Chapter 49
Luke's POV
The Giant crumbled back to dust and behind him stood Percy, and I could see the smirk even with the mask on, "Miss me?"
"Thalia," I forced out, "She's dying, can you help her?"
He examined the wound and immediately jumped into action, He summoned water from a nearby stream and covered Thalia with it. I worried she might drown, but he seemed to know what he was doing.
After what felt like forever, he sent the water away and helped Thalia sit up. She was breathing and the wound was gone.
"Thalia!" I said as I hugged her.
"Just kiss me already you idiot," She said, still looking a little pale from almost dying.
For once I didn't argue, I kissed her and held her close.
Percy's POV
Well that got awkward quick I thought to myself. It hadn't taken much effort to heal Thalia, but it was taking some effort to not puke at the two kissing.
I decided it would be best to just give them some space, I had a Giant to kill after all.
Porphyrion hadn't seemed to notice my betrayal, he was still pushing towards the center of camp. I had Knocked out a majority of the soldiers, an unfortunate necessity. Porphyrion had to believe I was on his side and killing the soldiers was a part of that, or fake killing.
I knelt down beside the one closest to me, Jason. I touched his head and willed him to wake up. I slowly made my way toward Porphyrion, waking all the soldiers I could, but warning them to stay down until I signaled.
"Porphyrion," I called out as I got closer, "The soldiers have all been dealt with, they won't be a problem."
"Ahh, Órkos, well done, though you were not quick enough. My brethren have fallen, we shall have to raise them again after we raise our mother. And this Demigod will do greatly, he is the one who helped take out the Titans is he not? He is quite powerful for such a young thing."
He was holding Jessie. He held him in his hand, not tight enough to crush him, just enough to trap him. He was glaring at me. I guess seeing your brother beating up your new friends doesn't make for a happy reunion.
I didn't even think about it, I lunged and slashed off his hand.
Porphyrion screamed in pain, "How dare you! We gave you a second chance, and you betray us, over a boy you wanted nothing to do with!"
Jessie managed to wriggle out of the separated hand and pull his sword out. Jumping up, using a wave from the stream, he stabbed Porphyrion in the neck. When had he gotten so powerful? I certainly hadn't taught him that.
The Giant king had only a moment to curse us before he too followed his sibling back into the dust.
"NOW!" I shouted, hoping the soldiers would understand.
They jumped up and started destroying all the monsters close to them. The army quickly fell apart. Without their leader they fell into chaos, and those who weren't killed ran away. Two minutes later the battlefield was empty of everyone but demigods and their allies.
I allowed myself a moment to enjoy the victory as I surveyed the battlefield. Then a few feet away I saw Jessie crumple, an arrow through his shoulder.
