Chapter 31

Chaos's POV

I slowly stepped out from behind the tree. The two boys stared at me in silence before I broke the spell.

"I'd appreciate it if you forgot what you learned today Jessie."

"Why?" He managed to squeak.

"Because it is not time for the demigods to know about him yet. As far as they are concerned, Percy Jackson died 12 years ago. The man in Gold, and the man in the mask, or Glitter as you call him, are different people."

"Who are you?" He demanded," Are you a Titan?"

"No," I laughed.

"Then why do you want us to not tell the campers about Percy?" Grover asked. I could tell he wanted to protect his best friend, but also wanted to tell his other friends, my soldiers.

"Because it is better this way," That was all I could say. It was too risky to tell them; they could still prevent it.

"Who are you!" Jessie demanded again.

"I am Chaos, and neither of you are to mention meeting me here, unless I change my mind."

"I thought you were trying to help us win! Your soldiers are here to help us fight!" Jessie argued.

"Now I see why he was so eager to get rid of you,' I couldn't stop myself from saying.

"What?" Jessie asked.

"Your friend, he didn't want you with him," I decided to tell him," but I wouldn't take you, I thought you two could enjoy some sibling bonding time."

"It's true then?" Grover cut in.

"Yes, sorry I can't claim you as Poseidon's kid, but maybe someday he will do it himself."

After that I teleported myself back to my palace. I had revealed enough to them. Hopefully they wouldn't mess up my plan.

Annabeth's POV

I hadn't known where to start. Where would a Titan hide? The only place I could think of was Mount Othrys, but that was probably wear the mystery man, Glitter had gone. Unless the Titan had managed to escape, he was probably in Tartarus now. And even if I did find him, how would I know that he was the one who impersonated Percy?

This trip was starting to seem pointless. I should have talked to someone before I left. Why hadn't I asked Thalia to come? She might have been able to help, or she might have talked me out of this in the first place.

I kept going, not paying attention to where I was going. Before I knew it, I was at Percy's old apartment. It looked normal, or whatever passed for normal in this world. Everything seemed to be falling into ruin.

I was startled out of my thoughts by the sound of a bush rustling. Thinking it was just an animal, I didn't pay much attention to it, until I felt something sharp being pressed to my throat.

Grover's POV

After Chaos left Jessie started running towards camp. I was tempted to let him go while I got my enchiladas, but I knew he wasn't running to get food. He was going to tell the campers about Percy.

Before I could think too much about it, I started running, taking a short cut. I finally got ahead of him and hid behind a bush. As he ran by, I managed to tackle him.

"Get off me!" He screamed as he tried to push me off.

"I can't let you tell Chiron," I explained, dodging his fist.

"Are you on his side now? He wants to destroy the world, but you want to protect him!"

"If you tell Chiron, or anyone, you'll only make Chaos mad. Are you sure you want to do that? You ready to deal with the anger of a primordial?" I asked him.

"What?" Jessie stopped hitting me," What do you mean?"

"He existed before creation, he's even more powerful than the Gods. You don't want to make him angry."

"Fine," Jessie gave in.

I still wasn't sure I could trust him, but I let him get up. He didn't take off though, which I decided to take as a good sign.

I decided that the best option would be to ask for help. So much for my enchiladas.
