Okay fine," he states, and then they make it to the school in record time. Scott arrives on his bike just as the jeep pulls up, all of them exchanging looks as they try to find Lydia.
"Where is she?" Charlie asks, earning a slight shrug from Scott . They all walk towards the school, spotting a shocked Lydia with Allison by her side at the front of the building.
"Lydia?" Stiles questions the strawberry blonde, causing her to shoot a panicked look at him.
"It's the same thing. Same thing as the pool. I got into the car heading somewhere totally different, and ended up here," she explains after a heavy breath. "And you told me to call if there is a dead body," Lydia trails off.
"You found a dead body?" Stiles breaks in after a beat, blinking a few times.
"Not yet."
"Not yet? What do you mean 'not yet'?" Stiles questions incredulously, letting out a cough. "Lydia you're supposed to call us after you find the dead body."
Charlie zones out a little as her hair stands on end, the girl ignoring the group as she walks forward and around the corner. The okami then stops, glowing eyes now flicking over the school sign and the body that lay on top of it. The area still had a black aura all over it, darkness clinging to the body.
She heads the rest of the group stop behind her, Lydia letting out a gasp. "Charlie found the body this time," the strawberry blonde states.
---
Charlie shakes off the feeling of unease as she walks into school for the second time that morning, blaming it on the sacrifice that had taken place only hours before. Stiles had dropped her home at about four in the morning, the girl going back to sleep for a bit before taking her bike back for the first class. She walks past Sheriff Stilinski talking to some deputies, spotting Stiles eavesdropping from behind a pillar. She moves past the boy, seeing him suddenly flip around and try and hide under his bag as his father catches sight of him. Charlie waits in the middle of the walkway for Stiles to finish being told off by the Sheriff, nodding at him a little.
"Any details about the body?" They walk into the school quickly, the girl raising a brow.
"Nothing, and my dad won't tell me anything," Stiles lets out a huff before shaking his head. "It is so hard to find out details about murder victims, it's like they're trying to make it difficult." They both make it to Scott who was at his locker, the boy repeating what he told Charlie.
"Hey, what class do we have?" Charlie winces slightly, leaning again one of the neighbouring doors.
"How long have you been at Beacon Hills for?" Stiles replies exasperatedly, eyes wide. The okami shrugs, folding her arms across her chest.
"English," Scott answers somewhat cheerfully, causing Charlie to try to run away from the two boys. Stiles, unfortunately, grabs her arm, spotting her trying to escape. He pushes her toward Ms. Blake's class, despite her protests, Scott laughing slightly behind her. She sighs before grabbing a seat next to Lydia. The class gets settled in, waiting for the teacher to start the lesson. Charlie turns to see the strawberry blonde girl sketching in her notebook, her eyes narrowing slightly at the familiarity of the drawing.
"Idioms, analogies, metaphors, and similes. These are all tools a writer uses to tell their story," Ms. Blake begins, walking around the classroom. "Lydia, I wasn't aware you had so many hidden talents," she notices the girl's drawing of a tree with a sharp gaze.
"You and every guy I've ever dated," the girl replies, smiling sarcastically at the teacher. Charlie snorts slightly, covering it up with an off-placed cough to disguise it. The two girls exchange a glance as the women continues on with the lecture.
"Oh, well, that was an idiom, by the way," Ms. Blake replies after a beat. "Idioms are something of a secret to the people who know the language or the culture. They're phrases that only make sense if you know keywords. Saying 'jump the gun' is only meaningful if you know about the starting gun in a race, or the phrase, 'seeing the whole board.'"
"Like chess," Stiles comments, causing Ms. Blake to turn her attention to him.
"That's right Stiles. Do you play?"
"Uh-no, my father does," he replies, fiddling with his pen. She smiles widely in response, turning back to the class.
"Now, when does an idiom become a cliche?" Charlie moves then to rest her head on the desk, already done with the lesson. After a few minutes, she raises her head at the sound of Scott talking to Stiles.
"I think I can get to Ethan. I'm pretty sure I can make him talk," Scott tells his friend from across the gap between the two desks.
"What do you wanna do that for?" Stiles frowns, expression twisting.
"The Druids are emissaries, right? So what if the Darach was an emissary to the Alphas?"
"Ok, first of all, I cannot believe that we've gotten to the point that a sentence like, 'what if the Darach was an emissary to the Alphas?' actually makes sense to me. And second of all, we're going to have a huge problem getting to Ethan," Stiles replies, gaze flicking between Scott and Charlie, who he had noticed had risen her head from the desk to pay attention to the plan.
"What's that?"
"Going through Aiden," Stiles replies after a second, Charlie nodding in agreement.
"Ever since he's been back at school, they've always been together. How are we gonna separate them again?" Stiles adds.
Scott suddenly sits up straighter, causing Charlie to frown at him slightly. He looks at Stiles who raises an eyebrow, both of them suddenly spinning around to look at Lydia who was still drawing in her notebook. She looks up at the two boys staring at her.
"What now?"
---
It takes then a while to find Ethan, planting Lydia has bait to distract Aiden worked like a charm though. "Why are you even talking to me? I helped kill your friend. How do you know I'm not going to kill another one?" Ethan asks, casting a look toward Stiles. Charlie rolls her eyes while the boy suddenly takes a massive step forward, frowning deeply.
"Is he looking at me? Are you threatening me? Do you know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna break off an extra-large branch of Mountain Ash, wrap it in wolfsbane, roll it in mistletoe and shove it up your freakin ass-"
"Woah, woah Stiles, okay. We get it," Scott says as they both push the boy backward slightly away from the alpha werewolf who lets out a huff.
"We're talking to you because I know that you didn't want to kill Boyd. And I think that if something like that happened now, you wouldn't do it again," Scott tries again, a pleading expression on his face.
"You don't know what Aiden and I owe them, especially Deucalion. We weren't like Kali and Ennis when we met him. We weren't Alphas," at this Scott frowns.
"What were you?"
"Omegas. In actual wolf packs, omegas are the scapegoat, the last to eat, the one who has to take the abuse from the rest of the pack," Ethan answers with a sigh, uncomfortable at the line of questioning.
"So, you and your brother were like the bitches of the pack," Stiles baits the werewolf, raising a brow as he smirks slightly.
"Something like that," Ethan stares at Stiles blankly before the okami moves his attention away from the boy.
"What happened?" Charlie questions, drawing his gaze.
"They were killers, I mean, people talk about us as monsters. Well, they were the ones who gave us the reputation, and our Alpha was the worst one them."
"Why didn't you guys just fight back? Form that Voltron Wolf thing, you know? Kick everybody's asses?" Stiles replies with a face-punching motion into the air.
"We couldn't, we didn't know how to control it back then," Ethan insists with a shake of his head.
"So Deucalion taught you," Scott realizes, eyes wide.
"And then we fought. We took down the whole pack one-by-one. And by the time we got to our Alpha he was begging for his life. And we tore him apart, literally" Ethan replies after a breath, head shaking again.
"What about your emissary?"
Ethan shakes his head.
"They're all dead? Kali and Ennis' too?" Charlie adds on with a tilt of her head.
"All of them except for Deucalion's.
"You mean Morell," Scott confirms, and Ethan nods in reply. The werewolf then suddenly gasps in shock, clutching his chest and looking down. "What?" Scott asks. "What's wrong? Are you hurt?"
"Not me, my brother."
Both Charlie and Scott pick up the sound of werewolves growling down the hall, both of them running to the boy's locker room.
She slams her foot into the door, the force causing it to fly open just in time to see Cora being hit over the head with a weight. Her body flies to the side, Charlie gasping a little before running to Aiden who had half shifted and was lifting up the weight again. Her eyes then begin to glow and she easily rips the weight from him, throwing it to the ground. The okami punches him in the face before throwing her leg into his stomach. Suddenly Scott and Ethan appear between them, the werewolf holding Charlie back from going at Aiden again. The girl struggles a little before relenting, glaring at the boy.
"Aiden you can't do this!" Ethan shouts at his brother, who was on the other side of Scott, trying to fight back.
"She came at me!"
"Because you were fighting with Cora you asshole," she grits out, breathing heavily. The okami is then snapped out of her previous preoccupation at Stiles shout, the girl turning around.
"It's Cora." Charlie quickly crouches down where the girl was lying, trying to get up. Her head was bleeding and after a second, the okami presses her near the area. Dark veins then move up her palm as she watches the tissue knit back together, teeth gritted together at the pain.
"It doesn't matter anyway," Ethan's voice breaks into the room as he reasons with his twin. "Kali gave Derek until the next full moon. You can't touch any of them." Aiden then nods in response after a beat, the werewolf allowing himself to be led out of the room.
Cora exhales sharply as the pain fades to a dull ache, the wound to her head closing up. She gives Charlie a thankful look. She wipes the remaining blood off her forehead, the rest of the group standing around her. "You okay?" Charlie asks, looking at her in the mirror, frowning slightly.
"She doesn't look okay," Lydia comments, staring at the werewolf just like the rest were.
Cora rolls her eyes slightly before putting down the cloth, "I'll heal." She takes a step back but sways slightly, causing the whole group to lurch forward to try and stabilize the werewolf.
"I said I'm fine," Cora repeats with a harsh breath, brushing off their concern.
"I thought you healed her?" Scott questions, turning to Charlie with a frown.
"I healed the external wound, it's pretty hard to fix a concussion," she shakes her head a few times before turning back to the werewolf.
"Hey, hey okay, hold on both of you. Do you guys realize how suicidally crazy that was? Are we just going to ignore that?" Stiles questions with a slightly hard edge to his voice before turning to Cora. "What were you thinking going after them?"
"I did it for Boyd," Cora replies harshly, turning quickly to face Scott with a glare. "None of you were doing anything."
"We're trying," Scott reasons, hands outstretched.
"And you're failing! You're just a bunch of stupid teenagers running around, thinking that you can stop people getting killed. But all you do is show up late. All you really do is find the bodies," Cora then walks out of the room to leave the school, the group exchanging a few glances. Charlie shakes her head before following after the girl.
"You could tone it down there a bit Cora," Charlie catches up with the girl, frowning. "They're trying their best."
"No, they're not trying their best," the girl suddenly stops in the hallway, turning around to face her. "Just because you've been accepted into their little pack of misfit supernatural teenagers, doesn't mean you can ignore the fact that they could have saved Boyd. You could have saved Boyd."
"You know it doesn't work like that. Once people are gone, they're gone and that's it," Charlie replies, an edge now in her tone. "And I haven't joined their pack, I'm helping them stop the Darach."
"It doesn't look like that to me, you're all just waiting around for another body to just show up, you're not doing anything."
"What do you suggest then?" Charlie challenges, raising a brow. A cough from behind the two causes them both to turn, Stiles standing awkwardly with his hands shoved in her pockets. "What is it, Stiles?"
The boy pauses before letting out a breath. "Okay, I need you both to do me a favor."
