Laemi : how's the pancakes ?

Mamoru ; so good!! You know Musaki works here right ?

Laemi : so you don't want my pancakes ?

Mamoru: I'm wrong. Please grant me another of your holy pancakes!!

Laemi laughs and puts another piece on his plate.

Mamoru: can you please make me another lasagna ? How can you make food so good ?!!

Laemi : tomorrow night. Also, you need to buy a suit.

Mamoru: why ?

Mamoru and Laemi were walking on the streets together. They were heading to the shopping centre.

Mamoru: do I... Have to wear a suit ?

Laemi: the client is very picky about it.

Just then a big arrow came flying towards the two of them. He activates a barrier and the arrow crashes the barrier breaking into splinters " daijobu ?" He asked her . She blushed a little and pushes away " um... Barrier. "

" Right... " He lets down the barrier " now some people know a bit of my ability."

Laemi : gomen...

" It's ok. I don't want you to get hurt." Then he yells " Laemi !! " Another arrow came her way. He reaches out once again, a bullet hit his arm causing him to shrink his hand back by involuntary response. The arrow goes through Laemi's chest. She starts to fall backwards due to impact.

" Laemi !! " He yelled and goes to her side. He takes out his phone and dials for the ambulance

The ambulance reaches the hospital.

Zaine : ... Mamoru ?

Mamoru: Zaine-san ! Laemi. Save her !!! Please.

Zaine takes a look at the arrow " don't worry. She'll be fine. General! I'll do the operation " And she follows the gurney into the surgery lift. Lifts specially reserved usually for gurneys going to emergency surgeries. He takes the normal smaller life on the other side.

The lift reaches the 3rd floor, General department and the gurney was being pushed straight for the operation room.

Zaine exits the operation room and mamoru goes over " how's she ? " He sees the gurney being pushed pass him .

Zaine : she's ok. She's unconscious for now. She'll wake up in a while . She can leave after if she wants.

Mamoru relieved a breath " which room would she be in ? "

Zaine : hey !!

The nurse stopped " hai ? Zaine-san. "

Zaine: patient Laemi. What room is she being sent to ?

The nurse types into the tablet he was holding " 57D."

Zaine : don't worry. She's fine. Trust me.

Mamoru : arigatou *leaves*

Ione came to Laemi's bed " mamoru. "

Mamoru was sitting in the chair on the side of her bed " Ione-san."

Ione : don't worry. Zaine is an All. She's like your mother. They don't fail usually. Her injury is not serious . She'll be fine. It missed her heart. Just nicked some veins and have a hole through her flesh. No bone damage.

Mamoru: it was a trap. The target was Laemi. Professionals. They knew exactly what my abilities were and how it worked.

Ione : er...no comment.

Mamoru : gomen. Thanks for coming.

Ione : I came cos of you. She and her baby will be fine. Don't worry.

Mamoru: wait... What ?

Ione : ok... I've burst a bubble I shouldn't have... Haha... Leaving now.

In the hospital cafe...

Arina : -_- . . . . . . ^_^ ????? Why is she here ?

Marie : she's here to help you.

Arina : I don't need help. I'm perfectly fine.

Marie: she works with the Yokai Rights organisation. They deal with abuses cases too and help out yokais like you.

Arina : no. I know who she is. She's Jasmine. Hirou's 3rd wife. You are part of a social organisation?

Laemi nods " um. "

Laemi pulls the blankets and covers over her.

Mamoru: my parents named me mamoru because it's a reminder that family protect each other. No matter what happens, we protect each other. I... Want to protect you. But I can tell, everytime I reach out one step closer to you, you step backwards once. You're ok with staying at mine, cooking for me, going shopping together, but not ok with going on a date with me.

Laemi stayed silent .

Mamoru : you love me. Why do you take steps backwards ?

Laemi : .... Because.... I'm unreasonable.

He pulled open the blankets " unreasonably how ?"

Laemi: if we always stayed a fling, you can always have other flings and it wouldn't hurt me. If we got married... I don't allow you to have other flings. I don't allow you to have other wives. Just me. No yokai would accept something like that.

He laughed a little " that's all ?"

Laemi ; it's not easy !! My ex-husband broke his promise . That's why I left him !! I'm... Easily jealous...

Mamoru : have you seen my parents ?

Laemi : what about your parents ?

Kurama: maybe we shouldn't disturb them.

Arina : mmm... I don't want that...

Her phone rings and she picks it up " hello ? Hai ! I'm ok ! Stop calling !! Gomen... Ok... I'm coming. Ugh..."

Kurama : they called you again ?

She pouts " um. I don't care !! You're putting the ointment for me when I get back!! So all the markings will go away. Then they'll not be annoying !!" He kisses her in the hair " hai hai . "

She leaves and mamoru came out of the room. He saw his mother leave " leaving already ?"

Kurama: your aunt jasmine thinks I'm abusing your mother.

Mamoru laughs " the bruises ? "

Kurama: I heard she's ok. Gomen. It might be because of me messing with the Shiori Research.

Mamoru : no. We get enemies like that everyday because I'm an information broker. But those professionals knew how my abilities work. It was a trap.

Kurama: I thought you hid your abilities very well. You plant your seals on objects to create the effect you want so others think that's your ability.

Mamoru stretches his hand out and looks at his bracelet " and that backfired on me. The barrier can only be reused again in 5 seconds after its put down. I should have drawn a seal."

Kurama: you have your own reasons. You didn't know.

Mamoru ; I'll find out. Anyway, Laemi agreed to marry me.

Kurama : that's great ! All my kids getting married. Your mother would be happy. Omedeto on your new coming baby too.

Mamoru : can't keep secrets in your hospital huh.

Kurama: Zaine is good friends with me. I feel kind of a bit old. My kids are like all grown up.

Mamoru : there's aiko who unmarried.

Kurama : ^_^ that one... Leave up to fate...
