The Jade and Dragon Scroll
Your p.o.v
My paws were starting to get tired from running. It seems like Master Fang had made me run two mountains. Even though I can believe it, I just can't explain the soreness in my paws. Stopping by a small stream I drank some water and regained some stamina. Feeling my stomach growl I ate some grass (I heard that it helps dogs with stomach pain) to help soften my hunger.
When I was done with my 'snack' I continued my run towards the Jade Palace. Soon enough it came into view. Running faster I could see Po and Master Shifu entering through the training gate. My (f/c) tail wagged happily as I neared. As I reached the gate I gave off a regular bark. Po turned around and smiled widely.
"(Y/N)!" I smile and ran at him. When I was close enough I leaped into his arms hugging him.
Po blushed softly and hugged back. I gently nuzzled his cheek giggling. "I finally finished my training. How did yours go." Po chuckled and held me up smiling. "Trust me. My training was awesome! I trained while trying to eat! We even fought over a dumpling to finish it!" My (f/c) tail wagged softly as I laughed. "That sounds cool! I had to learn how to use my voice to fight. And I learned that you can dance while fighting!"
Po smiled and put me down. "Woah really!!" I nodded smiling and sat down. "Yeah!" My ears twitched as Shifu chuckled softly. "Oh Master Fang. She loves teaching others the art of dance fighting." Shifu rubbed his beard lightly as he talked. I tilted my head softly, "She does?" Shifu nodded and smiled lightly. "Yes. She would travel from village to village and teach young children this art as a form of defense against bandits."
"Cool." Shifu nodded slightly and started walking. Po and I did the same following him. As we walked Shifu spoke to Po, "And you have done well Panda." Po smiled and looked at him. "Done well? Done well?? Huh...I've done AWESOME!" As Po spoke he accidentally hit his stomach against Shifu. I snickered softly at the look of disgust on his face before it changed.
"The mark of a true hero is...Humility. But yes, you have done..." My ears pricked when Shifu punched Po's stomach. "...awesome." I joined in with Po's laugh as Shifu chuckled pointing a finger at him. As we walked my ears pricked hearing the faints sounds of heavy wing beat. Turning around I gasped seeing Crane carrying a paralyzed looking Mantis, Monkey, Viper, and Tigress.
My gasp caught Shifu's and Po's attention. They looked up and was shocked as Crane crashed down in front of us panting heavily. Po's eyes widened, "Huh?" I looked at Crane as he sat up. Po went over to them and started freaking out. I followed behind him worried for them and for once....worried for Tigress.
I looked at Crane as he spoke, "We were no match for his nerve attack." Shifu walked to Mantis and did something to him waking him up. "He has gotten stronger." I tilted my head as he did the same to Monkey. Po and I looked at him, "Tai Lung-Stronger?" I winced as Monkey accidentally punched Po across the face.
I followed Shifu to Tigress and looked down at her worriedly. As he did his 'magic' on her she woke up with a gasp. "I thought we could stop him." Shifu looked at her as he walked to Viper, "He could have killed you." Looking away from Shifu I helped Tigress to stand. To my surprise she didn't pull herself away nor push me. Instead she leaned onto me with pain in her eyes.
She looked down, "Why do you treat me with such kindness....after the way I treated you?" My (f/c) ears pricked as I looked at her. "Everyone deserves a second chance. Even if they seem mean at first." Tigress chuckled lightly and looked at me. "I guess your right." I then felt myself get pulled back to Po. I blushed softly as Po pet my head, something he did when he was nervous.
Shifu aimed a hand at us. "You can defeat him Panda and Wolf." Po started to stumble on his words. "U-Us? H-How? They are five masters. And I'm just one me." I nodded at his last sentence. "But you both will have the only things that no one else does." My ears twitched softly as I tilted my head. Shifu motioned for us to follow.
As Po let go if me I looked at him with a tilted head. He shrugged and followed Shifu. As I walked next to him the others walked behind us into the Jade Palace. When we entered Shifu stopped and motioned to the Jade and Dragon scrolls. Po's eyes widen as we looked up at the two scrolls. He looked at Shifu with joy evident in his eyes. "You..You believe we're ready?"
Shifu immediately turned and looked at Po. "You are....Po." I sat down and kept looking up at my future scroll. Feeling a paw on my shoulder I turned my head to see Fang smiling at me. My eyes widened and I got up and bowed slightly. "Greetings Master Fang." She only chuckled and stood me up straight.
"There's no need for introductions (y/n). I'm here because I believe your ready for the Jade scroll." My tail wagged softly as I stood straight. "Really?" Fang nodded smiling. "I believe your more than ready (y/n)." I smiled happily and stood up doing a small spin, "Yes!" Fang chuckled softly and stood up stretching her wings.
I watched as Fang walked over to the pool and sat. Po watched Shifu as he grabbed Oogway's staff. As he made his way to the pool Fang stood up and stretched her wings. They both nodded and looked up at the golden and jade dragon. I watched as Shifu started spinning the staff, while Fang ran around the pool.
The petals started to move. As Fang ran she batted her wings making winds lift the petals slowly. Soon enough Fang flew in circles around the pool lifting the petals higher in a tornado pattern. Once there were two petals left she closed her wings and landed across from Shifu.
The petals landed on the ends of both the scrolls. Shifu readied the staff while Fang opened her wings as the scrolls slowly moved. The jade scroll fell first. As it did Fang leaped across the pool catching it in her tail. Then came the dragon scroll as it fell. Shifu had caught it with the staff and ended up barely touching the water, sending one ripple through it.
His ears pricked as he lowered his foot standing steadily. He pulled the staff to him and gently gripped the dragon scroll. Fang stood on her feet and held the jade scroll. Po and I had a look of amazement as we stepped towards them.
Shifu turned around and held the scroll to Po. "Behold...the dragon scroll. It is yours." Po was about to reach for it but stopped himself. "Wait...what happens when I read it?" I then felt a tap on my forehead and looked to see Fang holding the jade scroll towards me. My (f/c) ears perked looking at it and hesitantly held it.
Fang smiled at me as her black tail swayed behind her. "Once you have read this you will have profilled a prophecy of becoming the Jade warrior. You must not let anyone else read this." I nodded and opened it pulling it from the case. Cautiously I pulled open the scroll to see a jade background on it (like the gold in the dragon scroll). On the background was gold words.
The words read, "The seat of knowledge is in the head, of wisdom, in the heart." I tilted my head not getting it and started thinking of what it meant. As I thought I jumped slightly in surprise as Po started yelling in fear. My ears pinned back as I looked at him worriedly as he looked at the dragon scroll.
"It's blank." My (e/c) orbs widened at his words. That can't be! Shifu looked at him shocked. "What?!" Po took a few steps towards him holding the scroll out, "Here loo-" "No! I am forbidden to-..." Shifu then grabbed the scroll and re-opened it a few times turning away.
Fang walked over but didn't look into the scroll. Shifu then held the scroll down keeping it opened as he turned back to us. "Blank....I do-...I don't understand." Po sighed and raised his arms in exaggeration, "Ok...so like...Oogway...was really just a crazy old turtle after all." Fang bared her canines as her tail twitched, "No. He was wiser than us all."
Po groaned and rolled his eyes before sitting down, "Oh come on. Face it he picked me by accident. Of coarse I'm not the dragon warrior. Who am I kidding?" I looked at Po in sympathy and sat down next to him, leaning softly against his form. Po looked at me and gently rubbed my head for comfort.
As Shifu looked into the pool of water Tigress said worriedly, "But who will stop Tai Lung?" Crane then piped in looking at her, "He'll destroy everything." Monkey lowered his head, "Everyone..." Shifu then walked over to us and handed Po the dragon scroll, "Evacuate the valley...you must protect the villagers, from Tai Lungs rage."
Tigress stood up next to me and looked at Shifu, "But what about you master?" Shifu looked away, "I'll fight him..." Po and I looked at him shocked, "What?" Shifu turned his head slightly to us, "I can hold him off long enough for everyone to escape." Po said with a saddened voice, "But Shifu...he'll kill you."
Shifu faced us with a small smile, "Then I'll finally have paid for my mistake." A look of shock spread across our faces. Fang stood and walked over next to Shifu, "And I'll help you fight." Shifu gave a small nod to her then faced us again, "Listen to me all of you. It is time for you to continue your journey without me. I am very proud to have been your master."
He then put a fist to his hand and did a small bow to them as a sign of gratitude. Fang did the same and bowed facing us. The five, Po, and I did the same towards them before they turned away. Everyone started walking almost leaving Po and I standing there. Crane came over and gently pulled Po to the doors.
I looked up as Tigress had gently started nudging me towards the doors also. When we had finally made it to the bottom steps of the mountain everything seemed to be in chaos. The villagers were running around trying to pack as many things as they could together. While lookign at everything I hadn't realized that the others were already splitting up and helping them.
Po and I walked towards Mr. Pings noodle shop. As we walked Po had his head down while my tail dragged against the ground. Before entering I could hear a voice say sarcastically, "Hey look....it's the dragon and jade warrior." I turned towards them and growled before walking inside with Po.
We both walked up to Mr.Ping holding the scrolls as he finished up his noodle cart. Po fiddled with the scroll before letting his arms hang loose, "Hello dad/hello Mr. Ping..." (The second is your response.) Mr. Ping perked up and turned around in shock, "Po! (Y/n)!" He then ran up to us and hugged Po snealily putting an apron on him.
He then hugged me and wrapped a smaller apron on me. "It's good to have you both back." He then walked over to his cart as Po and I said, "Good to be back.../Yeah..." Lifting the front handle of the cart he said, "Let's go." I trotted over and stood in between him and the cart as he put a harness on me.
(That's the harness.)
When the harness was finished being put on I started walking pulling the cart behind me. "Now for our next shop it's time to face it. The future of noodles is diced cut vegetables..-" As he walked ahead of us Po walked next to me incase I needed help. My tail swayed softly behind me as I pulled the cart behind me.
"-..no longer slices. Also I was thinking that this time we can have a kitchen where you can actually stand up in." As he continued walking Po and I had slowly stopped walking. Po had a forlorn look on his face while I just sat there looking back at him sadly. When Mr. Ping turned to look at us he stopped walking, "Hmm? You like that?"
Neither Po or I answered him. The villagers continued walking past us holding lanterns. My ears pricked hearing Mr. Ping walk back towards us. "Look Po and (y/n). I'm sorry things didn't work out. It just....wasn't meant to be." Po frowned at his words and leaned against the cart. By now everyone around us was already ahead.
Mr. Ping thought then tried to cheer us up, "Heey forget about the paaast. Your destiny still awaits. We are noodle folk. Broth runs deep through our veins." Po looked away as he looked down, "I don't know dad...sometimes I can't actually believe I'm your son..." My ears perked as I looked at Po then to Mr. Ping.
The first thing I noticed was a slightly shock look in his eyes. "Ah..Po...(y/n)...I think it's time I should tell you something that I should've told you a long time ago." Looking over at Po I could see that he perked up a little, "Oh..ok.." Mr. Ping squinted his eyes softly then looked around, "The secret ingredient of my secret ingredient soup."
Po and mines eyes looked at him with interest, "Oh..." Mr. Ping motioned for us to come closer, "Come here...the secret ingredient is......nothing." A wave of shock spread through me at his words. I sat down with a tilted head and blocked out their words so I could think. Not long after I looked over at Po to see him in a dazed look.
I looked at the scroll and then back up at him as he said, "There is no secret ingredient...." Po then looked at me with a small smile then turned towards the Jade palace. I got out of the harness and then stood next to him looking at the Jade palace also. I looked at him in curiosity, "What are you thinking?"
Po looked at me smiling, "I knoe what the scroll means. We need to get up to the palace now." I nodded, "Ok then. Lets go." And with that we went towards the steps of the mountain.
