83.Wonwoo (Seventeen)

"Wonwoo!" I yelled from down the hall. He looked back and I ran up to him. "Oh, h-hi, (y/n)." He said. "Why didn't you wait for me? I wanted to walk with you." I said cutely. He blushed and laughed nervously. "No you didn't." He said. "I was surprised. "How are you gonna tell me?" I crossed my arms and pouted. "No one walks with me. I don't have friends." "Well that's why I want to walk with you." I said, which is true, but also because I like him. "Are you sure you're not being dared?" He asked. "What's wrong with you? Really, can't a person just walk with another person?" He shrugged me off and walked into our class. Wonwoo is really shy and quiet. He doesn't have many friends and people like to pick on him, but I don't understand why. I just walked in after him and sat in my seat. I sighed and leaned my head on my hand as my teacher went on and on about who knows what. I got bored and decided to sneak a glance at Wonwoo to see what he was doing. His pencil was just writing away, following every word the teacher said. I grinned at his concentrated face. He must have felt me looking at him because he slowly lifted his head and turned it toward me. His eyes caught mine and he froze. I smiled and held my hand up wiggling my fingers, waving at him. He smiled shyly and waved back before quickly looking back down. I lazily looked back at the board and finished the notes. "And that's why scientist believe that the evolution-" My teacher was cut off by the bell and I sighed in relief. "Make sure you finish the worksheet and hand it in tomorrow!" He yelled over the commotion of the students. I packed up my backpack and looked over and Wonwoo who was finishing his last though on paper. I admired his dedication to learning and zipped my bag up. I was about to go up to him, but I saw a big group of guys swarm around him. "Hey guys, have you seen Wonwoo?" One asked sarcastically. "WonWho?" They laughed and I rolled my eyes at their lame puns. I could see Wonwoo tense in his seat. "You know, that dorky kid who usually sits right here." The one who seemed the be the leader pretended to look around for Wonwoo while shoving his backpack on the floor. "Huh, weird. I guess no one will mind if I dump my trash here then." He grabbed a bag of chips, crushed it and poured the crumbs on Wonwoo's head. That's where I draw the line. "Hey!" I yelled. They all looked at me and I stomped over the them. I snatched the bag out of his hand and shoved it into his chest. "Leave him alone." I said. They all made faces like they were looking at a baby. "Aw, look who's here. It's his little follower (y/n)." I rolled my eyes and stood my ground. "Get out of here!" I yelled. They all laughed. "Why are you sticking up for him, huh? Do you like him or something?" I blushed but kept a stern look. "So what if I do?" I asked quietly. Wonwoo's eyes widened. The leader furrowed his eyebrows and looked me up and down. "What's a girl like you doing liking a nerd like him. I mean look at him, he's nothing!" He pushed me back against the wall and started twirling my hair. "You need a real man like me, someone who can stick up for himself and you if you needed it." He said. "Get you grimy paws off me." I swatted his hands and pushed him back. "Playing hard to get?" He smirked and I felt like puking. "It's okay, I like to play." I grabbed my sides and I tried pushing his off but he was to strong. "Get off!" I yelled. "Let go of her, now." A voice said. We all looked at Wonwoo who was standing behind him with dark eyes. "And what happens if I don't?" Without a second though, Wonwoo drew his fist back and punched him in the face. He grabbed my wrist and quickly dragged me out of the room. We could hear the yells as we left. We ran until we were on the far end of the school. "Why did you do that?" He asked, out of breath. "What?" "Why did you try to defend me?" "Because it wasn't right." I said quietly. "Yeah well look what happened. They turned on you! Don't do that again or they might do something worse than that when no one is around!" "B-But, I just wanted to help." I looked down and he sighed. "I know. But I don't need it." "You obviously do!" "Well I don't want you to get hurt!" "I can handle myself." I said. "Does that sound familiar? Now you see what I'm talking about. I can handle myself too." "I didn't like seeing them be mean to you." "Why?" "I like you." I said. He looked at me for a minute. "Do you really?" "Why else would I always want to be around you?" He stayed quiet. "Look, Wonwoo, I-" He pulled me into his chest and held me tight. "I like you too." He said. I looked up at him. "Really? You don't think I'm annoying?" I asked. He smiled. "Never." "Even when I always follow you or talk to you too much?" "No, it just shows me that you actually want to be around me." "Of course I do! I don't understand why anyone wouldn't. And you're so cute!" I pinched his cheek and he smiled, looking away. "You're cute too." He mumbled. I heard him but I wanted to tease him. "What was that?" I asked, holding my hand up to my ear. He looked me in the eyes. "I said you're cute too." I pulled a cute face. "I know." I said. "You wanna skip the rest of the day with me?" I asked. "S-Skip, you mean skip school?" He asked. "What else?" "Oh, I-I-" "I know you're a goody goody and all, but you need to live a little!" I said. "Trust me, you'll be fine." I said. He thought for a second then nodded. "Alright." He said. "Good, let's go get ice cream or something-" He suddenly kissed me and I was surprised. "What was that for?" I asked. "For being there."
