Chapter 4

Thalia's POV

I looked at Percy's still body. After he had stabbed himself, I had picked him up and raced him to the infirmary. I was too late. Will had all his siblings helping him, Apollo even came and tried, something about a debt to Poseidon, but he was gone.

"Thalia," Artemis gently called me. Reluctantly I got up and left with her.

"When do you wish for us to leave, milady?" I asked on the way to our cabin.

She hesitated before answering," I think it might be best that you girls stay here for a while."

I looked at her in wonder. She didn't like us spending time here, same with the girls, too many boys around.

Noticing my look of shock, she explained," Kronos is rising again. I need to help the gods and you girls are needed here. Don't mention it to the campers yet. It may be a false alarm."

"When are you leaving?" I asked as we walked up the steps to the cabin.

"Right now," She answered as she disappeared.

Percy's POV

Did the Fates really hate me this much? I had hoped never to end up in Tartarus again. Yet even though I'm dead the fates still want to torture me.

"Percy Jackson, at last, I will destroy you," A voice as cold as ice said as it approached me.

I turned around and saw Kronos. Yep, the Fates really did hate me. I tried to pretend that I hadn't ruined his plans for taking over the world. Waving, I greeted him," Hey buddy, long time no see!"

"I heard what you did after the setback of my invasion," He snarled getting closer.

"Setback? I defeated you!" I shouted at him remembering the lives lost in the battle. No more playing Mr. Nice Guy, I wanted to kill something, and this guy was at the top of the list.

"You merely delayed the inevitable. The Gods will be destroyed, and I will reign! Surely even your seaweed brain must realize that the Gods are not to be trusted. Look at what they did to that sweet friend of yours, Annie Bell was it?" Kronos asked with a wicked smile.

I reached for my sword, but it wasn't there. Instead, I grabbed the closest thing I could find, a bone, a very disgusting bone, and struck him. My anger at him was so great I didn't care that my hands were touching something so disgusting or that I would be dead soon. I had only angered Kronos not stopped him.

"You killed her! You killed her!" I screamed. I screamed so hard my voice disappeared after only a couple minutes. I still shouted at him.

"No, I didn't, but I almost wish I had," He said in disgust as he flicked me off him.

"KRONOS, do not hurt our guest," someone called out from somewhere and everywhere at the same time.

Sulking he put away his weapon that had almost touched my skull," Fine, mother,"

Mother? Ohh, Gaia, wait Gaia, not her again! She seriously creeped me out last time.

"How is our guest doing?" She asked as she stepped out of the air. She had greenish brown skin, was wearing a blue green dress, and still managed to look like porta potty sludge.

"Guest?" I asked," You aren't going to kill me?"

Gaia sighed as she sat down on a chair that had appeared," We don't like you and yes, we would love to kill you. Unfortunately, we need your help."

"Just why would I help you?" I snarled. These two were making me mad. They reminded me of happier times. When Annabeth and I were kicking their buts and saving the world every summer. Usually with awful prophecies predicting that at least one of us was going to die, ah, the good times.

"Can I kill him now mother?" Kronos whined like a little kid.

Gaia ignored him," Why would you want to see the Gods win? What have they done for you?"

"They didn't kill my friends for one," I barked back. There was no way I was going to help them.

"We didn't kill your girlfriend, they did. Don't you want revenge Percy? Don't you want them to realize that they made the worst decision?" Gaia calmly explained.

"And why should I trust you?" I shouted trying to keep back the tears. If only I had Riptide, then I could- what? I'd already tried to reunite with my wise girl and that didn't work, so what could I do now?

Gaia waved her hands and an image appeared. Ares, talking to a kid, Eric. Ares was telling Eric to make my life miserable, killing Annabeth if necessary. The image faded away and Gaia looked at me waiting for an answer.

"No, I will never help you," I replied with a glare, and was glad that my voice did not tremble.

"Stubborn aren't you," Kronos laughed running his fingers over his blade.

"When we win, I'm sure something can be done about Annabeth. Perhaps you can become the new King of the Underworld and she can be your Queen," Gaia suggested.

There was no way I would become King of the Underworld, but I started to think of this suggestion. Something in me had changed. The Gods have messed with my life so many times, what did I owe them? But I still didn't want to help these monsters. From now on I decided I will only be on my side.

"No, I will help you, but you have to give me Annabeth and make me King of the Sea when you win. Deal or No Deal?" I asked. Getting Annabeth back is the first thing on my agenda. Whatever it takes, as long as it benefits me.

Gaia smiled," Deal, I swear on the River Styx. When we win you will have your girlfriend and your ocean kingdom."

"One more thing," I said before Gaia could leave," I disown Poseidon, he is not my father anymore, I have no father. Also, my name is no longer Percy, call me όρκος, because I vow to make them suffer for turning their backs on me and killing my Wise Girl." Gaia smiled, "Very well, Órkos."
