Jung Eunbi (Eunha) & Hwang Eunbi (SinB)

It's been a while since I've had a fantasy based story, let's see if I can pull this off. Obviously these rules of mine won't make sense and only work because of plot. It won't be too crazy, I just hope it works.

I will be referring to SinB as Eunbi and Eunha as her stage name. That was probably one of the first few things I learned about Gfriend that they had two Eunbi's. I really am a sucker for Eunbi's. Also SinB will be the older one, and they will have her surname.

From The Other Side
The chattering of students and the sounds of movement of bodies filled the halls. The morning bell was making it's arrival for the day, as students and teachers prepared for another day of learning and teaching. Hwang Eunbi had just taken her seat alongside her fellow classmates and friends. On normal days, they'd be stoic to greet her and share the details of their weekends. However this week was different for them. Ever since they'd become friends, every year Eunbi has requested a week off from them, just so she could be alone. More importantly, she needed the time to mourn. It was over a few years ago that her sister passed away. Her younger sister, Hwang Eunha, had gone missing suddenly one day. It was later revealed that she had been murdered, and though her body had never been found, it was concluded that she was deceased.

This was a breaking point for Eunbi as she was the closest person to her sister. Her best friend, the baby sister Eunbi held in her arms when she was born, had died because of a murderer. To make things worse, the murderer had never been caught. Eunbi's new reason in life was to become a detective, to provide justice to those who deserved it. She had her sister stolen from her, she wasn't going to let that happen to someone else.

The home room teacher came into the class with a student on her tail. It was a boy who seemed a little extraordinary. He had what seems to be prayer beads around his neck, he had gloves on to top it off, especially when it wasn't winter. His eyes however were warm, sending off a peaceful glare.

"Settle down, this is no good impression for our new student. Go on, introduce yourself." The teacher spoke, she almost gave him a pat on the back only to retract her hand immediately and apologize. She took in a deep breath and hid her hands behind her back.

"My name is Cha (Y/n), as you all just saw Ms. Kim do, please don't touch me. It seems like a joke I know, but I am begging you to not touch me. I... can see ghosts, and making skin to skin contact with me also allows you to see. I promise you, it's not a pretty sight." A few kids snickered while some gave him looks of doubts, even some of disgust.

"Prove it, what if you're just a big germaphobe." One student said.

(Y/n) let out a small smile, creeping out the girl who asked. "Jung Yerin, your grandmother would like me to give you a message. She wishes you good health, for you to continue to eat well, and that she loves you very much." It wasn't his intention to make her cry, but she certainly did so. (Y/n) walked over to her side as students scooted out the way to avoid him.

"Would you like to see her for a moment?" (Y/n) asked, to which Yerin had to take in for a bit to fully understand his words. She finally nodded, watching as he pulled one glove off of his hand. He instructed her to use one finger only, placing it into the palm of his hand.

Her tears streamed down harder at the sight she saw. It was as he promised, however it didn't last long. (Y/n) pulled his hand away and slipped his glove on right after. "I'm sorry, but that's all I can show you. Any longer and you might see other things that aren't very nice." She nodded, thanking him and even apologized for saying what she said earlier.

"I believe that's good enough (Y/n), please take a seat." Their teacher cut in and ended the scene in front of them.

"Just stay away from me, we don't need to be friends. Leave me alone, and it'll be like I don't even exist. Just leave me be, that's all I ask." More than earlier, the students nodded and were finally believing in him.

Lunchtime
Classes sped away and finally came to a halt with the long awaited lunch break that so many students crave every single day. After dodging so many students who tried to ask him more about his ability, he managed to find some time alone. He found a bench to himself outside of the school. Just as he thought he finally had a moment of peace, someone sat down beside him. (Y/n) turned his attention over to the perpetrator, seeing that it was a girl, noting her name tag into his mind. He wouldn't mind it so much if she wasn't eyeing him down like a hawk. (Y/n) let out a heavy sigh, hoping she'd go away but it didn't even seem to make her blink.

"Is there something you'd like?" He finally asked, seeing that she wouldn't just leave.

"Prove it. I want to see if you can actually see ghosts." Eunbi asked.

"Are you that interested in seeing such things? Maybe you could just take this curse away from me then." (Y/n) sarcastically said, not seeming to grant her request.

"Please?" His eyes met hers again, seeing that she didn't seem to be messing around. He knew this look all too well, over the years in his life, whenever people found out about his ability to speak to the dead, people would pester and ask him to be the link between both worlds. Whether it was just to send a simple greeting and message, people would force him to do such tasks for their own personal gain.

(Y/n) slipped his glove off, nearing her hands and stopping it there. "Promise me you won't scream? That you won't call me a monster and tell people I touched you first." She nodded, going ahead and grabbing a hold of his hand despite his instructions to only use one finger.

(Y/n) began pulling his hand away to stop her since this was against his terms. His fears came true when she covered her head with her own hands. "I told you, that's exactly why you shouldn't touch my hand completely." (Y/n) said.

"Sorry... it's just I saw that one over there..." She pointed to the tree where he could see the mangled body of the ghost that was currently hanging from the tree.

"Yeah, that one is pretty creepy. Well now you know, just stay away from me if you don't want to see anymore okay?" (Y/n) said.

"Can you tell me more about it?" (Y/n) had to ask her to repeat her words as he couldn't exactly believe that she was interested after seeing such sights. "What else can you see? What kinds of ghosts are there? Why is it only you who has this ability?" She bombarded him with these questions and more.

"Slow down, I'll tell you everything so just listen." She zipped her mouth and stayed silent and awaited his answer. "There are other people like me, I'm sure you've heard of shamans who perform rituals and such. Ever since I was a kid I've been able to see ghosts, so I've seen a lot of them. Some were scary, some were normal, and there were those that couldn't leave my mind." Eunbi asked what he meant by that last part.

"It's like I said, I've been able to do this since I was a child. People would constantly beg me to send messages to their deceased ones, some even got angry when I refused. It became such a daily thing that I couldn't take it anymore. I didn't want to be a tool for people to use." (Y/n) explained.

"I just wanted to be normal like everyone else, so I could live a normal life, make some friends, maybe even find someone to love. Like that'll ever happen..." She stared at him, taking in the words of his stories.

"I can help..." She let out, her face immediately burning red as she realized what she just said. "As a friend, only a friend that's what I meant."

"You want to be friends with me. Are you sure about that?" She nodded. "I'm serious. It's scary that I might see a ghost because of you, but that won't happen as long as I don't touch you. I'd like to be friends (Y/n)."

Finally a smile formed on his lips, showing her his answer. (Y/n) offered a handshake to which she yanked her hand away unintentionally. "My gloves are on, you'll be fine." Eunbi took his hand and saw his words come true as she looked around again to see nothing. "Let's be friends..."

2 months later
Only a few weeks have passed but Eunbi and (Y/n) were quickly acquainted with each other. They became good friends instantly and she would be lying if she didn't like having his presence around her, for two purposes she found. It made her feel horrible as to why she was doing this, but she knew there wouldn't be another opportunity like this. She needed answers, and this was her solution. Everyday that went by, Eunbi was spending most of her day with (Y/n) and learning as much as she could about the afterlife and the ghosts that linger around even after death. She didn't want to be like this, all manipulative and leading (Y/n) on, but it was working too well. Her friends figured she just had a big crush on him but in reality she was planning on using his powers to her own benefits. She knew that the outcome wouldn't be nice but she couldn't let this go. He was going to help her, whether he liked it or not.

(Y/n) seemed to be going along with her plans quite well also. He talked with her more than anyone else in the entire school. It ended up being another step in her plans, and it eventually led to her asking him to hang out with her on a weekend. Eunbi brought him to the last known location of her sister which was their old home. She managed to make him agree saying it was just her home. (Y/n)'s skepticism was obvious to her and she had to go out of her ways to convince him and that was a payment in the form of a kiss, on his cheek of course. She said she wanted to tell him the rest later, baiting him into finally submitting to her demand.

This was the other side as to why she was always with him. The kiss wasn't a lie, and as to what she would actually tell him that day was her feelings. She liked him, she truly did but her sister's peace came first.

Present Day
(Y/n) arrived as they agreed on and Eunbi was already awaiting his arrival. However, this is where her act ends. The house was run down and abandoned, there was nothing Eunbi could do to cover this up. The moment she met his eyes, she knew that he was against this. In all their time spent together, this was the first time that she saw a form of anger in his eyes. Even though he knew what was about to happen, the goodness in his heart forced him to walk over to her. Maybe it was the last bit of kindness he could spare her for being so friendly for the past months, even if it was all a lie.

"Why did you bring me here?" (Y/n)'s soft voice came out, not even wanting to look at her.

"I know you're upset with me... but please I will explain everything to you. Just go inside with me." She tried to grab ahold of his hand but he yanked it away.

"I thought you were different Eunbi. You actually fooled me... you did exactly what people would do to me." He backed away slowly.

"I promise I will tell you everything, just give me 5 minutes. That's all I ask of you." (Y/n) refused and began walking until she ran around in front of him, attempting to stop him. "Please (Y/n), I need you." Her tears began to escape her eyes, pulling on his heartstrings.

"5 minutes, right now tell me or I'm leaving." She thanked him, letting everything out right there on the spot. All Eunbi wanted was to see if her sister was a ghost or not, if she was then she wanted to set her sister's soul free. She knew why (Y/n) would've never agreed to this if she had asked him. A while back while explaining about different ghosts, (Y/n) mentioned that those that died of unnatural causes were the worst experiences he had to endure. Vengeful spirits were the main causes of those cases. He's seen only a few and they've lingered in his memories to this very day, and he never wants to see another one again.

"It's my sister, I'll do the talking not you. Please just let me find her, I have to." She hated that he had a weak spot for her, it only increased the ever growing guilt.

"I don't ever want to see you again after this. We're done, I don't want to be friends with you any longer." He meant every word, seeing her hurt reaction to his destruction of their friendship. She expected it, yet it hurt unlike she was able to imagine.

"Thank you (Y/n)... and I'm sorry. I'm so sorry..." She pressed her head against his chest, wanting to hide away any more tears that were dropping from her face.

Eunbi led him inside the house, taking in the empty atmospheric feelings. This used to be a home where a family lived, where kids grew up and played and laughed. Instead it became an empty shell of someone's life. Eunbi looked around and recalled every moment she could, all the memories of her growing up and living her life with her family. After her sister's death, it was never the same ever again. Her family's bond was beyond repair despite the things they've tried to do.

(Y/n) looked to places where he'd expect a lingering ghost to be, hoping to get this over with. He slid one of the bedroom doors open, taking a peek inside of the room. To his surprise there it was, a girl laid atop of the bunk bed fidgeting with her own hands. It didn't take long for her eyes to meet his, letting her realize that she was being watched.

"Eunbi!" (Y/n) shouted as she immediately ran over to him. The girl was even more shocked when she saw the person who ran over. The name was enough but the sight of her elder sister brought her to tears.

"What?! Did you—" (Y/n) pulled his glove off, as Eunbi immediately grabbed his hand. Her eyes matched his, allowing her to see the girl in front of them.

"Eunha..." Eunbi cried out, reaching her hand out and wiping away her sister's tears. The two immediately embraced for a hug, crying into each other's shoulders. It was a reunion the two imagined of never coming true. How long Eunha must've waited for someone to still remember and come for her.

"You can see me... I can't believe it. I missed you so much." The younger one cried.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry for not finding you." The elder apologized.

"I was waiting for you." Her apologies couldn't make up for the time that she younger one felt and went through.

The two dropped to the ground, forcing (Y/n) to also knee down and take a seat while he tried to contain his own tears at the sight. Another factor as to why he couldn't do this for people anymore. It broke him just as much as it did the victims, somehow just being linked to the victim gave him the same feelings they did. Their cries seemed like they were never going to stop, (Y/n) could only sit against the wall and be the link for them. Eunbi finally noticed his current state, seeing him hiding his face within his knees. She could hear the suppressed cries he was emitting. Everything they were feeling, he was able to do more than just empathize. His heart was literally aching to death from seeing this.

She moved over and covered herself around him, holding him tightly. "I'm sorry (Y/n), I didn't mean for you to go through this again. I'm so sorry for this, but I'm very grateful for you." The younger girl came around and followed her sister's actions, hugging the crying boy and comforted him on a level he's never felt before.

"J-Just go on... ignore me. I'm not here, this is for you two." His broken voice managed to fully get out his feelings.

Eunbi explained a little bit to her sister as to why (Y/n) was here. "He's able to see ghosts, so I needed him to help me see you again. My dear little sister... you deserved more than this." Eunha kept her eyes on (Y/n), watching the boy finish catching his breath after his breakdown.

"You have a very sweet boyfriend Unnie... I'm happy for you." Eunbi's cheeks reddened but not much of a reaction came out. She smiled at the sound of that but after hearing that (Y/n) wants nothing to do with her after this blew those chances away. "We're just friends, Eunha. I would be a terrible girlfriend to him... I lied to bring him here, I spent time with him just to see you again. I can never apologize enough for deceiving him into this." She muttered words of apologies again to (Y/n) but it seemed that he was so out of it that he didn't even hear it.

"You like him though. I can tell Unnie." Eunbi couldn't deny that, slowly emitting a nod to which her sister smiled at. "I... think you should stay with him. Work at receiving his forgiveness because I believe you two were meant for each other." She definitely aged while being a ghost, her younger sister was being quite insightful with her words going beyond Eunbi's belief.

"(Y/n)? Are you okay?" The boy didn't respond to her, Eunha immediately following it up after. "(Y/n)-ah, thank you for coming here. Please take care of my Unnie for me. I'm entrusting her to you, so don't make me haunt you for the rest of your life." Eunbi scolded her a little, asking her not to go that far, informing her that he's been going through this ever since he was a kid.

"I think he's asleep... can you help—" Eunbi laughed at herself a little, having forgotten that her sister is a ghost. She tried to wake up (Y/n) but Eunha surprised her when she was able to touch and actually helped lift (Y/n) up. The two brought him over to the bed and laid him down. For a split second Eunbi's hand lost connection with (Y/n) and the sight of Eunha disappeared. She didn't let that last long, taking his hand into hers again.

"I want to hear everything, I need to know what happened to you that day." Eunbi asked her sister.

The younger girl nodded, taking a moment to herself before revealing the events of that day. She was home alone at the time, both their parents and Eunbi were gone due to personal matters. Their parents were at work while Eunbi was after school dealing with some extra class work she had picked up at the time. "I thought it was either you or mom and dad that was at the door... and I didn't think to check. By the time I realized what was going on, he was already inside the house and I couldn't do anything." Eunbi held onto her sister tighter, suppressing in her tears.

"I was stabbed... again and again until I couldn't even think anymore. It hurt so much that I couldn't even scream, my voice was just gone." The younger girl went on to describe the details of what happened next.

"That's all I could remember... that was it for me. I thought it was just a bad dream when I saw you come back home. Then you walked past me, and didn't respond to anything I was saying. It was then that I realized I wasn't technically alive anymore. I watched as you panicked, calling for me, crying for help to find me every second that passed that night." Eunha said. "I wished I could've comforted you, that it wasn't your fault why I died."

"I should've came home with you, rather than trying to earn some stupid extra credit. You were worth more than anything in this world. I'm so sorry Eunha." Eunbi cried out. "And now you're still here as a ghost, you never even passed on. You were here all along and I didn't even know." The younger sister comforted her older sister. "Seeing you again was worth going through that nightmare. Even if I'm not alive anymore... I got to see how much you've changed Unnie. You are so beautiful, and now you even have someone who will stay by your side and love you."

"It wasn't worth losing you... I would rather grow old alone and have you alive as my sister." Eunha tried her best to stay strong and not also drop to despair.

"I wish things could've been better for the both of us Unnie, but you shouldn't take the things you have now for granted." Once again she referred to (Y/n) who was still asleep.

"He's only a friend, and he doesn't even want to be friends anymore after this. I lied to him, I used him to my own gain. I did the same as what other people did to him while he grew up with these abilities." Eunbi explained.

"And I'm saying that you two were meant for each other. I'm serious, Unnie don't let go of him." She was serious and Eunbi could feel it. She knew that this wouldn't pass without consequences. (Y/n)'s cutting off his ties to her and now her sister is encouraging her to stay with him. She can't imagine what he's going to say.

"What do we do about you now...? Are you going to stay here forever as a ghost?" Eunbi asked.

"I'm tied to this world, and I can't leave. I... don't know what to do." Her younger sister's voice grew weak with this new topic.

"(Y/n) will know, he has to. He's taught me so much about how ghosts pass on and such, I'm sure he'll find a way for us to free you." Eunha smiled at the sound of that for two reasons.

"Let's wait for him to wake up then. Now I want to hear your stories, Unnie."

2 hours later
(Y/n) finally began to wake up after having his mental capacity shredded in front of him a few hours ago. He immediately shot upwards only to collide with the top of the upper bed. A small giggle came from his side as he rolled his head over to see the two girls who were with him earlier. Eunbi was asleep by his side, her hand still held onto him while the other one was holding onto her sister.

"I guess it's your turn now. She's asleep and you're awake now." (Y/n) gave her a look only to ignore her words.

He tried loosening Eunbi's grasp on his hand but it wouldn't budge. Rather it only tightened making the boy give up with disappointment. Again, a small laugh was heard from the side.

"She's still clingy as ever. That's why we stopped sharing a bed." Eunha said, leaning over closer and clearing some hair out of Eunbi's face.

"Help her onto the bed, I don't want her to get sore sleeping like this." (Y/n) didn't answer and only did as instructed. Finally he was able to shake her grip loose after laying her down. However, only a few seconds passed before he placed his hand back into her palm. Her fingers locked up around his hand again, and he just took a seat.

His head turned to the side when he felt his other hand also lock up with another pair. The younger girl smiled as she admired their sync of hands. "I can see why she likes holding your hand. It's very comfortable, and warm. I haven't felt anything like this, not even when I was still alive." She said.

"Do you like my sister?" Eunha asked, seeing a tiny ounce of embarrassment form in his eyes. It was a given answer at that point to which she was content with. Even more surprising was the first few words he finally said to her. "I do..." Acting like she heard his answer or if it was just a twitch from her, Eunbi's hand squeezed his firmly.

"That's perfect then. Please take good care of her, otherwise I won't let you sleep at night. I mean it, I will seriously hurt you if you ever make her cry." She got up close and personal to him, with their faces inches apart.

"I know she lied and did what she did to bring you here, but don't take it to heart. I know it was selfish for her and I to reunite and use you at the same time. That doesn't take away the fact that she had developed feelings for you." What a Cupid this girl was, giving all the answers to (Y/n) and revealing Eunbi's feelings to him.

"I am a little jealous though. If I was still alive, maybe I would've had a chance with you too. You're really cute (Y/n)." The sound of his name coming off of her voice made him shudder. "You belong to my sister though, so I won't interfere."

"You're like no other ghost I've encountered." She smiled at the sound of that.

"I guess that means you'll remember me. I'm very flattered." That wasn't a joke, she truly meant it.

"So... I'm guessing you're bound to this world? Your body was never found so that means you were never buried properly or cremated." Eunha admired her sister's words from earlier. (Y/n) definitely would know the answer to her case.

"Is there anything we can do...?" Eunha asked.

"The police did all they could, and found nothing. That only leaves it to us. And if I were to provide anything you say as evidence it may not be enough. Is there anything you can remember though?" She knew what he was trying to say. Even if they do catch the killer with both of their capabilities, who would believe them? A kid who suddenly manages to solve a cold case without evidence other than that he can "see" ghosts, and the supposed ghost that helped him was the one who was murdered.

"Eunbi said you didn't quite know what you wanted to do for your future career right? What if... you become a detective? You could solve my case, and many more with your talent." It didn't sound bad initially, but then again that means he'd have to deal with families of the deceased.

"That's a burden for me to carry. To be the sole person who relays messages between the living and the dead. I didn't want to live my life like this." It was hard to call it selfish, rather it was just his human side that wanted to be normal.

"Eunbi mentioned how you felt about your ability being a curse. I see it as a gift. Just think of all the great things you can do for people." Eunha emphasized.

"What great things I did. I prevented people from moving on and was a usage for those who couldn't let go of their loved ones. I had to beg my parents to stop others from finding me. I was tired of being used, shouted at when they weren't able to finish their time with the other side." (Y/n) said, seeing her face turn with discomfort.

"Sorry... I didn't think you went through things like that." She confessed, not pushing that topic any longer. (Y/n) didn't say another word as he just laid against the bed and waited for Eunbi to wake up. A few hours later and she finally got up, allowing him to leave. She promised to return to her sister on a different day if possible, but it wouldn't exactly be the same without (Y/n).

(Y/n) could've left at any moment without waiting, but something held him back. It wasn't enough to make him talk to her however, the last action he did was walk her home at least.

Next Day
Eunbi came to school that morning dreading having to see (Y/n) again. Before yesterday she'd normally be up and ready to run over to him, but seeing how he was still upset with her towards the end of their time yesterday, she didn't want to push her luck. She entered the class, her eyes scanned for (Y/n) immediately. He was in his seat, sound asleep despite the chatter of students. Eunbi took her seat, which also happened to be beside him, avoiding him was impossible. She rested her head onto her palm, seemingly just staring into his sleeping face. It was just too mesmerizing to stop, perhaps that was the reason why she fell asleep yesterday.

Suddenly one of his eyes creaked open, blurry but still able to make out the girl in front of him. "Can't you just leave me alone? I didn't get any sleep because of you last night." Eunbi was a bit confused, did he not sleep because of her? Was he up all night thinking of her?

"W-What did I do?" She questioned. "You're a weird one... Eunha." Her eyes widened as she heard her sister's name come off his lips. Maybe he was just mistaken by her, they did look alike after all. There's no way her sister actually followed him home and kept him up all night.

There was only one way to find out as she reached over and touched his face, since it was the only open spot on him that was reachable. Her eyes lit up as she felt the presence of something right beside her. Her sister waved cutely, a sudden surprise to her older sister.

"What the heck are you doing here? Have you been following him?!" She whispered, and her sister nodded without even blinking.

"You can't just—" A interruption came from behind them when she came face to face with her friends. Yerin's wide eyes made her realize what she's just been caught doing. "Uh... Eunbi? What. Are. You. Doing?" Yerin asked.

"We'll talk later." Her sister whispered into her ear as Eunbi also pulled her hand away from (Y/n)'s face. More important things were on the lines now, especially with her friends already jumping to the ends of the earth with their conclusions.

Later
Eunbi chased after (Y/n) who had just left the class for his lunch break. It was for the answer to why her sister was with him and also to escape her friends who wouldn't let her breath after seeing her move from earlier. She was a bit behind so she got stuck in the line, but eventually she caught up and sat beside him. The sudden slam of her tray against the table made him raise his head to meet her gaze. Unlike yesterday's hurtful and disappointing look he gave her, this one was still clouded with drowsiness and just a lack of care at the moment.

"So... why is Eunha here?" Eunbi asked.

"Ask her yourself, and why she followed me back home and kept me awake last night." (Y/n) groaned from the recollection of questions and topics he had covered with her last night.

"Can I?" She referred to his hand as he extended it so she could link up. (Y/n) didn't even have his glove on showing his exhaustion. Eunbi thanked him before wrapping her fingers around his hand. Just one finger was enough but here she was going beyond that, maybe it was the feeling of his hand too. After holding onto it for a few hours yesterday, she could say it was definitely comfortable.

"You don't have to hold my hand fully, you know?" (Y/n) let her know but she didn't seem to care or listen as Eunha was already on her mind.

"So why did you go home with him?" Eunbi asked.

"I haven't talked with anyone in over 3 years, and plus (Y/n) is the only person who could see me. I don't know, I just wanted to talk with him some more. He was so cute when we were talking about you. If only you could've heard the things he said he liked about you." Eunbi's face flushed red as did (Y/n)'s, but he didn't say a word. Eunha clapped happily as she cheered them both on.

"I can't wait until you two finally date. I saw that your friends were quite shocked and happy. I'm guessing he'll be your first?" Eunbi nodded to her younger sister's question.

Eunha leaned over and whispered into (Y/n)'s ear making him choke on his current bite of food. Eunbi helped pat his back to clear up his breath alongside the urge for him to drink his water. "I'm not doing that to her." (Y/n) said to the girl who was now giggling at his side.

"Come on please? I want to see her reaction." Eunha pleaded but he still refused. "It's considered sexual assault without consent." (Y/n) muttered as he continued on munching.

"Eunha, stop messing with him." She came over to Eunbi's side and held her.

"Sorry Unnie, I just really wanted to see him kiss you. Did you know he was planning on asking you out yesterday?" She was giving everything away and nothing could be done to stop it. A thud came from beside them as they looked over to see (Y/n) with his head slammed against the table.

"See? He really does like you." Eunha whispered into Eunbi's ear.

She couldn't help but smile at that. Ever since her sister began teasing their "relationship" together, she couldn't help but not lose hope. (Y/n) almost severed their friendship as of yesterday, and now they were mere inches apart. Eunbi had leaned over closer to his face that was still pressed into the table. "My answer would've been yes, and it still is." Her lips pressed up against his cheek for a soft kiss before pulling away. His head turned and looked to her gaze and finally he submitted to her. A smile formed on his lips, while his hand finally grasped hers back in return.

She quickly hid her face into (Y/n)'s shoulder from sheer embarrassment of kissing him and accepting his feelings. "I'm still upset with you for using me. Don't think you can just kiss me to make it go away." (Y/n) said.

""I knew it! You two were totally dating!" Yerin's voice alarmed them both as they looked up to see Eunbi's group of friends who began to sit down beside them.

Five years later
(Y/n) and Eunbi both graduated high school together, immediately enrolling into the police academy and worked their way through the program. It was not an easy process for them to achieve their main goal which was to find and prosecute Eunha's murderer. With (Y/n)'s ability however, both him and Eunbi were able to take on cases at a rapid pace. They cleared one after another and even gained their reputation of being a powerful duo. All of this just so they could free her sister's soul, and they didn't regret a second of it.

Aside from working their shifts, they spent time together of course. Eunbi and (Y/n) remained together as lovers even after high school. They moved into an apartment together, studied and went through everything together.

Eunha was also there the whole time, being the sister that Eunbi had lost and the friend with all the answers that (Y/n) needed. She was like an extra roommate who gave her input when needed, yet she also had needs of her own. Especially once she discovered she could eat food still. It made an extra dent in their monthly budgets but this was all for her.

With the other remaining time they had, it was spent on searching for the sole culprit of Eunha's murder. (Y/n) would just spend countless hours roaming around the city with Eunha by his side. They had established that Eunha could recall the murderer's face, it was just a matter of finding him since they weren't exactly living in a small town.

Present Night
(Y/n) and Eunha made another run of their routine while Eunbi had some time off to herself. She was having a ladies night out with her friends. Eunha wished she could participate but that would require (Y/n)'s presence to be there. So it was just these two for tonight, roaming the streets of Seoul tonight. Side by side they walked the night, passing by people who were living their everyday lives. Tonight of all nights had to also be a street event with night shops and food vendors coming out altogether. So while his girlfriend partied with her friends, he was out with his friend taking in the view of the night.

"So, when are you planning on marrying Eunbi (Y/n)?" She jumped at his sides, having asked this once before.

"I'd prefer for this to be a surprise rather than what happens to most of my plans. You know why I've stopped sharing secrets with you." (Y/n) said, still remembering when she spoiled his 3rd year anniversary with Eunbi.

"Come on! I promise I won't tell her this time. This is different okay?" Eunha whined.

"I said no, because I don't have any plans of asking her to marry me yet. I'd do it without a doubt, but I don't think it's time yet." (Y/n) answered her curiosity.

"I won't even be able to be one of Eunbi's bridesmaids. I really wish I was still alive." Eunha wholeheartedly admitted to him.

"You'll always be in her heart, and mine. We won't ever forget you, after all we've been through." (Y/n) said watching her get teary eyed.

"Can I?" A reminiscence of her older sister played in his head as Eunha was asking for his hand. She clasped both of her hands around his hand, holding it up against her face.

"Appa!" Their ears perked up at the sound of a kid's voice. It led them to a family who was beside them, watching as the father picked up the child into his arms and lifting them up onto his own shoulders.

(Y/n) let out a smile at the sight, wishing to also have a family like that one day with Eunbi. His mind discarded that thought immediately when he saw Eunha fall to the ground. (Y/n) kneeled down and instantly questioned her sudden departure to the ground.

"T-That's him (Y/n)... he's the one who—" He didn't need another word to help him understand the situation. He pulled out his phone and immediately compared their "supposed" image of the murderer. It wasn't exactly spot on, but if Eunha was sure it was him, then he wasn't going to let this man go.

He snapped a picture of the man who was unaware of his presence, sending it back to his team. If this was the right guy, (Y/n) was going to need everything about him.

Eunha watched as his eyes emitted a hint of anger or perhaps rage. He pulled out his badge and walked over, stopping in front of the family. The man instantly pulled his child down and kept his wife behind him.

"Can I help you?" He asked, his eyes showed his uneasiness.

"Good evening, I am detective Cha, I'd like to ask you a few questions sir." He still had to keep up a formality, just in case this was a fluke from Eunha. He trusted her call but he still had to be professional.

"8 years ago, a case went cold and was never solved. A young girl was murdered in her home and the body was never found. We have a witness that claims to have seen the culprit. And I'm sorry to say but he looked like you, so I'd like to check a few things with you." The man still didn't let his guard down, rather he grew even more defensive. Shouting nonsense about how ridiculous it would be for only one person's voice to determine if he was the culprit or not. If only he knew that this witness was also the victim.

"I know how this sounds, but I'd just like to check. And I'm more than willing to detain you if you choose to resist." (Y/n) said, watching his family worry at the sound of that. The man complied finally and answered a few questions, just basic things he planned on asking. It wasn't until he dropped Eunha's name.

"Hwang Eunha, that was her name. Ring any bells?" (Y/n)'s voice darkened as he could see through this guy. After taking on many cases, he began to be able to determine lies and truths apart. Whenever someone was innocent or not, (Y/n) was a knack for being able to tell.

"IT Was Not Me." The man emphasized his words.

"One last thing then, please allow me to ask you one more question. Take my hand, and I'll ask you." (Y/n) pulled his glove off and offered it for him to touch.

"Why would I need to touch your hand for you to ask me a question?" With another warning of being arrested and with the help of his family pleading for him to comply, he finally made contact with (Y/n). Eunha wasted no time and shoved herself in his face.

"Hi, remember me?" The man let out a scream as he fell down onto his back in fear. Eunha may have given him a good fright, but he deserved more than that. His mind spiraled out of control as he openly said the words "you're dead" and "how are you still alive?"

(Y/n)'s phone was on record this whole time as well, so video evidence was another to add to his list. He pulled out his handcuffs before slapping them over the man's wrists. "You are under arrest for the murder of Hwang Eunha. You have the right to remain silent and the right to an attorney. Anything you say or do can and will be used against you in court." He made a call for backup as he didn't currently have a vehicle with him.

(Y/n) held him in custody until help arrived, alongside with his family there still. His wife was still trying to make sense of the situation as was his child. As much as it sucked to do this to a kid, her father didn't deserve to be free.

"P-Please don't take my appa away... he's a good person." The kid cried against her mother's hold.

"I'm sorry kiddo, but your dad... is not a good man. He took the life of another person. He killed my friend, and I can't let him go because of that." The wife's eyes widened even more as she tried to get words out of her husband. He also dropped to his knees at the shock of what he was hearing.

"I spent the last 5 years searching for you. And I finally caught you, having the time of your life. While my friend was dead, rotting away wherever you hid the body. There's much more I want to say and do but I won't for the sake of your family." (Y/n) said.

"I'll ask you this once, where is the body?" The man remained silent choosing that choice as (Y/n) was tempted to do more than just talk. His fist formed up but was pulled away by Eunha, shaking her head at what he almost did.  "He's not worth it (Y/n), we already have him." She let her arms wrap around him, attempting to soothe his anger.

"I hope you suffer for the rest of your life. You don't deserve anything that you have right now." (Y/n) vented out his anger.

"You don't get to live a bad life and have good things happen to you." With that delivery of a line, the sounds of a car pulling up beside them snapped (Y/n) out of his mode. (Y/n) handed him over to his fellow officers taking his leave and returning home.

2 hours later
(Y/n) waited for Eunbi to return to inform her of the news, instead of texting her and ruining her night out. He didn't know how she'd react at that moment if he suddenly dropped a text saying he found the killer. (Y/n) was on the couch, having a meal with Eunha. It was a mini celebration and a payment for not buying her enough food from the vendors, especially since they were interrupted by finding their target. She seemed to be in a good mood, and she deserved to be in one. After all this time as a lost spirit, and finally receiving her freedom.

"I never gave it any thought, but how would you like us to do it? I'll find the remains of your body no matter what, but how would you like me to set you free? A grave, or cremation if you really prefer that." (Y/n) asked.

She stopped herself from taking another bite of food, growing silent. Eunha took a moment before looking at him. "I... if you set me free, then I won't see you two anymore right?" (Y/n) could hear the sadness from her voice, he knew this was why some ghosts never wanted to pass on. He didn't think Eunha would also feel that way, after searching to free her for so long.

"As far as I've seen, they all pass whenever I set them free. To whatever is next, heaven, hell, and maybe even reincarnation." A single tear fell from her eyes, to which he instinctively wiped.

"What if... I don't want you to set me free?" Eunha whispered.

"Are... you sure?" (Y/n) asked.

"I'm scared of not knowing what comes next. I would rather take my chances here with you, and Eunbi." She said, letting their hands meet. Eunha leaned forward, pressing her head against his chest. Sisters they both were, sharing the same moves that made his heart beat faster.

"I wish I was still alive..." Eunha cried out. She raised her head, meeting his eyes, always so caring and full of life. If what happened next never happened, she would've done something she would regret.

The door opened with the sounds of a key jingling in the keyhole. (Y/n) turned just in time to see Eunbi enter their place. She kicked her heels off before coming over and crashing into his arms. A small riveting smell of alcohol was around her but she wasn't dead drunk.

"Where's Eun—" Eunbi linked up with him as she spoke, placing her hand over his. What she didn't expect was Eunha to be that close to them both, nor the extra hand that was connected with (Y/n)'s.

"What's wrong...? Why do you look so sad?" Eunbi asked, immediately turning to comfort her sister.

"I was waiting until you got back to let you know. Eunha and I did another run tonight... and we caught the culprit and arrested him." No subtleness would help nor was it necessary, especially because there was no other way to let her know but the flat out answer.

"I... I can't believe it's over. How did you even find him? What did you do to him?" Eunbi asked, her voice heavy with uncertainty.

"(Y/n) and I both saw him, but the moment I saw his face I knew it was him. At first I hoped we were wrong, that man had become a husband to someone, and a father to someone. Then (Y/n) started asking questions and we both knew it was him." Eunha explained.

"Is he going to be prosecuted?" Eunbi asked (Y/n) and he nodded. "I recorded his answers, and something that gave away his reaction to seeing Eunha again. I'll be sure to make use of my ability to ensure that he is locked away."

"I go out for one night and you two finish the job without me. It's finally over... you'll be free soon Eunha. I'm sorry it took so long." Eunbi said. The younger girl's face returned to its state of sadness as Eunbi questioned her again.

"It's your choice. I won't stop you." (Y/n) said out of the blue, turning Eunbi's head to him. Eunha nodded and thanked him while Eunbi was still in the blue, unaware of the context.

"She's unsure if she wants this, if she wants us to let her go." (Y/n) finally told Eunbi.

"Eunha... is that true...?" The older girl asked. Her sister nodded as Eunbi immediately pulled her in and held her.

"Do you really want to stay with us forever? To stay as a ghost while you watch over us? Why would you want such a thing?" Eunbi asked.

"Because it would be better than never seeing you again. I'm dead Unnie, but at least I can watch you and (Y/n) from where I am. If I pass on, I will never see you again."

"I don't want to force you... if this is what you really want then so be it." Eunbi said.

"Think it over, and whatever your answer is then, we'll respect it." (Y/n) added, hoping to end things on a good note.

1 month later
Time passed as things moved on, within a span of only a month. The murderer was trialed and sentenced to 30-40 years in prison after admitting to his crimes of committing more than just one case of murder. With (Y/n)'s help with getting the truth out via Eunha's assistance, he admitted to killing multiple young girls 4-5 years ago. The bodies were found and recovered after all this time. And though it was unidentifiable without taking DNA into account, they were all found. (Y/n) inevitably had to perform his role as the link between both worlds again, after calling out relatives of the deceased ones. Those who had either moved on or haven't, watching as parents and siblings, came to hear the news of their deceased daughter/sister's body being recovered after all this time.

As the goodness of his heart poured out, he helped attend funerals and relay messages between both sides. Helping their departures go on their ways one after another. Things have changed for him, as if things have gone full circle. He used to help people send off their loved ones, then he stopped when it was far too overwhelming, and now he was back to offering his service to families of the deceased. It wasn't as bad anymore, especially with his growth in body and mind. He had the ability to prevent himself from being put into awkward situations, and the power to say no. This was his curse turned gift that Eunha always praised.

Speaking of Eunha, she was still undecided with her choice to stay. There was nothing wrong with her staying, the couple had established that to her. It was a matter of how long she would even want to remain here. Regardless, they held a proper burial for Eunha this time with her remains inside. She was free to leave whenever, and if she even wanted to.

Forever By Your Side
(Y/n), Eunha, and Eunbi were out together for their day off. The three held a small picnic together at a nearby park. With all the events that have happened while the years have passed, it was never forgotten by them. From graduation, to joining the academy, cheating on a test with Eunha's help, moving in together, earning their titles as detectives, and catching the killer. The time spent together was the best time of their lives. (Y/n) and Eunbi owed it to her, for keeping them together and helping them every step of the way. All the tips and advice she would give, and all the pushes and secrets she'd spoil to one another.

Eunbi rested her head against (Y/n)'s shoulder, while Eunha laid in between them. Their view gazed upon an open lake, clear and blooming with life. A gust of wind blew against the tree, hailing down a flow of cherry blossom leaves.

With a swift motion, Eunha lifted herself up and stood in front of them. Her white dress that Eunbi recently gifted her flowed with the wind. She smiled brightly, as she always did whenever it came to seeing them together.

"I have my answer for you two." Eunha said. Eunbi lifted her head off of (Y/n)'s shoulder, awaiting the words from her sister.

"I thought about it, and I want to stay. I really do, every moment that I spend with you or (Y/n) is wonderful. And I love you both, very very much. But I don't think I can just stay around forever, especially when you two get married, and when you two have kids. As much as I would love to see it all, I don't think it's my place to stay that long. This is your life, and I should move on with mine. So, I will be leaving now."

"You can at least give us a warning... you really want to make us cry don't you?" (Y/n) tried to stay strong amidst the situation. She laughed as she took a hold of his hand.

"I want to see it, do it for me please? This is my final wish (Y/n)." Eunha asked.

He nodded, turning back to Eunbi and pulled out the box he kept within his pockets. (Y/n) didn't need any words, with Eunbi's answer clear enough with her lips pressed up against his in a matter of seconds. The younger girl clapped her hands, watching as he slipped the ring onto Eunbi's finger.

"You too Eunbi, please I want to see his reaction." The older girl nodded as she pulled out her own surprise. It came in the form of a pregnancy test, the answer clear as day to (Y/n). Neither of them could blame him for letting out a cry of happiness, as they soon followed his actions. Eunbi held onto (Y/n) tightly as they both turned back to Eunha. "If it's a girl, name her after me." Eunha managed to crack one final joke.

"I'm glad we met, that we became friends, and I'm grateful to you for everything. We won't ever forget you, and I promise you that. We both love you very much Eunha." (Y/n) said, as the younger girl came running into their arms. They returned the embrace and held her in between them.

"We'll be separated again, but it won't be for long I promise. Find me, in the next life. We'll be sisters again, regardless of blood. I love you so much Eunha." Eunbi cried rubbing the head of her sister.

"I love you both." Eunha said, her body slowly fading away. The girl that was pressed against both of them vanished as they pushed forward into each other's body instead. Eunha was gone, she finally moved on.

Together they shed tears, it was a mixture of sadness and yet there was happiness in there. She found peace and was finally able to rest after being astray for so long. Their path with her ends today, but no matter how long it takes, their road will end up together again. They will keep moving until they find her again, in the next life or the ones after.

Wow, I didn't think I'd be able to pull that off. I'm very satisfied with my ending for this one. I'm sure it was clear enough that it wouldn't be a 3-way ending especially since the two were sisters. There's a lot of skips in this one but I definitely think it was necessary. If this was to be perfected in any way, it would have to be an actual dedicated story and not a one shot. However I'm not that outgoing to perform such a task.

Now then, I'm gonna go cry
