Ten years later

Jessie's POV

The monsters were right behind us, they would surely catch us soon. I risked a glance back and immediately wished I hadn't. They were huge and hideous and were gaining fast.

"Run faster, just get over that hill!" my escort called out as he fell back.

I barely gave him a second thought before running even faster than I ever had in my life. I made it to the hill and looked back. The man had gotten a sword from somewhere and was battling the monster. He might have stood a chance, if not for the others rapidly approaching.

"What's going on? How did you find this place?" A girl roughly demanded as she held a dagger up to my throat.

"A man, he's down there," I said pointing down to where he was fighting all the monsters now. Frantically I looked around and asked" Can't someone help him? He can't survive that many monsters!"

"Hey, Calypso, I'll get the popcorn, you get the campers. Tell them it's Blue Mask again!" One of the guys in the crowd called out.

Everyone went to watch the battle going on below them instead of helping him. When no one was looking, I grabbed a sword from someone and ran down the hill. One of the monsters saw me coming and ran towards me. I held up the sword to defend myself, but too late remembered that I didn't know how to use it. I saw a glimpse of the boy's face, his hood had fallen off in the fight, he was angry at me. I heard him start to yell something, but the world went black before he could finish.
