My ranking + reason:
40. MAVE:
i just have problems getting into groups which members are made from AI. it just feels like less personal. i like stanning a group and getting to know the members in the process, which leads me to find my bias(es), but with AI members it just feels weird. also the song didn't really catch me. the AI factor was also a reason, i didn't listen to K/DA's music and what made me sceptical about aespa's debut, but aespa at least is mostly about the 'real' members
39. IRRIS
i never really got into Redsquare, which was most likely caused by the fact that they debuted and disappeared right after and the debut song wasn't my jam either. so when IRRIS debutet and i found out they were Redsquare before that i was kind of excited to see how they changed (they did a lot), but tbh their re-debut still didn't catch although it wasn't actually bad either
38. NMIXX
i mean NMIXX is great, i was obsessed with 'Funky Glitter Christmas' during December, but their debut wasn't just my thing. i needed an eternity to start liking O.O and Tank, although it still bothers me that i always understand 'freaky fishy fishy' instead of 'freaky fresh fresh'. the title tracks are just so messy and there is no clear concept for me visible, but still their b-sides are mostly great and less messy
37. Kep1er
As well NMIXX, Kep1er is great. i loved their debut with Wa Da Da, but tbh that's it. i love Wa Da Da, but the other releases like Up!... it just doesn't catch me and i can't get really into it, no matter how hard i try.
36. VIVIZ
really i was so sad when GFRIEND disbanded and it was like a consolation that VIVIZ debuted with three former GFRIEND members and i fucking loved their debut. Bop Bop! is so catchy and so much fun to listen to, but... just like with Kep1er their other songs don't really get me the way Bop Bop! does. i even feel like i could add 'Loveade' to the songs i dislike. i probably will be obsessed with Pull Up as soon as i listened to it more, but right now i only like Bop Bop! and Lemonade
35. H1-KEY
yeah, just like before i loved their debut with Athletic Girl, but the other songs... meh, i don't know, although i start liking Rose Blossom. the more i listen to it, the better it gets.
34. Mamadol/M.M.D
i thought it was a great idea to show that you can be a parent AND an idol, especially after the long time they weren't active in the industry, but i kind of thought it was sad that they debuted and basically disappeared again, i even think to remember that they officially disbanded. they could've been so great if they'd have continued as a group.
33. mimiirose
i personally liked 'Lululu' a lot, but rose? nah, it wasn't my thing. i didn't like the song, the choreo and at some points the outfits made me cringe.
32. Superkind
i loved their debut, but i also had the feeling that they just disappeared after releasing a banger and that's just sad. i hope they release new music soon.
31. JWiiver
i felt like their comeback was really catchy, but tbh i totally forgot about it again pretty soon after it was released.
30. GOT the beat
i knew a female version of SuperM would debut under SM, we know these mf's they do anything for money. i mean, i love all the members, just like in SuperM, lots of them are my biases in their main group, but i just think their music is too 'rough'. it's hard to explain, but i feel like the songs don't go smoothly, but kinda like a car crashing against the wall and that makes it hard for me to really enjoy them, although they aren't really bad either
29. Lapillus
i'm obsessed with Burn with Love. i swear it. i've watched the performance video, live performances and listened to the song on repeat for weeks, but Hit Ya! and also GRATATA didn't do it for me.
28. Alice
i never really got into Elris and didn't even notice their disappearance, but with Dance On they landed a bussy bop. like i love everything about this song and i hope to see more good music from them.
27. APINK CHOBOM
Copycat is basically the definition of catchy. i loved it, but i also forgot about it again.
26. ILY:1
they give me early 3rd generation kpop vibes and i'm totally here for it. i love their latest songs while their debut didn't really stayed in my mind.
25. ABLUE
i'm literally just listening to Villain, can we please agree that songs named 'Villain' are always bangers? their debut was good, but there were just ones i liked more
24. Limelight
same as with ABLUE: their debut was actually pretty good and memorable, but there were ones i prefered
23. YOUNITE
i remember watching their debut for the first time and i was in LOVE, they're so adorable and i have the feeling they can pull any concept they want and slay it, so excited for their musical future
22. Xeed
i slowly start getting into them a lot, lately, because Dream land is such a good debut song and also the side tracks are great, but i'm not sure how they will work in the future since they just debuted and already one member left the group, sometimes it will work out, but sometimes it just won't and i hope it isn't already the beginning of the end
21. tripleS AAA
Generation is so catchy, i love the song, the choreo, the music videos, the outfits, the editing,... that's how you should debut a group, still they weren't my favorite so far, but still something i'm gonna keep following
20. BLANK2Y
Thumbs Up is a really good debut song. like i really like it, but i wouldn't say i love it or am obsessed with it
19. TNX
basically the same as with BLANK2Y, their debut was amazing as such, but it didn't left me devastated, starving for more.
18. BXB
they debuted literally around 2 weeks ago or something and their debut leaves me curious about the future we'll have with them
17. FAVE1
i didn't even realized they debuted until their album was recommended to me and to be honest, i listened to it and i felt personally attacked that i didn't followed this from the beginning on. you should definitely check them out.
16. AIMERS
they also recently debuted and their debut left me devasted and hungry for more, istg. Fireworks just hits different.
15. DKZ
i love DKZ for quite a long time now, but it's always kind of hard if new members get added like some kind of game (except it's NCT, bc that's the whole concept lmao), but i still think they did a great job with Cupid. the song is amazing, as well as the MV, the outfits and the choreo. i listen to it once and it's stuck in my brain like some parasite that scratches the right parts of it.
14. &Team
to be honest, i was aware of their debut, but didn't listened/watched it for another couple of weeks (don't ask me why though). i just think their debut didn't get along with my personal life at that time and that made me overran it, which also caused that i didn't really get to be part of the hype in the beginning
13. The7
they also recently debutet and i love the catchy song and the MV, it really suits them so far as i can judge.
12. TAN
i am basically obsessed with Walking on a Moon and also with Beautiful Lie. Their other songs (Louder, Du Du Du etc) are really great as well, they have potential becoming one of my fav rookies
11. ATBO
that's my attitude, atti-attitude, that's my attitude... i just love it, there aren't much more words needed
10. Tempest
do i really have to explain myself at this point? they're amazing and for rookies they're extremely powerful, let's wait a few more years until they gained more experience and let them rule over the world
9. Fifty Fifty
i am obsessed! doesn't matter if it's Log In, Higher or Lovin' Me. their music is already diverse and amazing. the music videos, outfits and concepts; as well as the choreos show off their amazing talent.
8. 8Turn
they're so goddamned powerful like have you seen Tic Tac?! that's fucking insane for a debut.
7. CLASS:y
their music is amazing like wtf. it's crazy how talented they are. they're already one of my fav girlgroups.
6. NINE.i
THEY'RE.FUCKING.AMAZING! i don't even have words for them. AHHH i wanna scream because they're so good.
5. CSR
where the hell was their debut low budget?! i can't believe they served us such a high quality debut with low budget. they literally showed us that you don't need a lot of money to slay. their music gives me comfort and serotonin, i'm obsessed. they also are already one of my favs.
4. TRENDZ
what they did was fucking crazy. from the very beginning on. and their latest comeback with Vagabond? please just kill me, that's insane.
3. SHINHWA WDJ
do i have to explain my love for SHINHWA? they're the freaking gods of kpop and although they don't need to prove us anything, they just served us probably the hottest shit, like they always do, because they know they fucking can.
2. LE SSERAFIM
gorgeous, freaking gorgeous. that's how you let a group debut. they're so powerful and elegant at the same time and although they had a scandal with Garam leaving so shortly after they debut, they didn't let that affect them and their music, it feels like they even put even more effort into the next comeback to prove everyone nothing can bring them down, their on the way to rule the world.
1. NewJeans
PERFECTION, PURE FUCKING PERFECTION. Everything about their debut and their comebacks is fucking stunning. Nobody can stop them now that they started. The concept, the music, the lyrics, the THEORIES, the choreos, literally everything. I'm so in love and omg, please, they serve and slay, NewJeans for world domination.
