Chapter 32
Luke's POV
"What do you mean she's gone!" I shouted.
"What I said! Annabeth's gone. She didn't tell anyone where she was going." Thalia answered.
"She will be okay Luke. This is Annabeth we're talking about," Selena tried to calm me down.
I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something happened to her. I had told Chaos to bring her back, and now she was in danger. Someone had defeated the Titans, if he found Annabeth. Annabeth was strong, but even the most powerful can get tired sometimes. What if Percy found her? He would protect her, wouldn't he? He would protect her with his life, at least the old Percy would. Had Percy changed too much? Is he so far gone that he would hurt her?
My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door.
"Who is it?" Thalia called.
"Grover, and a friend."
I grabbed my mask from the table beside me and motioned for the others to put theirs on. Selena left to go warn everyone about the visitors.
When Thalia had her mask on, I opened the door to find Grover holding the new kid's arms behind his back, Jessie I think was his name.
"Luke, I need your help," Grover forced out. He looked very nervous.
"What are you doing?" I asked as Grover pulled Jessie in.
"Kidnapping me, that's what he is doing," Jessie answered me.
"Why are you kidnapping someone Grover?" Thalia asked, crossing her arms.
"It's a long story, but I need you to keep him here. Just for a little bit, hopefully."
"Keep him here?" Thalia and I shouted at the same time.
"Before we can even consider you need to tell us what's going on," I demanded.
Grover seemed to be debating for a while, but Jessie wasn't worried. He answered me almost immediately "We met your boss Chaos; he wants us to keep top secret information from the campers."
Grover punched him.
"What?" He asked when he saw us staring at him.
"As you can see," He explained," he can't keep his mouth shut."
"What does Chaos want you to keep secret?" Thalia asked.
"I can't tell you, I'm sorry. But we also can't let Jessie tell Chiron. So, are you in?"
Thalia and I shared a look. If Chaos had said to do it, he probably had a good reason.
"We're in," We said in unison.
Annabeth's POV
"Who are you?" I asked, thankfully without my voice shaking.
"I have many names, who are you?" A man's voice answered, and voice that sounded very familiar, almost as if I had heard in a dream once.
"Architect," I answered, as far as anyone in this world knew, I was dead.
I felt the blade push a little harder, "Now that's an interesting name, would you care to tell me your real name? Or should I press a little harder?"
"What does it matter?" I asked. Who was he? Why did my name matter?
"Fine, Cinderella, if you refuse to tell me your name, perhaps I shall have to unmask you."
I didn't fight as he pulled my mask off.
"Annabeth Chase?" He asked, the shock obvious in his voice.
"Yeah, what about it?" I asked, trying to sound brave. Who was he? Was he the Titan I was looking for? Or an old demigod. If he was an old demigod, he would let me go, so he had to be the Titan.
"What were you doing here?" He demanded.
I decided to tell the truth, "I ended up here while I was looking for someone."
"Who?"
"Some of my friends said they saw my old boyfriend, Percy Jackson, but I don't believe them. I think a Titan was impersonating him. I decided to look for him."
"You don't believe that your boyfriend is alive?" The man asked.
"No, and I also believe that he would never fight against the gods. He always fought for them, he would never help the likes of you," I snarled.
"The likes of me?" He asked.
I didn't bother answering, instead I elbowed him in the stomach and stepped on his foot, taking him by surprise. I knocked his sword away as I turned around and pulled out my dagger. I stopped short when I saw who it was. The man in gold, the Titan who had impersonated Percy.
