Jeon Soyeon
Ah, another group that is being horribly managed. Imagine if Soyeon had full sovereignty over G-Idle. She's already making all the music, she might as well have the rights to the group. Again like with other groups I've written for, I'm not he best at know these girl's and their personalities. It's still just a fanfic after all.
Hopes and Dreams
A woman's eyes slammed open as she took a look around her, noticing the catastrophe around her. The car she was inside of was shattered, her body ached with pain while the smell of smoke filled her lungs. She quickly hopped out of the car, hobbling out and falling onto her knees. Her head rang in pain as she gathered whatever consciousness remained inside of her and tried to assess the situation. Something could be heard next to her as she turned to see a cracked phone on the ground, a call still in motion. Like a missing piece of the puzzle, she traced it back to the source as she saw a man lying on the ground a mere few feet away from her.
Her legs began to give out on her as she took a deeper step into her own grave while approaching the man. Just before she sunk into the depths of her guilt, she caught the glimpse of his face. The final nail on her coffin as she saw who it was. Not only did she hurt another person, another human being, it was an acquaintance.
"Oh my god... please please, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." Her voice cried out against his face.
Like the calm before the storm the paramedics finally arrived upon the scene. They both were extracted into the ambulances and escorted to safety. Her exhaustion took over and consumed her, taking her into a deep slumber.
Next Day
The next morning her eyes were met with bright lights, one being the actual lights that beamed her eyes and the others were her fellow members. They immediately engulfed her in an embrace crying into her arms, happy for her safety. Slowly and surely she was filled in on her current situation. She was involved in an accident, a sudden crash against a person that sent her car spiraling into a nearby lamp post. Luckily both parties survived and no lives were lost last night, but it didn't come without a price.
Like wildfire spreading in a field, the news was all over this. While her identity was kept a secret, his was out and unprotected like a prey to a pack of predators. Articles after articles, claiming thousands of clicks thanks to his name along with the word "accident".
Without hesitation she ripped off the tubes connected to her arms and stumbled out of her room before being stopped by her friends. Despite all their words and attempts to stop her, she powered through and began her search. Her members tried their best at calming her down and pleading her to rest but it didn't work. So they joined her and helped her search for the victim.
After asking a nurse about the patient who was involved in an accident, they finally found out which room he belonged to. The next moment was the hardest thing they've ever had to endure in their lives. Not only did they enter his room without permission, but his family was in there. Her eyes scanned them for a second before seeing the very face she saw last night.
Despite the chatter of his family members and attempts of both sides trying to ask her to back away, she still persisted. "Soyeon, please you can't do this. Let's just go, you can visit him later." Her friend said while pulling on her arms.
It didn't help when Soyeon dropped to her knees in front of them. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to, please I'm so sorry for this." After raising her head for a split second she caught the look in his eyes. Hatred? No, there wasn't any form of that there. Forgiving wouldn't be the right call either. It seemed more like confusion, that would be the right term.
Her members dragged her out while she muttered out apology after apology. After bringing her back into her own room, they tried their best to dispel the situation. It was just an accident, it shouldn't be too bad for any of them. As of yet, he hadn't issued any form of lawsuit or even report against them. It didn't seem like that was going to happen when they found out from Soyeon that he was her old friend.
The day passed by as Soyeon locked herself up in a cage inside her mind. Why did it have to be him? Of all people she could've hit and ran over, why did it have to be him? Her actions last night played out over and over again in her head. She was tired, unaware, and couldn't avoid this accident. It just had to happen, like a curse being set against her.
Soyeon couldn't even bring herself to eat despite all her members trying their best to force her. They had to shut her off from the internet since all she would do was look at all the articles about what's happening. She wasn't allowed to leave either since they knew she would go to him.
(Y/n), that's who he was. An old friend of her's, an old dance partner, and another idol of course. Their lives were merged together once again like it was meant to be, despite parting ways after she hit it off with her new group. While she loved to compose and make music, alongside of singing and rapping, he loved to dance and choreograph. "Firefly" She used to call him because of how he always seemed to light up any dance he performed with her.
Soyeon couldn't get any rest that night, not willing to even sleep without being able to see him again. While the two members that stayed slept, she snuck out and went to him again. It was late now and there wasn't many people around. She hoped to god his family wouldn't be there either since she was sure they were angry enough at her.
Without knocking, she opened the door to his room and went inside. It was unexpected yet she didn't mind it as much. He was awake, sitting on his bed just staring out the window. Their eyes met and suddenly her guilt overcame her. It felt like she was being burnt from the inside out. Despite all that, she went closer towards him like two magnets attracting each other. Soyeon stopped once she touched the foot of his bed, watching his every movement.
"Hi Jelly, I had a feeling you'd come by." He said, and if the situation there were in could be ignored, she would've done more than just smile at the sound of her nickname.
The moment of joy was quickly lived as she snapped back to reality and tried her best at not breaking down in front of him. He gestured for her to take a seat beside him, and even though it was wrong to be so causal with him, she did as he asked.
"I'm really glad you're safe, when I found out that it was you who hit me, I was scared that you were also hurt. It's a good thing you weren't. You really lucked out of this one." (Y/n) said.
"What about you though....?" Nothing seemed out of the ordinary for him. His enthusiasm was the same as it was years ago.
"Do you really want to know? I don't think you'll like it if you hear about it. It's better if you just forget about this." She held back the instinct to land a playful smack, an old reaction she would always have whenever he held out something from her.
"Tell me, I want to know how bad it is." Soyeon said, as he nodded.
"Don't say I didn't warn you. Due to the crash, I injured the lower half of my body, so my legs and everything that moves me. I can barely stand, but my body won't move. The surgery definitely saved me from losing it all. So, I won't be able to do much for a while. I'll be going through a rehab for a couple of months." Hope and despair, both at once.
"Happy? You shouldn't have asked for it. I didn't want you to know because that's exactly the reaction I didn't want to see." She grabbed ahold of his hands whilst her own were trembling.
"I'm sorry (Y/n), I really am." Her voice shook as she apologized.
"You really came crashing back into my life." He joked.
His hands returned the grasp making her realize she was still holding his hands. Soyeon pulled away except for the one hand that he didn't let go.
"It was just an accident. Don't blame yourself too hard for this. Remember what I used to say? I love it when you smile, so stop looking so gloom." He patted her hand a few times as he finally let go.
"I'll make it up to you, I promise. I'll do anything you ask, so please forgive me." She bowed her head, vowing to repay her debts to him.
"I already have, but I'll hold you to that." He answered in return.
He advised her to return to her room to get some rest, finally letting her realize that her body was actually quite drained. Soyeon promised to be back in the morning and to let them catch up on their lives.
Timeskip - 2 weeks
Everyday that passed by was filled with memory relishing moments for the two reunited friends. Even though Soyeon was qualified enough to leave, she still remained there as long as possible. It started with the two of them just staying in his room and talking while listening to music. Then once it came to rehabilitating him, she'd be at his side each step at a time. It was hard watching him struggle to walk like it was his first time again. Whether it were just words of encouragement regarding physical lay helping him up whenever he'd drop to the ground, she gave everything into helping him.
It may sound bad, but this accident may have happened for the greater good. At least it's what she tried to tell herself aside from the that fact that it was still her fault for causing this in the first place. Soyeon got to meet (Y/n) again, and she even bought the other members some time off too. Speaking of members, their discovery of her new found weakness was (Y/n) himself. After finding out and learning about the two, the teasing never stopped, nor did the ships.
While Soyeon tried her best to deny and shoot down their ships, it was hard when she knew exactly what she was feeling. She was confident enough to say they both had crushes on each other a while back. Seeing how he didn't exactly have a significant other, surely it wasn't wrong to like him.
Their time did come to an end though however, with Soyeon's group having to return to working on their new projects. Today was her last free day to spend some time with (Y/n) and she wasn't going to waste a second of it. After dealing with her morning routine, she got to the hospital as fast as she could. She gave the door a knock before entering and she was in for quite the awkward situation. Her eyes lingered to something that caught her attention right away. His phone was propped up and recording him to which she assumed was a Vlive considering hearing him talking and responding to questions.
Soyeon gave him a small wave, seeing a smile form on his lips in return. "Someone's here, sorry everyone I'll have to end the live early today. I'll be sure to do another one soon." She heard him say.
"You don't have to end the live for me, you can keep going." Soyeon whispered to him, trying not to have her voice be heard. Despite her suggestion, he waved goodbye to the camera and turned it off.
"You want to get caught up in my live? Imagine what would happen to us if that ever happens." (Y/n) said, making her agree.
"A dating scandal with you? I can't even imagine what would happen." Soyeon laughed a little, thinking of what excuse they could use to make people believe them it wasn't true.
"Although it doesn't sound so bad..." Soyeon thought out loud. His eyes made her realize she just confessed that out loud and sent a streak of redness across her cheeks.
"What does? The thought of you and I dating? Or the scandal?" (Y/n) said whilst smiling at the teasing.
"Zip it, that wasn't meant for you to hear." She tried to move on but he wouldn't let it go.
"Nope, give me an answer first. You obviously were thinking of us getting involved like that, so tell me what you thought about." (Y/n) said, only to dodge a smack from her.
"Come on, tell me that you totally imagined us dating, being all romantic with each other." She tried hitting him again but he caught both hands. (Y/n) held her in place as Soyeon finally stopped trying to hit him.
"You're cute even when you're mad. Don't be so angry, I think that sounds good too if you wanted to know what I thought of it." His grip loosened and she got free before taking a seat again.
"I hate you, I should've stayed home." Soyeon said, her lips forming a pout.
"That's mean, I was really happy you visited me too." He said, faking a heart ache.
They chatted for a bit until (Y/n) started shifting out of bed and tried to get into his temporary wheelchair. This snapped Soyeon out of her trance and went over to help him. Once he was good to go she brought him to his rehab area. It was just a simple training area to help him regain his footing and instincts of walking. Over the past few days he had gotten better at propping himself up, but he wouldn't be walking nor dancing anytime soon.
Soyeon stood to the side as (Y/n) began taking baby steps, painstakingly making his way down the path. She wanted to help but with what little she could do in this situation, all she could do was encourage him. She held onto his arm each step of the way, only to give stability to him. He had reached the point where he wanted and needed to take these steps alone.
Her mind suddenly raced and thought of something happening between them. It made the butterflies in her stomach fly, but she wanted to follow through with it.
"I'll give you a prize if you make it to the end." She whispered into his ear.
(Y/n)'s eyes peaked in interest as he forced himself another step ahead. Soyeon couldn't help but laugh as she could see that he was going to win no matter what. Her body began to feel nervous at knowing what gift she wanted to give him. It seemed like a scene out of a movie but it was too perfect to not use.
Soyeon came around the railings and stood at the end of the path watching him get closer and closer. Before she was even able to prep herself, he made it stopping in front of her.
"So? What's my prize?" He joked, trying to stay standing a little longer.
"Soye—" He stopped mid sentence, unable to speak anymore when the unexpected happened. The softness of her lips were overwhelming, having them pressed against his own lips were not the sort of prize he could have asked for.
(Y/n)'s mind went blank before he suddenly dropped to the floor. Her worries cried out immediately dropping down to his level to help him up, but he quickly brushed it aside. "Are you sure you're okay? Here I'll—" He smiled, finally having accepted the situation.
"I'm fine Soyeon. I just... wasn't expecting the kiss." Her face had already burnt red due to the kiss as well. She held her head with her hands, hiding from him in plain sight.
"So... was the kiss just a prank or is it something more?" (Y/n) asked.
"What do you think? Would I really just kiss you for fun?" She muttered from behind her hands.
"You tell me, you're the one who kissed me." (Y/n) said in response, pulling her hands from hiding her face.
Soyeon took in the looks on his face and realized this wasn't the time to dance and avoid the question. He was serious, just as serious as she was. Her chance was now, it was the best shot she had.
"Can we... go out together? I really like you (Y/n)." She mustered up and confessed those words.
At first he didn't react, except for blinking his eyes multiple times, perhaps checking if he was dreaming or not. He finally let out a soft laugh, revealing that smile of his. "I'd love that." Her heart melted when he accepted those feelings of her's.
She laughed suddenly then looked a bit gloom, grabbing ahold of both his hands. "Would you hate me if I said that I don't regret hitting you with a car?" He was surprised at the awkwardness of the question but ultimately said no.
"Well... I don't. I still feel like shit for doing so, but when I think about it... it brought me back to you. So I'm glad it happened for this reason. I'm still sorry about your legs though." She jumped in between happy and sad within seconds after seconds.
"It was worth it." He muttered out. "For us to be reunited, and now we're harboring feelings for one another. I would let it happen again given the chance."
"I want this to last forever. Please don't ever let this end between us." Soyeon begged.
Her plea was answered with his lips against her cheek. She moved forward and connected their lips, unsatisfied with the small peck. A smile from them both sealed the promise as he asked her to help him up now.
Soyeon helped him up before helping him get into his wheelchair. Instead of taking the turn to his room, he asked to visit the garden outside. "Come on, it'll be quick. It'll just be like a small date, besides it's not like people will even recognize us here." He said as she gave in.
They took a small stroll around before coming to a patch that caught his interest. (Y/n) asked her to stand in front of him as he snapped a few pics of her.
"You look so amazing." He commented while showing the pictures to her. The tender smile on his face while scrolling through the photos made her heart flutter even more. Soyeon enclosed her hands over his before giving him a soft peck on the lips. "Thank you." She whispered to him.
She rolled him back into his room and helping him settle back into bed. Her time was up and she needed to return to her dorm. "I'll visit every chance I get." She promised him. (Y/n) grabbed her hand and pulled her closer, asking her to close her eyes. Soyeon obliged and waited as she could her the jingling of jewelry and feeling his presence around her neck. Once (Y/n) was done he asked her to open up her eyes. There she saw his fabled necklace that he always kept on. "(Y/n)—"
"I want it back, so don't take too long." He laughed, seeing her awe at the necklace. With a farewell hug and a slow slip of the hands, she left him.
8 months later
Without them even realizing, time began to fly past them at an instantaneous speed. (Y/n)'s condition gradually improved as he went from standing up by himself to walking and eventually light jogs. Pushing any further such as sprints or even dancing would cause a breakdown in his body which he learned from experience. One was attempting to cover one of Soyeon's dances and falling onto his rear due to the unstableness of his legs for said choreo. Another was running for his life after playing a prank on Shuhua, he ended up crashing onto the ground unable to avoid the playful beating she gave him.
These past months have been some of the best of his life. Everything has been flipped for him, from being a full time idol to being a normal person again. He had a dating life for the first time in years. He managed to make new friends that weren't just for business. Thinking back to what Soyeon once confessed to him, he also doesn't regret getting hit by the car. It happened for a reason, and that reasoning was to bring him and Soyeon together again.
(Y/n) rung the doorbell waiting a bit before it opened up. Yuqi revealed herself behind the door and allowed him inside. Once inside she finally got her hands around him for a welcoming embrace. Followed by another who jumped into his arms. The two youngest members had gotten quite close to him, treating him as if he was just a brother.
"Where's Soyeon?" (Y/n) asked. The girls responded by pointing to the kitchen. He dragged them along as he made it to the kitchen with them still clinging onto him. The sight of food gave him his freedom as they let go and dug in.
(Y/n)'s eyes were set on someone else, someone who was looking like perfect wife material in front of him. He went forward before wrapping his arms around Soyeon. No surprise reaction was gained from her as she spun around and clashed with his embrace. Her arms were careful not to hit him with the utensils she held in her hands.
The embrace didn't last long as their lips had a meeting of their own. The two kissed as if the others weren't in the room and currently watching them. A small "ahem" broke up the kiss as they turned to the others who were trying to eat without watching a a scene from a drama play in front of them.
(Y/n) took a seat as Soyeon sat on his lap, enjoying her food. The others continued on and chatted while the two had their own share of conversations. Once she finished, Soyeon dragged him out by the hand and immediately brought him into their workout room. From time to time whenever he would get to visit, they would work at his legs together. At first walks were good enough but it came down to dancing together again. It started with slow dances to small segments from songs.
"I wanted your opinion on a certain part in our dance. Here I'll show you." Soyeon explained, as he watched from his seat.
His eyes watched in amazement as his girlfriend danced like the queen she was. It came to an end though when he realized that was all for the segment she wanted to show him. Soyeon can back over to him, asking him what he thought of it.
"So...? What do you think? Any thoughts?"
"You were amazing." She laughed at his response, coming over and sitting on his lap.
"I was talking about the choreo, were you paying attention?" She joked, planting kisses all over his face. "I was, only on you though." Their lips met for a short kiss as she got off of him.
"I'm kidding, the dance was great. It's just this part you could fix." (Y/n) said before proceeding to show her using his best condition to do so.
Their dance session went on a little longer as they tuned out the dance. Soyeon called it quits when she saw his legs began to give out. She was always on alert on his limits, knowing he would push it to stand alongside her just a little longer. The two made it back to her room before heading for a shower, and only a shower. (Y/n) and Soyeon had their limits, and doing such things together while the others were around and able to hear wasn't such a good idea.
The rest of their day was spent laying atop each other and watching a movie together. Occasionally landing kisses and pecks on each other. "Are you tired?" He asked her. Soyeon nodded, while clutching onto his body tightly.
He turned off the tv, before pulling the blanket over them both. "Get some rest Jelly, I love you." (Y/n) said, planting a kiss atop of her head. "Love you too Firefly." Soyeon said in return, giving them one last kiss.
Another uneasy chapter for me, I feel like the ending wasn't that smooth. Honestly, the first kiss scene was my vision for the whole chapter. I thought it was fluttering to see the two get together at that moment but then again, the chapter would be too short if it ended there.
Eh, it is what it is for now. I will perhaps get back to G-Idle chapters one day. For now, I just had to write a chapter for Soyeon since she is obviously one of my favorites.

Yes, I know IZ*ONE is disbanding but like pretty much any other writer, that isn't going to stop me from writing stories for certain members. It's sad to see them go, but we knew it was coming. I'm sure the members will be successful in their future careers, whether it involves making music or not. All we can do now is wish them the best and give all our support to them when they do split.
