113. Moon Bin (Astro) Part 5 - Finale
I stood uncomfortably next to Vernon as Keemi was trying to (baldy) flirt with Bin. I felt Vernon look over at me, trying to look anywhere but the cringy sight in front of us and I looked back at him with a 'help me' look. He nodded once and finally spoke. "Um, Bin, Keemi, how about we go start ridding the rides, shall we?" They agreed and we all made our way to the first ride in sight. Naturally, the whole evening I rode with Vernon and Keemi with Bin. Eventually we all took a break to get food.
After stuffing our faces with carnival food, I had to take a bathroom break before continuing on the rides. I was a little weary of going by myself because I didn't want Keemi to lock me in the bathroom or something, but my bladder wasn't buying excuses so I went anyway. Even when Vernon and Bin went to the bathroom, Keemi stayed put. I shrugged and did my business. When I came out, Keemi was still sipping on her drink and when Bin came out, she tossed it to the side and grabbed Bin's arm. Why can't she just give him some space?
"Keemi, you gonna use the bathroom?" I asked.
"Nope, I'm fine."
"Okay," I dragged out under my breath.
After we rode the big rides one last time, we decided to end the night on a quite note by riding the Ferris wheel. Vernon felt bad that I didn't get to ride with Bin on any of the rides so he tried taking on for the team.
He casually slid his arm around Keemi. "How about you ride with me, huh?" He wiggled his eyebrows at her.
She rolled her eyes and pushed his chest. "Never in a million years."
"Come on, I'm hot! What does Bin have that I don't have?" He whined. "Just ride with me!"
The two of them had a yelling match as it was getting closer to our turn while me and Bin were trying to get them to calm down. The worker looks 1000% done with shenanigans so he grabbed us and randomly shoved us on.
Bin and Vernon in one.
Me and Keemi in another.
I sat as close to the edge as I could. Keemi was sitting with her arms crossed.
"I can't believe this is happening," She muttered.
I rolled my eyes. Her breathing pattern started to change and she crossed her legs. I made a face as I looked at her. She squirmed in her seat and bit her lip.
"Um, you okay?"
"I'm fine," she spat, uncrossing her leg and bounced it.
I shook my head and sighed. "Are you sure you don't have to use the bathroom?"
"And leave you alone with Bin?! No thanks!" She yelled.
"But here we are, niether of us are with him." I said.
"It's your fault!"
My eyes widened. "How!?"
"It's just is! Oh my god I have to pee, get my off this ride!"
She started bouncing around, rocking the cart. I put my arms out and try and stop it.
"K-Keemi, calm down-"
"It's coming!"
"Keemi don't do it!"
"I'm doing it!"
"No! Not while I'm sitting-"
She started sighing in relief.
"- next to you,". I mumbled. "Oh my god."
Keemi just sat there, motionless. I just looked out off the side and onto the rest of the carnival. By now, the sun was set and the night lights were on. Niether one of us said another word. I could hear her sniffling.
"Bin is gonna think I'm a gross weirdo now," She cried.
"Oh no, that's not why he would think you're a weirdo," I said, trying to comfort but only made things worse.
"I hate you," she said.
"W-What, why?" I was actually surprised she said that.
"Because Bin likes you and not me."
I didn't know how to reply, so I kept my mouth shut.
"Bin would be quick to talk to you but the only way I can get a response out of him is if I keep staring at him until he tells me to stop." She mumbled. "Why don't boys like me?"
I awkwardly patted her shoulder, trying to ignore the smell of pee starting to fill my nostrils. "There, there," I said, breathing through my mouth. "Maybe if you toned it down a bit, boys wouldn't be so scared of you."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, maybe if you cut your bangs a little shorter so people could actually see your eyes, and maybe not staring at them so much to where it makes them uncomfortable,"
She sighed. "Do you know why I like Bin so much?" She asked. I shook my head. "Because he was the first boy at this school who was nice to me. He let me borrow a pencil."
My mouth dropped. "All of this is over a pencil?" She glared at me and I sighed. "I'm sorry."
"But that's not all. He is my last chance at love."
Before I could ask what she meant, she continued.
"My parents are moving across the country and are homeschooling me. I wanted so desperately for Bin to love me so I could fill that void before being cut off from boys for a long time."
"Well, I think saying he's your last chance at love is a little exaggerated. There will be many more boys out there you will meet. And you can't make Bin love you. If you have to make someone love you, it's not meant to be."
She sighed. "I know."
"So when are you moving?"
"Tomorrow."
My eyes widened. "Really?" I asked trying not to sound too excited.
"Yes. And because I'm leaving, I will give you my blessing to be with Bin."
I scoffed. "I don't need your blessing," I mumbled. As the ride was coming to a stop, we could see Bin and Vernon getting off and Keemi sighed as she looked down at her lap. I sighed and took my cardigan off.
"Here, tie this around your waist." I said, giving it to her.
"Are you sure?"
I nodded.
"T-Thanks."
When we got off the Ferris wheel, I looked sympathetically at Keemi. She slowly went up to Bin.
"Bin, I'm sorry for being weird towards you Bin. Just know that you don't have to worry about me anymore. Hopefully (y/n) can explain for me. This is the last time you will see me. It was nice knowing you, Bin, Vernon, and (y/n). Goodbye." She started walking away and quickly turned back to me.
"Your cardigan-"
"Keep it," I waved her off.
She gave me a small smile and
"What was that about?" Vernon asked.
"Long story short, Keemi is moving tomorrow. She won't be around anymore." I said.
"Really?" Bin asked. I nodded.
Vernon checked the time on his phone. "I forgot, I have a thing at home, to do, so I'm gonna go, (y/n), Bin can take you home right? I'll see you guys later." Vernon gave me a wink before leaving Bin and I alone.
I smiled shyly and shook my head.
"Do you want me to take you home now?" He asked.
"Why?"
"Well I just figured that since Vernon left, you don't wanna be here anymore."
Did he not get the hint?
I laughed. "The night is still young, how about we squeeze in a couple more rides before the close?"
Bin smiled and nodded.
The rest of the night was like a fairytale. I never knew Bin had such a sweet and fun side to him. After tonight, I realized that he makes me happy, and I make him happy. Hopefully he stays happy. And he did, well, we did, as a couple.
