Chapter 25
Jessie's POV
When I arrived at the big house, a crowd had gathered around a ping pong table. Several kids were gathered around the table, along with two masked figures. I wondered who they were, they obviously weren't local.
"Ahh, Jessie, nice of you to make it," The horse guy said from the head of the table. What was it Will had called him? Charon, Chariot, Camera? I forgot.
"Will said you wanted to hear what happened?" I asked him.
"Yes, tell us everything you remember from the moment you met him. Then we will go from there."
"First one question, who are you guys?" I asked, directing the question to mysterious figures.
"We are the soldiers of Chaos, I'm am Co-Comander Archí, and this is one of my servants, Architect." At the last comment the person behind him jabbed his elbow into Archí's side. I assumed that Architect didn't appreciate being called servant.
"Was Glitter one of you?" I asked before I really thought about it. Several people around the table started laughing at the mention of the name.
"What makes you say that?" A feminine voice asked, I realized it was Architect.
"He wore a cloak, and a mask a lot. I wondered if he was one of you," I explained.
Something about what I said caught Archí attention. Something about his form changed. Before he was only a little interested, now I could tell he was giving me his full undivided attention.
"Did he wear a golden cape?" Archí asked me.
One girl around the table gasped," You don't think he was the one who murdered Leo?"
I hoped not, that would definitely not help me convince them that Glitter was good.
"I don't think so, or else why would he take down the ones he had help put into power?" Will spoke up. The girl seemed to relax a little.
"Enough speculation, Jessie, please tell us your story," Cereal, or whatever his name was, turned the conversation back to me.
"Well, my name is Jessie," I started not really sure how to tell it. I decided to just say whatever I remembered as it happened.
"Until a few months ago I was living with my mom in South Carolina. One day we were taking a walk when a monster appeared from nowhere, it attacked my mom." I blinked back the tears in my eyes and tried to continue with my story, "Then it started for me. I ran as fast as I could. A cloaked figure appeared and helped me find this camp. When we were close enough, he started to fight off the monsters, more of them had started to chase us, while I ran up the hill to the camp. No one was trying to help him, so I grabbed someone's sword and ran down to help him. One of the monsters got me, with their teeth or claws I don't know."
I stopped as someone exclaimed," So you're that one boy! I'm glad you survived, I thought for sure you were dead!"
The voice came from one of the campers, I think. She had such mesmerizing eyes, though the knife she was playing with was a little distracting too.
I looked away and continued my story without replying to her," Glitter brought me back to his camp with him, he healed me. He refused to tell me his name so I called him Glitter, hoping it would annoy him. He started to train me and tell me about the mythological world. He would sometimes lose the cloak, but he never took of the mask, even when we attacked Mount Othrys. He managed to get me an invisibility cloak, like from Harry Potter, and teleported us to Mount Othrys. Before that I hadn't fully realized how powerful he was. The Titans were scared of him, and Glitter was radiating power," I filled them in on what I could remember of the attack, stopping at the fight between Glitter and the Gym Titan.
"Well, what happened next?" Someone asked, I didn't see who spoke.
"I don't know, next thing I remember I was waking up in the woods and met Will and Mandy. I've been remembering little bits of what happened since then but nothing more for a few days when I remember Glitter fighting the only Titan left."
"Fine, if you remember anything else tell me immediately, you may go," Horse guy dismissed me. I really needed to learn his name.
I walked out of the room, hearing some murmuring as I closed the door behind me. I hoped they wouldn't think Glitter was evil, something had surely happened. Maybe he had lost his memories like I did. Glitter wasn't evil, and I needed to prove it. I just didn't have a clue about how I was going to do it.
