9. The Melodious Dream
Maharajapita Adhiraj gave the newly born Rajkumari to the kulguru, Rajguru Raghvendra.
He took the little divine child in his arms and felt the celestial touch of her tiny hands, which clasped his thumb.
His entire being was consumed with utter contendedness, it felt as if he had achieved Moksha .
A gorgeous woman flashed in his mind, adorned with the most magnificent gold jewelry and gems, draped in a red silk saree, The Goddess of beauty, wealth, and prosperity with her husband, The Sanchalak.
The baby in his arms giggled and waved her hands. His head bowed without thinking, in reverence for Jagatkalyani. He subtlety maneuvered her in his arms so that her lotus feet could touch his forehead
As he saw her smile, he lifted her legs and pressed them on his forehead, feeling a wave of happiness and prosperity wash over him.
Dhanya hogaya mata,
main dhaya ho gaya!! Aapke Ashish pakar mani sansaar ke saar sukh mil gaye ho.
[Blessed be mother, I am relieved !!!! After receiving your blessings , I have got all the happiness in the world]
He didn't know the reason for her birth but he realized, Mata Lakshmi and Lord Narayan had taken birth on earth. No one can understand the leelas of such divine beings. But he was utterly grateful to be a tiny part of that Leela.
Carefully cradling the little goddess, he announced,
" The first Rajkumari of the empire shall have a great many names,
Kripalini, for she is the Pratham Kripalkumari.
Shraddha, for she spread sincerity and bestows serenity with her calmness
Surabhi, for she more beautiful than the perennial spring
Suprasanna, for she is ever cheerful and one look at her smile vanishes all sorrows
And last but of most significance, she will bring prosperity to everyone around her, {being the shree of none other than the Supreme Lord of the Universe,}in his mind,
I, Rajguru Raghvendra, give her with the name DEVASHREE
The infant Rajkumari erupted in innocent joyous cackle hearing her name which echoed in the hearts around her, dousing them in euphoria.
Maharajapitah took his bubbly granddaughter in his arms and proceeded towards the royal balcony from where the entire city was easily visible.
The Maharaj followed behind supporting the weakened Maharani, a proud glint in his eyes. Yuvraj Dharmendra was at his mother's side, beaming ear to ear.
Thousands and thousands of people had crowded around the palace to catch a glimpse of their Rajkumari.
Maharajapitah held her high in his arms and announced,
" Today, I stand before you with immense happiness and pride, as I announce the arrival of a new member to our royal family. A radiant princess has been bestowed upon us, blessed with the grace and beauty of our beloved land. Let the noblest of celebrations and festivities commence as we celebrate this momentous occasion. May joy be contagious, embracing every soul, from the humblest peasant to the mightiest warrior.
So, I invite you all to join me in extending heartfelt blessings and warm wishes to the newest member of our royal family. Celebrate and accept her as your own, the Princess of Mahasamrajra Kripalakshaya, Rajkumari Devashree!! "
The people in their jubilation, erupted in cheers," Long live the princess."
The common people dressed in their traditional attire, were united in joy and celebration. The women wore beautifully embroidered saris, their sparkling bangles jingling with each movement. Men sported colorful turbans, symbolizing their pride and honor.
Old and young alike mingled together, their voices resonating with laughter and cheerful conversations. The aura of pure happiness transcended social hierarchies, as people from different castes and backgrounds united by their shared delight.
The sound of joyful music filled the air as musicians played traditional instruments, striking harmonious chords that seemed to echo through the hearts of the people. Dancers gracefully twirly, their vibrant costumes swirling as they depicted stories of dreams and hope.
Sweets and delicacies were passed around, their fragrant aroma tantalizing the senses and drawing people closer. Plates piled high with treats were shared amongst families, friends, and even strangers, as the joy of the princess's birth spread like wildfire through the empire.
Children, their eyes wide with wonderment, were held high on their parents' shoulders to catch a glimpse of the decorated palace where the princess resided. Their innocence radiated, mirroring the purity of this extraordinary moment in time.
The villagers, overflowing with joy, danced with abandon. Their bodies twisted and turned in ecstatic unison, their cares forgotten for this brief moment of jubilation.
------------------------------------------
5 years later
In the center of the palace, a spacious courtyard is bathed in golden sunlight, casting intricate patterns through the latticed windows.
Rajkumari Devashree, around 4 years old, dressed in an elegant silk ensemble, adorned with precious jewels. Her large eyes sparkling with curiosity, and her innocent laughter fills the air. Her payal jiggling, as she ran across the palace.
Behind her, Rajkumar Pratap, her younger brother, barely 3 summers old, wearing an uttariya of royal blue, chases after her with determined glee. His small feet patter against the cool marble, a mischievous smile playing on his lips.
Devashree with a playful tone called out to her brother, " You will never catch me Pratap."
Pratap panted, his breath catching, " Jiji, you are very fast, but I will definitely catch you."
The chase led them through a labyrinth of halls and courtyards, past ancient statues and bubbling fountains. Servants and courtiers stepped aside, hiding smiles behind their hands, accustomed to the siblings' antics.
They dashed into the lush gardens, where peacocks roam and lotus flowers bloomed in tranquil ponds. Devashree glanced back, her eyes sparkling with joy, seeing Pratap still on her trail.
" Tumhare chote chote pair mujhe kabhi pakad nahi payenge, Pratap" Devashree giggled, teasing him.[Your little legs will never be able to catch me, Pratap]
"Accha, abhi dekhta hu!!"[ Fine ,let's see]
As they neared a serene pond, its waters glistening under the sun, Devashree glanced back at Pratap, her eyes twinkling with mischief.
Unseen by them, the edge of the pond, was slick with moss.
Devashree laughed seeing her brother running ungracefully, " Pratap, sambhal ke! Ab main...Before she could finish her sentence, her foot slipped on the mossy edge. With a surprised yelp, she lost her balance, her arms flailing.
" Jiji!!" Pratap called out,his voice laced with concern.
In his haste to catch her, Pratap too slipped on the treacherous edge. They both tumbled into the pond with a splash, water droplets flying into the air, catching the sunlight in a shower of diamonds. The pond, though shallow, drenched them completely. They emerged, soaked but unharmed, their royal garb clinging to them.
For a moment, surprise painted their faces; then, as if on cue, they both burst into laughter, their joyous sounds echoing off the palace walls.
Devashree, wiping water from her face, said teasingly, " Well, it seems the pond caught us both, Pratap!"
Pratap also laugh and splashed water gently at his jiji.
" Haan, jiji! Lagta hai aaj tallab ne hum dono ko pakad liya!"
Their laughter, pure and unbridled, filled the garden, a testament to their carefree spirits.
Maharani Madhulika , Yuvraj Dharmendra along with servants, courtiers, drawn by the commotion, arrived at the scene. Seeing the royal siblings drenched yet beaming, they couldn't help but join in the laughter, the joy of the moment uniting them all.
"Kya Karu main in dono ka? Jab dekho tab shararat karte rehte hai. Mera Pratap, kitna bhola tha, bilkul shararati bana diya hai tune ise, meri bacchi!! "["What should I do with these two? Whenever I see them, they keep doing mischief. My Pratap, he was so innocent, you have made him completely mischievous, my daughter!!]
Madhulika complained to her daughter, her face frowning but her eyes expressing delight and joy.
It had been 5 years since they had been blessed with a mischievous bundle of joy. She was a beacon of joy in their lives, spreading her laughter everywhere.
A year later they had welcomed the youngest member of the family, Pratap. In the company of his elder sister, he had developed the same mischievous streak, practically worshiping the ground his jiji walked on. They were always attached to the hips.
Seeing her bhratashree, Devashree, excitedly ran towards her elder brother, Dharmendra. "Bhratashree, please take us horse riding near the forest today!" she pleaded, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
The young Yuvraj couldn't resist his little sister's pleading and finally gave in, knowing how much she loved riding.
"Achha thik hai," he said with a smile, "but we have to be careful near the forest. It can be a dangerous place. Pratap, you are too young to ride, you will ride with me" Devashree grinned and nodded, knowing that her brother would always protect them.
They walked towards the stable and helped Ananya get onto her favorite horse, Dhanush. As they rode towards the forest, Devashree couldn't contain her excitement and kept chattering about how she wanted to ride faster and faster.
Finally, they reached the forest and her eyes widened in wonder at the beautiful trees and animals around them. She absolutely loved nature. "Bhratashree, can we go deeper into the forest, just a little bit, please?" she asked, her hand tugging on his sleeve.
Dharmendra hesitated for a moment, but then he saw her pleading puppy eyes, they were just so adorable, he could never resist them and the young devil knew it.
"Chalo," he said, leading the way deeper into the forest.
They rode through the trees, with Devashree's and Pratap's laughter echoing through the forest. As they reached a clearing, they began to ride faster. Dharmendra watched proudly as she rode around the clearing, her hair flying behind her. She was a fearless rider, just like their father.
The sun was shining bright in the sky as the Devashree rode on her majestic horse, with Dharmendra by her side and Pratap sitting in front of him. The forest was alive with the chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves, and she couldn't help but feel a sense of freedom and joy as she galloped through the trees.
But suddenly, her senses were caught by the sound of a faint cry. She halted her horse and listened carefully, her heart racing with curiosity. Her sharp eyes scanned the trees and bushes and finally, she spotted a lone wolf cub, injured and whimpering. Without a moment's hesitation, she got off her horse and ran towards it, gathering the poor creature in her arms.
Her brothers followed behind her, and they all gathered around the little cub, Devashree gently stroking its fur and soothing its cries. "Can we keep it, bhratashree?" she pleaded, her eyes shining with compassion. She didn't want to leave the heavily injured young cub behind. Its mother had abandoned it she assumed. How could she leave it to die?
Pratap also echoed her request, his own eyes pleading.
Dharmendra couldn't resist their puppy dog eyes and their heartfelt pleas. Being a sensitive soul himself, he understood his sister's love for all living creatures. "Alright, we will take it back with us," he finally gave in, smiling at their excitement.
The triumphant siblings brought the wolf cub back to the palace, where little Devashree took great care in treating its injuries. Her father and grandfather were both impressed and proud of her compassionate nature. "You have a heart of gold, my dear," her Pitashree praised, ruffling her hair affectionately.
"But darling, a wolf is a wild and dangerous animal. Are you sure you want to keep it here with us?" her grandfather asked, concerned for her safety.
Devashree looked up at them with determination in her eyes. "I will take good care of it and tame it. Please let me keep it," she pleaded, holding the wolf cub close to her chest.
After much deliberation, her father and grandfather finally gave in to her wishes, knowing that they could never deny her anything. "Very well, my dear. But remember, a wild animal can never truly be tamed. Always be careful," her grandfather warned, placing a hand on her shoulder.
Devashree couldn't contain her joy as she hugged her precious wolf cub, feeling grateful for the opportunity to show it love and compassion. The soul and heart of the Jagatjanani reflecting through her deeds.
Little did she know, this small act of kindness would have a great impact on the kingdom and its people, as her gentle heart would inspire others to show love and compassion towards all creatures, big and small.
Far across the lands, sitting under a tree, a young divine boy smiled playfully.
Sajj ho jao priye, hamare Milne ka samay sameep aa Raha hai.
[Get ready darling, the time of our meeting is coming near]
-----------------------------------------
She found herself standing on a vast green field, the air filled with sweet melodies that entranced her soul. Before her, she saw a young boy, not much older than herself, with the most enchanting smile. He had a crown adorned with peacock feathers and the most mesmerizing eyes.
To her astonishment, she watched as he effortlessly lifted a mighty mountain with his tiny finger, as if it were a mere feather. Thinking she must be dreaming, Devashree rubbed her eyes, but the sight remained unchanged. He seemed to possess a divinity that was beyond comprehension.
As he continued to defy the laws of nature, Krishna noticed the bewildered expression on his priye's face. A playful smirk appeared on his lips as he decided to indulge in a little mischief. He raised his delicate flute to his lips and started playing the most captivating melody.
The tune wove through the air, awakening a sense of love and longing within Devashree's heart. She had heard it before. The melody resonated with her soul, causing her to forget her surroundings and become completely lost in the music. It was as if the flute had cast a spell, entwining her emotions with an unexplainable connection to him.
As the dream continued, Devashree found herself growing more intrigued by Krishna, his divine gestures, and their shared connection. She realized that there was something magical about their encounter, something that she couldn't comprehend fully at her young age.
Slowly, Devashree began to wake from her dream, still pondering the mystery that lay within.
Although her memories of the dream began to fade, her innocent heart held onto the spark of divinity that the boy had ignited within her.
She sat up in bed, her mind swirling with the remnants of the dream, trying to grasp the fleeting fragments of that enchanting experience.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a gentle knock on her door. As she turned her head, still half-lost in the memory of the dream, she saw her father, Maharaj Devendra, standing in the doorway, a soft smile on his face.
"Devashree, my dear, it's time to greet the morning," he said warmly. "The people are eager to see their Rajkumari."
And somewhere, deep within, she felt a certainty that their paths would cross again, and the mystery of the dream would one day be revealed.
