"How about this one?" I picked up another headband off the table, placing it on my head and making a cute face.

Seulgi poked her bottom lip with her finger before shaking her head.

I pouted and put it down before grabbing another. "This?"

Seulgi hummed. "I don't know, maybe headbands just aren't your thing," She said.

"Eh? Headbands were always my thing! You know, when I was little."

"Exactly. Me on the other hand," She grabbed my headband from me and put it on.

Before she could say anything, I snatched in and put it back. "No, if I can't have it, you can't either," I said.

Seulgi laughed as she grabbed my hand to drag me further down the narrow street. The other vendors kept trying to get up to buy things off of their overflowing tables, but we politely declined as we were on our way to get food.

"Corndogs!" I yelled, pointing to the food cart.

"No! You remember what happened last time, right?"

"It wasn't the food! The cart was disgusting anyway, anyone would've thrown up," I said.

"But you didn't. I did!" She yelled, squeezing my hand.

"Ah, ah! Okay fine! How about we just get out of here and go get some ice cream then," I suggested.

Seulgi pursed her lips and nodded.

We made our way out of the busy streets and went near the outskirts to a small desert shop that was near closing since it was almost 11pm.

"Do you think they'll even serve us? They're about to close," Seulgi asked.

"We have 10 minutes, we can just get the icecream and get out."

As we walked inside, the bells on the door rang. There were a few other people inside, but it was mostly deserted. The nice, cool atmosphere gave us a break from the outside heat.

Once we ordered our icecream, we waited at the counter for it to be prepared. Seulgi rested an elbow on the counter, and her chin in her palm. She sighed and closed her eyes.

"Tired?" I asked.

She just started running her thumb across my knuckles and nodded.

"Are you gonna be able to eat your icecream?" I asked.

I didn't get a response.

"Fine, I guess I'll eat it," I mumbled.

"Nooooo," She dragged out, eyes still closed.

I laughed. "Then wake up. We still have to get home, you can't go to sleep now."

Seulgi continued to keep her eyes closed and I just pulled her to a table.

"Fine, sleep here. I'll wake you when our icecream is ready," I said.

Once it was ready, I grabbed the two cups with spoons mushed inside and thanked the cashier.

"Come on, Seulgi," I called.

I walked, assuming that she was behind me, and went outside. I turned to hand Seulgi her icecream, but she wasn't there.

"Huh?"

I looked back into the shop window and Seulgi was still face-planted at the table. I giggled as the cashier went to wake her. Her head shot up, eyes going every which way. She just bowed slightly to the worker and scurried out.

"It's not funny," She said, snatching her icecream from me.

I stifled my laugher. "I'm not laughing. I told you not to fall asleep."

"Oh hush."

I pinched her cheek and she whined.

"What am I gonna do with you?"

"Take me home to sleep," She said. "But that really hurt!" She yelled, rubbing her cheek.

"I'm sorry." I gave her cheek a quick kiss. "Better?"

She nodded and stuffed her face with icecream.

The sky has been black for some time and the street lights were on. Seulgi and I looped our arms and walked side by side, our hips bumping occasionally.

"Can you believe that we've been out of the house all day? We're lucky if we get out for 5 minutes," I said.

Seulgi laughed and nodded.

"Do you think Ddeokbokki misses us?" I asked.

She sighed. "I still can't believe you named our cat Ddeokbokki," She said. "But I'm sure he's fine."

"You're fine," I said.

"Whoa, where did that come from?" She asked, laughing.

"I'm only speaking the truth, sugar buns."

We both laughed really loudly before Seulgi started waving her hand.

"Alright, let's stop drawing attention to ourselves before we get kidnapped," She said.

That shot a tiny spark of fear through my body, and my adrenaline kicked in.

"I'll race you home!" I yelled before taking off, Seulgi right behind me.

And no, we didn't get kidnapped. We got home safely then fed icecream to Ddeokbokki.
