My work isn't about form.
It's about seeing.

I gently tugged on the black tie wrapped around my neck as I pulled the black suit jacket over my shoulders. I told her I wouldn't attend— that it would not feel right because I didn't know him very well.
But I knew about him more than she did. I could tell he would ruin her, distract her, and take her from me. So I did what a good friend would do, I reoved him from our life.
I stood in the bathroom while staring in the mirror. I reached for the small bottle of cologne beside me as I tilted the bottle the fragrance covered my fingers. Quickly pressing my hand to both sides of nead wrist to freshen up.
I was excited to see Emona, but I wasn't ready to see her cry for him. I was aware of how much time she would need and I was willing to be there with her through every step, but seeing tears wet her brown cheeks wasn't what I wished for.
I grabbed my keys as I harshly shoved them into my suit pocket and exited my apartment. The sky was scattered with stretched white clouds covering up its blue hue and hinting at rain. I squinted at the scenery admiring how nature uses its canvas.
The wake was a few blocks away from my home and a while away from where Emona lives. I decided to avoid taking the bus and make my way by foot. The air was cool and I desired the refreshing breeze before I entered the agonizing building the service was held.
Walking towards the building my hand grasped the handle turning it slightly to be enveloped in the quiet space. Hesitantly I stepped in distant voices could be heard until someone close by caught my attention.
"Hello sir, may I help you ?" An older woman asked. Her blonde hair cut right below her shoulders in a straight style draped along her dark clothing.
"I'm here to see Em- " I started "I'm here for Park Jimins service" I corrected myself.
She smiled slightly as her hand quickly held out a white pamphlet. "It's straight ahead" she spoke.
I retrieved the pamphlet as I held it between my hands. They had his photo placed in the center below 'in loving memory'. My lip rose towards a smirk until I heard her soft voice.
"Taehyung?" She questioned, her jaw dropping ever so slightly and her doe eyes widening. She paced towards me as her heels clacked against the white tile. Black pumps matching her black body-con dress as a large scarf was wrapped around her bare shoulders.
"I can't believe you came?" she questioned her arms wrapping around my torso.
"Yeah he came late." A sour voice spoke in a distance. I looked up as Emona released her hold from me glancing at Aniya standing next to Namjoon.
"Aniya, there's at least 20 minutes left come on." Emona begged.
With her arms folded and a challenging look upon her face she walked towards me slowly. "What changed your mind about coming Taehyung?"
"I came to support Emona." I spoke truthfully .
She then glanced between her and I and shrugged her shoulders.
"She could've used that support an hour ago, now we're leaving" she scowled "Namjoon let's go."
Emona looked at me with sorrow filled eyes. "Thank you Taehyung... I appreciate it."
"Of course... anything for you." I whispered as I placed my hands along her small torso.
"Emona let's go!" Aniya demanded making Emona drift from my embrace.
I growled as I crumpled the pamphlet in my hands. Why would Aniya dare try to embarrass me? Why would she challenge my loyalty to Emona? I've been here all along when she led the person that hurt her the most into her life.
Turning on my heel I paced towards the exit smiling at the woman as I walked by my hand dropping the crumpled paper into the trash.
